I have read previous discussions on this (2011) and used disk utility to clear permissions, but cannot find any mail.plist in Library
I composed an email today and it didn't like the way I configured the addresses. I got an error message saying the message couldn't be sent because of the address format. Now, every time I send an email, no matter to whom, that error pops up. My correctly addressed emails go out just fine. How do I get rid of it? Where do I find the draft to delete it so the program doesn't keep trying to send? (It's not in my draft folder)

What happens when the error message in the Mail program is long that you cannot get to the bottom of it? I cannot click it or even access this email from a folder or mailbox to delete it. Am I going to be stuck with it for eternity???

I just opened a FC project in 6.0 from an XML file for the first time. The project originally came from 6.0.6 and I was happy to see that this kind of reversion was actually possible. Unfortunatly after doing a little work I started getting "general error" messages whenever I tried to save the project or render any transitions.
If I remeber correctly, I opened the XML and was asked to save a new project. I saved the project and started working. I dont remeber if any saves or rendering had worked in the new project before I got the error messages. Maybe none of them worked, I am not sure.
When I am trying to import images into Aperture 3.4.5. I get the message:
- You don’t have permission to save the file “nilpe” in the folder “Användare”.
- To view or change permissions, select the item in the Finder and choose File > Get Info.
To my knowledge there is no account nilpe on this computer, the account name I use is different.Somehow Aperture has mixed up permissions.(Have run the "Repair Disk Permissions" in Disk Utility.app and restarted, without any effect)(Mac Pro with Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63), start up disc is a SSD and the Aperture Library is on another disk.I have previously imported thousands of images into Aperture, I am at a loss as to why this has suddenly appeared.

I have just changed my ISP on my windows 98 machine. Now I am working on the mac and trying to download a message with Mail but it is not working. The computer is connected to the internet ok and I can see the message in my webmail in Safari but it will not download. I have changed my account details in mail preferences but obviously I have missed something. The help file told me to check my network preferences but when I click on that, a dialog box keeps dropping down from the top to tell me "my network settings have been changed by another application" and there is a tab to click "ok". That is all and when I click that, it runs over and over again and doesn't let me do anything else. I don't know what has been altered but I do not want to alter any settings to my broadband connection because that works fine. That is the main trouble I have with a mac.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am migrating my mail and archive folders from Mail to iCloud. I moved 20+ folders and over 8k messages with no problem by dragging and dropping the folder from 'On my mac' section to 'iCloud' section in Mail. The last two folders were the largest with over 1.5k in each folder. Over 1200 of the messages in each went in to iCloud without a hitch. Then I got this error:
The IMAP command “APPEND” (to [mail box name]) failed with server error: Message contains NUL characters.
There are 149 messages left in one folder and 203 in another folder. Try as I might, it will not work. I tried Rebuild mailbox option in menu and exported to Mail and mbox format and then re-importing. Still does not work.
Since yesterday, I've been getting this strange error message when opening Mail. It happens on my two Macs at home as well as my Mac at work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSince updating Safari recently to 5.1.5, if I choose the Mail Link to This Page command, instead of opening Mail.app with a new email with the link pasted in, it launches Google Chrome and, in Chrome, goes to the email login page for Google webmail. If I choose the Mail Contents of This Page command, I get an error message stating: "Safari can't create an email message because Google Chrome.app doesn't support sending webpages from Safari. You can use the Mail application included with Mac OS X to send webpages." Safari is set as my default browser. This behavior started immediately after the 5.1.5 update.I use these commands pretty regularly and, through many version of mail.app and Safari, there has never been a glitch. Any ideas, folks? Or is this a bug introduced by 5.1.5 or some other recent Software Update? (Software updates are completely up to date and on 10.7.3.)

I cannot put my Apple ID in the users preferences. Full name is as a user is ok, user is administrator. Logging in with my ID works fine on itunes, Apple, iCloud by Safari,.. but I cannot log into iCloud in the preferences (so not synchronize my address book, calendar,..), and cannot fill in the Apple ID in the user preferences. On my other Mac, on my iphone and Ipad all works fine.. Behind the Apple ID: Set.. it gives: The operation could not be completed. Csidentityerrordomain -100.

I've been without use of Time Machine for sometime (months) now. I've been getting the following error:
My backup drive (Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex - 320GB) was a attached to my Airport Extreme, but in desperation I moved it to being directly attached to my MBP. I've also excluded large number of files from the back up (reduced the full backup size to half the size of the backup disk). Also, I've erased and reformatted the back up disk - twice. No errors on it either.
What would be really helpful, was if there was some indication as to WHAT the problem actually is. This is a rather ambiguous error message, which does little to help a person to troubleshooot. It seems like the backup is being hung up on a file or files...but I'm just guessing.
Has anybody out there run into this? If so, what was your solution?

Often I just put my Macbook Pro with Lion OS to sleep manually, instead of shutting down. Since the upgrade to OS Lion, when I return to the computer I often am greeted with a message that I could not be logged out because Firefox failed to quit. Is sleep a logout? I don't intend to logout...though I do require a password to regain access after the computer enters the sleep state. This is a consistent issue with Lion, which never occurred with the earlier OS.

Since upgrading to Lion, I have been having problems backing up to Time Machine using a LaCie external disk. Time Machine worked fine before the upgrade to Lion. The backup usually starts correctly, but after backing up around 1GB, I get the following error message: "The disk was not ejected properly. If possible, always eject a disk before unplugging or turning it off". The disk has over 80GB of space available.

I am getting a pop up error message with a yellow triangle and yellow exclamation point in Safari but it immediately disappears after it appears.
