Last year I bought a new MacBook Pro which it had included (installed) Lion. I didn't receive any CD or DVD on the Macbook Box. now I would like to change my HDD to a new SSD and I wonder how to reinstall LION on it.Â

I accidently deleted some file on my computer that wouldn't let me start up my MacBook pro, 13 Inch, so I had to press Command- R at start up (brought me to Lion Recovery) and I choose reinstall lion and I started it yesterday morning and all day and over night. It's barely half way through and it says "148 Hours Left" which is crazy.. Should I just wait? is this normal? what do I do?

I inadvertently deleted my OSX 10 Lion operating system on my Mac Mini -- tried redownloading it but continually received an automated response saying something like ".... unable to download the software, try again later"  That is not an exact quote but close. I tried several times to download the software but always received the same message. I did verify that WIFI was up and working properly on my separate laptop.

I have purchased and downloaded iMovie from the Mac App store. However now I'm getting an error everytime it launches: Â The QuickTime components necessary to view, edit, import, and export several kinds of movies are not installed. These components are included with the iMovie installer; re-install.Â
I'm happy to reinstall iMovie- but I got it from the app store. When I visit the iMovie page on the app store, it says "installed" and gives me NO options to re-install. Seems pretty short-sighted on Apple's part.

Tried to reinstall op system on macbook pro (mid 2010) that came with snow leopard from a time machine backup and it didn't accept my password. I did the upgrade from Snow Leopard to Lion. I've been having random issues like it seems to go to sleep (all monitors go black) and when I close the lid; the light goes on (but doesn't blink like normal sleep). Or during wake-up from sleep, after everything appears, it does the same thing. The only thing I can do it hold down the power button, wait, and restart. Today I'm on my 4 1/2 crash/reboot. (.5 because during a reboot, it locked up again.) I was thinking that maybe a re-install might fix something, but I'm not sure. When I originally did the upgrade, I had a DisplayLink driver installed which Lion moved to the Unsupported folder; don't know if this is part of my problem or not.Â

my system preferences froze on me a couple weeks ago while i was trying to change my screen saver. i've forced quit the program and computer, but when i boot back up, and reopen system preferences it opens up where it froze in the backgrounds settings. yesterday i shot down to see my buddy at future shop and he tried a few things and nothing changed. he called apple and they said this issue has come up a few times now. they recomended to delete a few uneeded files in the program or reinstalling the operating system. we deleted the files and nothing happened. so he told me how to reinstall the OS. i said goodbye because he left for cuba today. now i have time to do the reinstall and dont remember how he said to do this.

I have been trying to reinstall Lion OS without luck. First I tried through the app store, downloaded successfully, but then crashed what appeared to be about the end of the installation. It was at the point of installing the os on my hard drive when the black box style screen came up telling me to do a force reboot. Did the same thing and it locked up again. On a third try I used a Jump drive which had Lion os on it and the screen just sits at the "installing X" screen but its been hours and I can tell the Hard drive is not spinning and it almost sounds like the Mac is asleep.

I recently upgraded the internal disc in my MacBook Pro 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. I had a 320GB and put it a Western Digital Scorpio Blue 500GB. I didn't have the install disc and used the restore option in disk utility to copy files to the new drive before inserting it. It now works, but it's slow to load-up. How do I reinstall my OS, to optimise it? I've lost my original install disc and have since upgraded to Lion 10.7.4Â BTW - my new drive also has some strange noises and I'd like to replace this with a new one ASAP.
