iphoto froze after importing while deleting photos from card. Then when i force quit, the photos were not on iphoto and were also deleted from memory card. what can i do to get photos back?

Iphoto froze so I forced it to quit several times. Then i did a safe boot and restated machine. It would then open but all photos are gone. How do I restore them?

I can't import my photos from my iPhone using iPhoto. I used to plug in my iPhone and iPhoto would open up automatically and ask me if I wanted to import my photos, but now it won't do that anymore. So, I open it manually and sometimes my iPhone shows up in the program, but now it doesn't even show up anymore. It showed up yesterday but it said I had no photos on my iPhone, (which is wrong being I have over 300 ready to import).
I tried updating iPhoto but the only update is for iLife 09 and I don't have the money for it, (nor the want). I also looked in iPhoto's preferences and there wasn't anything relating to importing from devices.
My iPhone is recognized by iTunes, and I am able to Sync it, but iPhoto won't even acknowledge it currently.
Right now, I'm going to update my iPhone 3G to the current update and see if that helps iPhoto recognize it.
I used to think it was my imagination but I checked last night and I have files that appear darker when imported to iPhoto than they do when I open the original in Preview... what setting can I change to stop it doing this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am seriously annoyed about an otherwise excellent application: I just imported a couple of pictures from my camera into iPhoto using the Image Capture app. I sometimes like to do it this way to review the images and movies before importing. Now I had serious problems on two occasions:
1. There was a raw file on the camera, which iPhoto couldn't process, of course
2. Apparently I closed the Image capture application too soon - after I did so, iPhoto complained about not having enough storage space, although there's more than enough space on the hard drive
Regrettably I had the "delete after import" box checked. Meaning, my photos are gone now! Or, are they? Where does Image capture put them and will they still be there? If not, where can I file a bug for Image Capture?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to clean up a bunch of duplicates but when I highlight a photo and then take the option "move to trash" it simply moves the highlight to the next photo but the system acts as though I have moved the first photo to trash as the option to move to trash is now unavailable. I am running snow leopard but I am sure I have performed this task before in this version of the OS. Dragging a photo to trash simply doesn't work.

After installing Snow Leopard on both of my computers, I have found that while the computers recognize my digital camera it will not allow me to import photos into i-photo and eventually you have to just force quit i-photo to get out of it.

Since I never had a photo storage program on my PC, all my photos were kept in folders on my hard drive. When I got my Mac, all my photos were imported into iPhoto and now I simply use iPhoto for everything I upload. My question is, can I delete the old photos (now imported into iPhoto but still on my hard drive in seperate folders) from my hard drive to save space without deleting them from iPhoto? I checked my settings and I do have the "copy to iPhoto library" option checked but I don't know if that makes a difference. Any information would be helpful - it would be nice if I knew I could delete photos that are essentially duplicates to save space on my hard drive.

After I installed Snow Leopard, I installed all of the printer drivers on the disc. It was a rather hefty size, over 1GB. Is there a way, manually or automatically, to delete all the ones I don't need? I've done a search, and a couple of places (possibly outdated) have pointed me to Library > Printers, and that all the printer drivers should be there. I have about 20 hours of low res digicam videos sitting in iphoto. When I launch Imovie, it loads all 20 hours without asking then proceeds to quit unexpectedly if I try to do anything. Is there a way to prevent iphoto from loading all of them without deleting the videos from my iPhoto library? I have about a 30 minute video I would like to edit I'm frustrated.How about removing all those clips except the ones I care about? Can I do that? (after waiting 20-30 minutes for them to load)

I received my iMac 27" i7, 8GB RAM with the ATI Radeon HD 4850 Graphics Card.
All was going well (well-ish. Got the 27" yellowing fever, but i'll worry about that later) until I tried to import photos from my Nikon D700 DSLR Camera.
I plug the camera into the computer as I have always done with my previous mac but the computer doesn't mount the camera so I can import things. I tried importing with Nikon's Tranfer Software, Adobe Lightroom, and iPhoto and none of them recognised the camera.
I know the camera isn't the problem because I can still import from the camera to another iMac ('07 or '08 model i think).
The computer that will import is running the latest version of Leopard, with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor. My 27" is running the latest version of Snow leopard.
