Jun 16, 2012I can't download any widgets from apple's dashboard widget download page.I click on the "download" button of a selected widget, and it immediately takes me to the homepage of all apple downloads without doing anything.I've tried on safari & firefox, but the same thing happens.I just bought this computer the other day, so I'm running the latest versions of everything.

But the problem that i faced its first time failed to download, then i redownload it again but the buttom it blank I cant click on it to download it. Apr 12, 2012Says the software may have been tampered with or corrupted during download. I am NOT some computer hack, just a regular guy who bought a simple product to download and it doesn't work. Total BS and waste of my time. I'm not interested in saving my download to an ext HD, or partitioning my HD, or some other funky work-around. I want to know why this software will not load straight away as advertised? I have S/L, v 10.6.8 and the required RAM and disc space.

Jun 23, 2014I have just replaced the hard drive in my iMac due to buying it second hand with a faulty hard drive. (little to my knowledge)
When i reset the computer to factory settings and cleared the original hard drive and tried to install Mavericks it would always stop downloading at 1.02gb and say calculating. After clearing caches and preferences rebooting and trying again the same thing would happen every time. Now I have had a new HD installed into the iMac and the same issue is happening. What could be causing this? I have been on the phone numerous times with Apple Support and no one seems to have any clue why this would be happening. I have also installed all the updates available for this computer. Â

MacBook Pro :: How To See Download % And Time Remaining (like Windows)
Jun 28, 2014I've just got myself a nice new Mac Pro and am really surprised to find that it is more different to Windows than I was expecting.   I feel like a toddler trying to learn a new language to do all the things I am used to doing on Windows.Â
Quite often I just Google my Q's....or search on YouTube, and usually get the answers quickly.
I can't seem to find a specific answer for this Q though.....
On Windows, whenever you downloaded something, you were given a % telling you how much had been downloaded and how much was left still. It also gave you the progress in gb / kb.Surely there must be a way of having this info show whenever I download something ? I really do not want to go to the App Store and start buying things.

Mar 10, 2012Whether through the App Store or the Apple download page, it starts to download, gets a certain way through, and then just stops. In the App Store, after awhile I get a message that Software Update can't connect to the update server. On the Apple.com download page, it just stops downloading. I don't think it's our internet connection, because the update worked just fine for our other iMac (which is older than the one I'm having trouble with).

May 31, 2012I've got a 2011 mac mini server, it's currently got Windows server 2008 R2 installed on it.I'd like to run OSX Lion Server as a virtual machine. But I need a .iso (preferably) to be used to install the operating system.Because I didn't receive any installation discs with the mac, I dont have a copy up front.What's the easiest way for me to get an .iso of OSX Lion Server without needing to use the app store.(Currently it's not easy for me to be able to boot into OSX, because I have it set up as a remote machine and I only have windows installed).

Mar 11, 2012I have a MacBook Air and a Time Capsule - both from november 2011.Using Time Machine is givning me som problems.It works fine for some days, an is backing up as planned.But at least 5 times since I got the Time Capsule, Time Machine is asking to make a full Backup, and when I look in Time Machine, it says that there is no "old backup". It has been runing since november 2011.When I start a new backup, as it ask for, it takes at least 24 hours to finish - some times even longer.Is this normal? If not, what do I do?

MBP backs up everything on internal hard drive to Time Capsule at home, where we live during summer and spring. When moving to vacation home in fall and winter, MBP backs up everything to Time Capsule in vacation home.Â
During the 6 months at each residence, the backups work great to the Time Capsule at that particular house. However, after some time (maybe a week?), Time Machine displays an error in Notification Center: "Time Machine can't complete backup to Home Time Capsule" (when in vacation home) or "Time Machine can't complete backup to Vacation Time Capsule" (when at home).Â
It's obvious that this occurs because Time Machine was set to back up to 2 Time Capsules and expects both of them to be reachable. Is there a way to suppress these Time Machine errors for the time that we're away from one of the Time Capsules?

Jul 2, 2012I have an iMac running the latest version of Lion (10.7.4) and which I have upgraded to a one terabyte hard drive and full memory capability. I back up to a My Book 2 terabyte external hard drive using Time Machine. My iMac is often very sticky, though I've done most of the diagnostics I know of and preferences etc. are seemingly all OK and fcuk -fs gives a positive result! The Mac is often hard to wake from sleep and in particular seems to spend a lot of time backing up very-very slowly, with the result that it frustratingly seems to be backing up most of the time with the consequent effects on using other programs. Also the whole thing seems to grind to a halt after a hard days work with quite a few applications open. I'm wondering what can be causing this and what I can do to overcome this very frustrating and debilitating problem?

May 20, 2012I have updated to 10.7.4, and now Time Machine does not work on my Time Capsule. I have erased all backups using the Airport Utility. When I try to run Time Machine, the disk is mounted, files are calculated, backup starts, then stops, and no backup is done. Also, no error messages.Â

Jun 25, 2012have a MacBook Pro 15" 10.7.4 which isn't working with TimeMachine any more When starting a backup, Time Machine tells me to backup 112kB (for example) .... an running and running, and after a short time "2kB from 112kB" ... and runnig and running and then "5kb from 112kB" and so on. The progress status is updating very slowly.Â
The weired thing is: the ".inProgress" file on the external hard drive (tried FireWire and USB connection) is growing to 85GB (the total used space on the hard drive) while Time machine status tells me it has saved some kB. And every backup is running in that way. Instead of backing up only the difference, all files where backuped - although the status is displaying a few 100kB - which should be the right size to backup.Â
- Repaired permissions > Same error
- Tried installing combo update > Same error
- Tried another external hard drive > Same error
- Tried cloning system to different hd > Same error
- excluded the Users home folder > Same error
- Interal hard drive speed > Over 70MB/s > OK
- External hard drive speed > Over 70 MB/s > OKÂ
So had to be something with the System itself.
