The latest update for Java is causing issues on our website, disabling Mac users on OS 10.6 and 10.7 from uploading or downloading images using a java applet. We know it is being cause by these recent updates:Java for OS X 2012-004 or Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 9.Is there any fix for this or a way to revert back to the previous version of Java, without having to re-install Mac OS? We are currenlty at a loss of how to address this issue and we have many users impacted.
I am trying to use Business Objects through the web and unfortunately Java 7 is not compatible. I was able to downgrade to Java 6u65 (Java 1.6.0_65) but I really need update 45 to get Business Objects to work. Terminal code and/or a download that will allow me to pull out Java version 6u45? (Java 1.6.0_45)?
I've been on here trying several other's codes and it says permission denied or "unable to find any JVM versions matching 1.6.0_45"
Could that mean I don't have version 6u45 available to me period?

I have OSX version 10.6.8. When I run software update, it tells me my software is up to date. On my other Macbook Pro, I have 10.9.4. I realize that I will have to run a series of updates to get from 10.6 to 10.9 but why won't software update allow me to update to the next OS version in the sequence?
I can't download the new version of java that is required to log into my bank account, what java do I need? The software update cannot find any updates.
Does anyone know if Web based Java games on the old white macbooks with the intel graphics improve when switching from the 32bit version of Java to Java 6 with 64bits?
I'm operating on a MacBook Air that i recently updated to OS X 10.9.2. Along with the update, Java 7 was installed. I need to have Java 6 Update 20 installed to use some programs on this computer for work. I've gotten the files to install that update, but when I attempt to do so I receive a message stating that I cannot install on my disk. A newer version is already installed.
I've gone into finder > Go to Folder and deleted the Java folder after uninstalling java in the first place. This has not fixed my issue.
In mid august i received an update notice to update my macbook pro, i updated to safari 7.0.6...since then when i scan on my photsmart D110, my scanned photos do not transfer to iphoto. I am receiving a message about files be not readable.
I'm trying to begin indexing for family history work, but whenever I try to install the program, a message comes up saying I need a newer version of Java. I check for system updates and my computer says there are no updates available. Is there some way I can still download this indexing program?
What has been released to install as a security update? I seem to be clicking on one web link which takes me to another and nothing to actually install. Typical Apple. Really wish I hadn't bought this MacCrap Air - I do miss my PC.
I am running OS 10.5.8 on an iMac. There is no security update issued for this operating system - it only covers 10.6. Is my comuter vulnerable? Do I need to do anything?
I was running java 1.6.0_33 on my Mac Lion and later I installed java 1.7.0_05. Now in my Java preferences I see both the Java SE available. Now my problem is when I enable Java 7(& select Enable applet plug-in and Web start applications), my JNLP file doesn't run with java web start, from Safari as well as Firefox. When I try running the jnlp using Open With option and selecting Java Web Start present in /System/Library/CoreServices, nothing happens.
When I try running the JNLP file from Terminal suing command /System/Library/CoreServices/Java Web Start.app/Contents/MacOS/Java Web Start xyz.jnlp I get following error
Java Web Start splash screen process exiting... Can not find message file : No such file or directory.
Since the flurry of 2012 updates, Java is completely broken on my Mac Pro. Java dependent apps don't start and Apple Support says to enable the apps in Java Preferences. Nice idea, but Java Preferences WILL NOT LAUNCH either. There were plenty of tools to address flashback and they DID NOT break normal day to day operations.I downloaded the package from support to try a re-installation, but it says "A newer version of Java is already installed" and offers me the option to Close. No reinstall, nothing. Apple support is at it's usual level of service on this issue, completely INVISIBLE.
iMac OS X version 10.9.4 showing Numbers '09 version 2.3. I installed Numbers version 3.2.2 on August 28, 2014. But Numbers will not permit me to open any documents in iCloud Numbers by a pop-up indicating I need the newer version of Numbers 3.2.2!!!!! When I go to AppStore to do so, it shows I installed it in August and will not permit me to get it.
I also have an iPod with the latest version

The latest software update for Mac OS X (10.6.8) upgraded the version of java from Apple and broke an application used for work. Are the previous or older versions of java available from Apple for download?
For future updates, Is there a way to modify the software update process to install the the new version but leave the old version in place?
I would like to uninstall Java from my Lion OS running MacBook Pro. *it got installed a while back while running a Java program, and due to Fashback and other holes, I would like it off of my system, other than a complete re-install, how do I remove it?

I was not seeing the Java Update show up in my Software Update, so I installed the Java Security Update 2012-001 manually. What I did not know was that I did not have Java before, and now I do. How do I remove Java and get back to a clean Mac OS X Lion installation? I have a Macbook Pro, early 2011 version.
i cannot get the latest update on my macbook pro, the software update is "Java OS X 2012-003".When i attempt, it says "The update could not be expanded, and may have been corrupted during downloading. The update will be downloaded and checked again the next time that Software Update runs".I do run Java, so i would really like this update.I did recently install a parallel program and installed Windows 7 64-bit, im not really sure if this matters but since the installations it's the first time i haven't been successful updating my software.Software updates are available for your computer.Do you want to install them? Basically the Software Update removes the most common variants of the Flashback malware. This update also configures the Java web plug-in to disable the automatic execution of Java applets.Users may re-enable automatic execution of Java applets using the Java Preferences application. If the Java web plug-in detects that no applets have been run for an extended period of time it will again disable Java applets. This update is recommended for all Mac users with Java Installed. url...
Figured it would be a little lighter to have a thread that shows that Apple's computer CAN and DO work occasionally....Here's my uptime on my i7! It wants me to reboot for Safari update, but I refuse. As of 8:42am PST, March 16, 2010:I guess currently I have the longest uptime of anyone in this thread!
