Jun 1, 2012I just installed some routine updates for my Mac and now I can't receive any mail in my apple mail program. It is version 4.5 and I am using a mobile me account. I have never had any problems before and obviously very annoyed. I know I can access it view the web but I like apple mail. I am able to send.

all settings are correct (checked with provider). I can recieve on iphone, ipad etc, just not on my mac mail (although i can send email).
reset all email passwords and rebooted. Outgoing mail server is POP.

Jun 3, 2010I just got my Mac last week and ever since then I haven't been able to send mail from one account. I can both receive and send from my gmail account. My EDU account can only receive mail, and not send it. I've tried resetting the information, and even deleted the account a few times. All of the servers and ports are exactly like the school website says they should be.

Sep 2, 2009Just installed Snow two days ago. Runs great, so far. As of today, when I try to send mail from Mac Mail, something strange happens every so often.
I get a message saying it can't send the message because the SMTP options have not been set. They are in fact set, and Mail has been functioning normally until installing Snow.
Anyone having this problem, and how did you fix? All my server settings are in place so I'm not sure what else to change.

When using Pop i could recieve but couldnt send and now im using http plug in and can send but cannot recieve i use hotmail.co.uk as .com in my email address. I would really appreciate if somebody could help me out i know if i join google problem solved but had my hotmail account for a long time and been ex RAF its the easiest way to get friends from my past getting in touch.

Sep 5, 2008I've been trying to set up a new email account using apple mail Version 2.1.3 (753.1) using mac osx version 10.4.11. My out going mail server is Sky. However,it is not a sky email address and i'm having real problems getting it to work. The account has been set up and i can recieve email but not send email. When i try to send an email i get the following message.
The server response was: 5.5.1 [URL]
or
The SMTP server �smtp.tools.sky.com� rejected the password for user �Blah blah�
Please re-enter your password, or cancel.
I did this and clicked on ok but that box just reappears. I know that the password is correct.

Aug 27, 2014My apple mail version 7.3 has never had any problems connecting with my gmail account, but recently whenever I try to send an email, it goes straight to the outbox and then a popup saying "Gmail cannot connect to the server" or something like that comes up. It asks me to enter my password, and I do and then it just pops up the same error again. I have tried changing my password and made sure I am entering it correctly but it just does not work. I can receive mail fine.
