OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: Iphoto Froze After Importing While Deleting Photos From Card?
Apr 16, 2012
iphoto froze after importing while deleting photos from card. Then when i force quit, the photos were not on iphoto and were also deleted from memory card. what can i do to get photos back?
Iphoto froze so I forced it to quit several times. Then i did a safe boot and restated machine. It would then open but all photos are gone. How do I restore them?

I can't import my photos from my iPhone using iPhoto. I used to plug in my iPhone and iPhoto would open up automatically and ask me if I wanted to import my photos, but now it won't do that anymore. So, I open it manually and sometimes my iPhone shows up in the program, but now it doesn't even show up anymore. It showed up yesterday but it said I had no photos on my iPhone, (which is wrong being I have over 300 ready to import).
I tried updating iPhoto but the only update is for iLife 09 and I don't have the money for it, (nor the want). I also looked in iPhoto's preferences and there wasn't anything relating to importing from devices.
My iPhone is recognized by iTunes, and I am able to Sync it, but iPhoto won't even acknowledge it currently.
Right now, I'm going to update my iPhone 3G to the current update and see if that helps iPhoto recognize it.
I used to think it was my imagination but I checked last night and I have files that appear darker when imported to iPhoto than they do when I open the original in Preview... what setting can I change to stop it doing this?
I am seriously annoyed about an otherwise excellent application: I just imported a couple of pictures from my camera into iPhoto using the Image Capture app. I sometimes like to do it this way to review the images and movies before importing. Now I had serious problems on two occasions:
1. There was a raw file on the camera, which iPhoto couldn't process, of course 2. Apparently I closed the Image capture application too soon - after I did so, iPhoto complained about not having enough storage space, although there's more than enough space on the hard drive
Regrettably I had the "delete after import" box checked. Meaning, my photos are gone now! Or, are they? Where does Image capture put them and will they still be there? If not, where can I file a bug for Image Capture?

I have a new MacBookPro using Max 10.6 and IPhoto 8.1. I am trying to import photos from my old computer (a 2007 MacBook) but IPhoto is quiting unexpectedly.
I've been trying to clean up a bunch of duplicates but when I highlight a photo and then take the option "move to trash" it simply moves the highlight to the next photo but the system acts as though I have moved the first photo to trash as the option to move to trash is now unavailable. I am running snow leopard but I am sure I have performed this task before in this version of the OS. Dragging a photo to trash simply doesn't work.
After installing Snow Leopard on both of my computers, I have found that while the computers recognize my digital camera it will not allow me to import photos into i-photo and eventually you have to just force quit i-photo to get out of it.
I recently switched over to a Mac from a PC which I've had for years. Since I never had a photo storage program on my PC, all my photos were kept in folders on my hard drive. When I got my Mac, all my photos were imported into iPhoto and now I simply use iPhoto for everything I upload. My question is, can I delete the old photos (now imported into iPhoto but still on my hard drive in seperate folders) from my hard drive to save space without deleting them from iPhoto? I checked my settings and I do have the "copy to iPhoto library" option checked but I don't know if that makes a difference. Any information would be helpful - it would be nice if I knew I could delete photos that are essentially duplicates to save space on my hard drive.
Panasonic Lumix camera with SDHC card full of photos. iPhoto on MacBook, OSX 10.9.3 will not read either through cable or card reader. How can i retrieve these pix? Obviously picked the wrong San Disk card but now what?
While installing software update MacBook pro froze,I could see a white screen without progress bar.the external hard drive was plugged in at the time. It has been 3 hours already.I just unplugged external hard drive and don't know what to do next..
My iPhoto is empty, however when trying to upload some photos from an SD card, I get the message, "Insufficient Disk Space. iPhoto cannot upload your photos because there is not enough disk space in the volume containing your iPhoto library."
The upgrade to Lion was a bit rocky, but I've made it through. One last thing remains: all my RSS feeds.I've tried dipping into Library/Mail/V2/RSS and dragging my Snow Leopard RSS folders in there; unsuccessful. So is importing them as mailboxes, they simply populate the sidebar on the left.I realize I could manually go and find every RSS feed URL and redo everything. But I had flagged articles and organized posts for reading/reference, and all that would be lost.If anyone knows how I can 'migrate' all of my RSS feeds from my Snow Leopard backup into Lion,

I have just bought a MacMini Server (2 hard disks) built early December 2010. It comes with SL Server. My old setup was a normal version of SL.if I can import the old account from the SL version in to SLS?

After I installed Snow Leopard, I installed all of the printer drivers on the disc. It was a rather hefty size, over 1GB. Is there a way, manually or automatically, to delete all the ones I don't need? I've done a search, and a couple of places (possibly outdated) have pointed me to Library > Printers, and that all the printer drivers should be there. When I do that, I only see the application for my own printer.............
Okay, so a few months ago I was using a tutorial on how to set up a Minecraft server on my Mac, and I went to the part about making a server daemon, which is supposed to have the server automatically running 24/7 from your computer.Well I never got that working and I don't play Minecraft anymore, but when I turn on my computer, at the login screen, it has my main User, then this _minecraft user. The _minecraft user isn't under Accounts in System Preferences, and I looked in the Users folder, it's not there either. This is the tutorial I used to make it if that helps at all [url]
I have about 20 hours of low res digicam videos sitting in iphoto. When I launch Imovie, it loads all 20 hours without asking then proceeds to quit unexpectedly if I try to do anything. Is there a way to prevent iphoto from loading all of them without deleting the videos from my iPhoto library? I have about a 30 minute video I would like to edit I'm frustrated. How about removing all those clips except the ones I care about? Can I do that? (after waiting 20-30 minutes for them to load)
I just opened my Trash bin, and there were maybe 12-15 items in ithere. But when I use Secure Delete, the pop-up box says there are 931 items, and it then proceeds to delete them---I guess.I only saw the 12-15 files, and that's it.
In my Applications Folder I have an alias Applications Folder. When I deleted the alias folder it wiped out all my applications on my hard drive.Does anyone know how I can delete the alias folder without deleting all my Applications?
When right-clicking on a file or folder I should get the contextual menu option to 'Move to Trash'. Instead, the item is deleted immediately. Where is the setting that could have changed this?
When I put the photo disc in the drive, my iMac will read it if I go and open it with the Finder. However, iPhoto does not prompt me to import the photos like it does when I insert a memory card. How can I get those photos from the disc into iPhoto? Also, how do I eject the disc when I am done?
I have some pics that I want to put titles into/onto.I am putting together a poster. The top of the poster has a picture. I want to put some text on top of/into the pic. What is a SIMPLE and EASY TO USE app where I can open the pic and type in the text and do some formatting? I do not want a 'template' app. The one's in pages don't work for this project.I want it to be able to use the fonts I have. A program that gives me limited fonts is NOT going to work. MAC OSX 10.6.8
I have 4 Discs.Mirrored raid sets One Raid Slice is 'System Mirror'One Raid Slice is 'Data Mirror' There is a lock symbol on all 4 discs. Status is online. I can't delete the raid sets. I can't unmount them. I am the admin but the Disk Utility says "Deleting RAID set failed. Deleting RAID set failed with the error: Invalid Request"
I received my iMac 27" i7, 8GB RAM with the ATI Radeon HD 4850 Graphics Card.
All was going well (well-ish. Got the 27" yellowing fever, but i'll worry about that later) until I tried to import photos from my Nikon D700 DSLR Camera.
I plug the camera into the computer as I have always done with my previous mac but the computer doesn't mount the camera so I can import things. I tried importing with Nikon's Tranfer Software, Adobe Lightroom, and iPhoto and none of them recognised the camera.
I know the camera isn't the problem because I can still import from the camera to another iMac ('07 or '08 model i think).
The computer that will import is running the latest version of Leopard, with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor. My 27" is running the latest version of Snow leopard.
