Software :: IPhoto Quits Unexpectedly After Uploading - Loses Photos
May 3, 2010I'm using iPhoto 08 (7.1.5). I just tried to upload a bunch of photos from a Canon Powershot camera. The previews showed up normally, I hit "import all," and they appeared to import normally. When it finished, it asked if I wanted to delete the originals on the camera, and I said yes. Then it gave me the "quit unexpectedly" message. When I reopened iPhoto, my new photos were not under Events, and "Last import" shows stuff I imported last week. But the photos were deleted from the camera. there's some way I can get the photos back! It did take the time to upload, so hopefully they're on my computer somewhere? I've uploaded photos with the same camera and version of iPhoto many times without problems--the only thing that's different is that this was more photos than I usually upload at once--about 150.

Aug 6, 2010I can't import my photos from my iPhone using iPhoto. I used to plug in my iPhone and iPhoto would open up automatically and ask me if I wanted to import my photos, but now it won't do that anymore. So, I open it manually and sometimes my iPhone shows up in the program, but now it doesn't even show up anymore. It showed up yesterday but it said I had no photos on my iPhone, (which is wrong being I have over 300 ready to import).
I tried updating iPhoto but the only update is for iLife 09 and I don't have the money for it, (nor the want). I also looked in iPhoto's preferences and there wasn't anything relating to importing from devices.
My iPhone is recognized by iTunes, and I am able to Sync it, but iPhoto won't even acknowledge it currently.
Right now, I'm going to update my iPhone 3G to the current update and see if that helps iPhoto recognize it.

May 8, 2008I used to think it was my imagination but I checked last night and I have files that appear darker when imported to iPhoto than they do when I open the original in Preview... what setting can I change to stop it doing this?

Jun 27, 2008I am seriously annoyed about an otherwise excellent application: I just imported a couple of pictures from my camera into iPhoto using the Image Capture app. I sometimes like to do it this way to review the images and movies before importing. Now I had serious problems on two occasions:
1. There was a raw file on the camera, which iPhoto couldn't process, of course
2. Apparently I closed the Image capture application too soon - after I did so, iPhoto complained about not having enough storage space, although there's more than enough space on the hard drive
Regrettably I had the "delete after import" box checked. Meaning, my photos are gone now! Or, are they? Where does Image capture put them and will they still be there? If not, where can I file a bug for Image Capture?

Jan 1, 2009i'm using an ibook G3 . i bought and installed tiger 10.4.11. this ibook had to have additional RAM to run the 10.4. i installed a 512mb to compliment the on board 256mb RAM. when online a dark screen drops and prompts me to restart by holding down power button till it shuts off. then hit power again to turn back on. when i turn back on it drop a window "mac os x quit... do i want to report" i click report and the window disappears, and use firefox to log back on. i tried safari , but have problems with it, firefox gets online and stays online. it will restore my session , but i lose the work. i used disk utility, both drives scanned ok. permissions as well. i've downloaded yahoo messenger 3.0 , and installed macally icecam since the 10.4 upgrade.

Jun 21, 2009For the past few days, whenever I try to open itunes, a dialogue box pops up and says, "The application iTunes quit unexpectedly. Mac OS X and other applications are not affected. Click Reopen to open the application again. Click Report to see more details or send a report to Apple."
I uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled it using a new dmg, but it still says this. I also tried uninstalling Flip4Mac and taking out the plug-ins from users/*user*/library/itunes/itunes plug-ins.

Nov 16, 2009apologies if this has been answered else-where but Ive looked and found no solutions. My problem is that I cannot access network preferences. I can access system preferences and turn my airport on/off via the toolbar, but I cannot actually open the network preferences without system preferences unexpectedly quitting. I have to access my universities VPN to read an e-book for an exam, so this is quite frustrating right now,

Mar 5, 2010It happened 3 times today and at most 20 times within the last 3 months. When using Quick Look to view movie files, the movie freezes and the Finder restarts. Kinda annoying. No error message shows up after the restart.

Jul 28, 2010When I try to launch iChat, the icon bounces once, then I am informed that "The application iChat quit unexpectedly." Clicking the "Relaunch" button twice gives me the option to "Reset and relaunch," but that does not help either.
iChat runs fine within another user account on the same machine.
I am running Mac OS X 10.5.8 on a 15" MacBook Pro 2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

Feb 4, 2012This has happened to my laptop once before and I had to replace my hard drive. First of all I'm running Tiger 10.4.11 with Safari 4.1.3. Basically I'll just be online, using Safari and suddenly it "quits unexpectedly." There's no one thing that I do that makes this happen either. The same thing was happening a while back and it began happening more an more frequently until my computer wasn't running and I had to replace my hard drive. Now its happening again!

Sep 5, 2009Has anyone experienced iChat quitting unexpectedly?
I use iChat primarily to video chat with my girlfriend who's currently away for nursing school and prior to upgrading to SL, it worked fine. I don't know if upgrading had to do anything with it, but it's really become more prominent after the upgrade. Before posting this thread, it quit 4 times while using the video chat.
I would post the error details to see if anyone can decipher something out of it, but I don't want to unless it's needed.
But yeah, has anyone experienced it and if you have, would you happen to know a fix or if a fix is on the way from Apple?

I have a project i need to do and anytime i click on the music icon or try to open any music it quits unexpectedly. Origninally it was letting me open the music and play it and would only quit when i tried to drag the clip over. I somehow accidently changed the view to the album covers and now it wont even open. Any ideas how to fix this so i can add music to my project.?
