May 6, 2009im new to this Mac game and spent a couple of days doing my research going through all the forums trying to enable mail on my macbook using my hotmail account. When using Pop i could recieve but couldnt send and now im using http plug in and can send but cannot recieve i use hotmail.co.uk as .com in my email address. I would really appreciate if somebody could help me out i know if i join google problem solved but had my hotmail account for a long time and been ex RAF its the easiest way to get friends from my past getting in touch.

Aug 27, 2014My apple mail version 7.3 has never had any problems connecting with my gmail account, but recently whenever I try to send an email, it goes straight to the outbox and then a popup saying "Gmail cannot connect to the server" or something like that comes up. It asks me to enter my password, and I do and then it just pops up the same error again. I have tried changing my password and made sure I am entering it correctly but it just does not work. I can receive mail fine.

Jun 3, 2010I just got my Mac last week and ever since then I haven't been able to send mail from one account. I can both receive and send from my gmail account. My EDU account can only receive mail, and not send it. I've tried resetting the information, and even deleted the account a few times. All of the servers and ports are exactly like the school website says they should be.

Jun 8, 2012I had an active @mac.com address and made a smooth transition to iCloud some months ago. My iCloud apple identity is my @mac.com address but since Sunday, I cannot send or receive emails with this address, only with my @me.com address. Same for iMac, iPhone and iPad.I have now spent two long phone calls with the apple help number. I then had a fast track on-line conversation with someone today for another hour to have it escalated to a senior advisor. They have tried to sort out the problem unsuccessfully - am sure they will have another go on Monday. In the meanwhile, is there anyone who has had the same problem before? I have tried changing my password on iCloud, deleting and reinstalling my iCloud on my iPhone but nothing has worked.
