Software :: Receive A Return E-mail Receipt Using Apple Mail And A .Mac/.Me Account

Aug 19, 2010

Does anyone know of an easy method to receive a return e-mail receipt using Apple Mail and a .Mac/.Me account. I know that in Windows you can use Outlook to receive/request a return receipt when the receiver opens the e-mail. I believe that even using Microsoft Office Entourage '08 would work as well but I really want to stay all Apple applications if at all possible

Mac Mini :: Mail Version 4.5 (1084) Displays All Messages - Return To Default Settings?

May 15, 2012

I inadvertently pressed a key or command while using Mail and now all of the inbox, send and draft communications are viewable.  I have tried returning Mail to default settings, but nothing has worked.  I have tried Help and View options and Preferences, but nothing works.  Does anyone know of a simple step for returning setings to display only most recent communications with the entire text displayed separately beneath?

OS X V10.7 Lion :: How To Stop Numbering (hit Return Twice) But To Remove List Entirely

Apr 18, 2012

how to remove a list (be it a numbered list or a bulletted list) from Mail?I know how to stop the numbering (hit return twice) but to remove the list entirely... no idea! I've tried reducing indent etc. but without success. Control shift return simply adds a carriage return without reducing the indent. I've searched on-line and in the forums but with no success.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Auto-Logout Does Not Return To Login Window

Jun 6, 2012

I have a new install of Mac 10.7.4 on a 21" iMac. I have the iMac set to automatically log out after 14 minutes of idle time. On many occasions when the logout is triggerd, the user account will log out, but the screen does not display the login window, it still shows an image of the last state of when the computer was logged in. When I move the mouse, the screen acts as if it's erasing the pixels off the screen, showing bits and pieces of the login screen in the background. If I type a user ID and password, a small area clears around the login fields so I can see the fields and log in.

This was originally happening when a screen saver was enabled, I have since removed the screen saver. This did not make a difference.

I have the Preference Pane>Security>Advanced set to log  out at 14 minutes and the Preference Pane>Energy Saver>Display Sleep set to go black at 15 minutes.

I have tried various different times/settings, but have not been able to fix this.

Since this configuration is for a Lab setting, I really need for the computer to log out cleanly and go back to the login screen.

OS X Mountain Lion :: How To Make Enter Key Appear As Return Key To Applications

Sep 3, 2014

In Microsoft Outlook 2011, hitting "Enter" (the tall, vertical, right-most bottom corner button on my numeric keypad) sometimes (but not always) causes an email to be sent, when I wasn't done typing and simply wanted to do a Return. I want to make sure this never happens again, but I'd like the option of hitting the Enter key to go to the next line - can I somehow redefine the Enter key at the OS level so that pressing it always sends a "Return" code to any software (such as Outlook)?

OS X V10.5 Leopard :: Format Line Spacing In Mail Compositions?

Feb 5, 2012

I've tried copying and pasting to and from TextEdit which does have a line spacing control but Mail disregards the changes. Despite that Mail sometimes does respect the line spacing of pasted text from some other sources, eg from internet browsers.

Being HTML email, there's no guarrenty the recipient will see the same formatting but from Mail —> Mail should be fine yes?

OS X :: Format External Hard Drive In Apple Partition Map Format?

Nov 5, 2009

I'm running Snow Leopard on my new Macbook Pro. I've got a 1.5TB External hard drive that I'm trying to figure out how to format in HFS+ with Apple Partition Map. I can figure out how to format in HFS using Disk Utility, however it still does it in GUID format and I do not know how to do it in Apple Partition Map.

Googleing this for hours has lead with all kinds of information on how to go to GUID FROM Apple Partition Map but not the other way around. I know GUID is the new hottness.. but this drive will be used exclusively to connect to my XBOX 360 and it supposedly only reads HFS+ when its formatted with Apple Partition Map. (I have tried it with Mac OS Extended (Journaled) with GUID, and the XBOX does NOT recognize it) I do not want to use Fat 32, (I know that that is the other major option) beacuse it limits file size.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Print To Pdf Format Too Big?

May 6, 2012

when I want to create pdf file (from different applications, mostly from word), it creat the pdf file way too larger than the original file. For example, my master thesis in .doc is about 10Mb, however the .pdf file is about 17Mb and when re-saved it in preview and cmpressed the size, it saved it as 11 Mb.

Is there any way how to save/print it to pdf and create smaller file and be able to send it via mail for example? I mean, is it possible to do that with the basic Mac OS X feature, not with some app.

P.S.: I've found few questions about the same problem here on forum and somewhere else, but the questions were asked in previous versions of Mac OS X. I'm using latest version of everything...
