I use a HP Pro B8850 printer, but now I have changed to mac I cant find the colour settings in the printer preferences, i.e. print in greyscale only, or adjust the colour tones etc.

I have an 09 Mac Pro Nehalem, with nvida gt120 graphics card running 10.6.2 with the latest mac pro 1.4 efi and two 23 inch Apple cinema displays (the older DVI kind)
I go into system preferences>displays>color and try to adjust color on my monitors but selecting different color settings on either monitor only affects ONE monitor, the other monitor is essentially stuck at whatever color setting it is set to.
I currently have the Lion OS X working on my MacBook Pro and a HP Deskjet F4180 and I can't print in color. What changes do I need to make to enable this feature

The Lion OS I am using is not holding its preferences. For example, every time I open Preview I get the same photo and it won't hold my Mail settings either. I have unticked the box on the log in window and updated as well as settings preferences again and again.

I just added a Time Capsule to my network and my printer was working fine this morning. Now Lion says it is not connected and when I attempt to download the software from Apple it says it's not available at this time.

I have an Epson Workforce 845 Printer. It is working well. However, I am running into one annoyance. The Epson printer will take envelopes in Cassette 1. I ahve envelopes loaded there and plain letter paper in Cassette 2. When I print an envelope it is no problem. I simply in the Print dialog select the Envelope preset and it works well. However, I don't wish to select a plain paper preset *each time* I print an ordinary document. However, the Default print settings defaults to Casette1 and I see no way to force it to default to cassette 2 except when I don't select an override.

I have two printers connected to my iMac (10.7.3) and I am trying to enable printer sharing for my MacBook Air to utilize the iMac's printers. On the iMac, I go to System Prefrences > Sharing and check Printer Sharing and I ensure that both printers are being shared. Everything is checked, but the second I close the System Prefrences window, the printer sharing stops working. I go back into System Prefrences and the Printer Sharing box is unchecked.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had my MacBook Pro now for a little over 2 yrs and I was very frustrated I could not change any print options in any application. I know that the Triangle button expands print options screen but when I do, I have only two print choices. It gave me Standard or Page Attributes in Office and any other App it is Standard and Last used settings. I can't print in Draft, Best or other setting because it does not even give them as a choice. I have two high end color photo printers, Canon i9900 and Epson Photo series and an old HP830 series. Any app I tried to print from and the same thing. I tried to capture the options on the choices but it would not grab that part of the image but here is my screen shot. I searched many forums and I still get the same answer so something else is not letting me change things so I figured best to ask since I am a 20 year win user now switched to Mac. Well right after I posted this question, my wife found the answer. I never though to check the application NAME in the print setting screen. Example, in the screenshot I am using Preview. I never thought to hit the up/down arrow next to the Preview label and wouldn't you know, that is were the quality and several other settings were. I felt pretty stupid that it took 2 years to figure this out but if I posted the answer maybe someone else will not have to take as long as I did to change their print quality!

Under the General tab, in Snow Leopard it used to list the printing protocol / url used to connect to a printer. In Lion it doesn't show that information anymore. Is there a way to still find out what protocol the print queue is trying to print via?

I am new to Macs. I recently setup a router (D-Link 655) and attached my Lexmark E260dn printer to it using a static IP address 192.168.0.100. I added a printer to my MBP but when I print something it seems to take an unusually long time to find the printer. The printer dialog says "looking for printer" until it actually starts to print. I added the same printere to my aging Windows XP system using the install CD and it works as you would expect. Files begin printing immediately. What might I be doing wrong from the MBP?

When I open a video which I have altered the AV settings on in another program, the settings revert to the initial settings. Can I edit the color and brightness settings permanently in Quicktime 7?

before switching to Mac, I used an "X-Rite Eye One Display 2" color meter device with software. You can find them most places like Amazon for about $150. The device should still work, but I can't find any software for it for the Mac. After going to the X-Rite web site, I could find no software at all for the Mac as it is only windows based.
Surely someone out there has used a color meter such as this one as they are quite popular especially for graphics artists that use professional graphic monitors. I am hoping someone can tell me how to use my color meter (USB), what software for Mac Leopard I need and how to save the color profile in the Mac OS.

Why on earth would this be...could it be something simple as the black ink cartridge straight out of the box has ink problems? I've re-seated the black just to make sure, but seriously prints nothing in black...only color!
