I've tried the various fixes, including Java prefs, restarting mail and computer, re-installing Java....but still can't see the mail attachments. I send or receive. I get the "missing plug in" message...

As of yesterday my Mac will no longer send or receive emails that have attachments on them. It doesn't matter the size or format of the attachment, nothing happens. It shows as Sent but it doesn't get to the recipient and I can't receive either.

I need to delete ALL settings in Mail...
I have an issue where I can receive mail but cannot send mail to any yahoo account on this Macbook Pro.
My other devices (other macs) work just fine.
This particular Mac - gets a 554 Error (229) under my user when I send mail to Yahoo. But under Guest, it works just fine.
I've deleted my account (gmail) and reinstalled it - but the error keeps coming back.
There must be some setting cached somewhere that reverts the settings back.

all settings are correct (checked with provider). I can recieve on iphone, ipad etc, just not on my mac mail (although i can send email).
reset all email passwords and rebooted. Outgoing mail server is POP.
I am a graphic designer and I used Lokiware's Attachment Tamer prior to Yosemite. Now that the software is not available für this version of mail (and it seems doubtful that it ever will be) I went back to using Mail without it.
Ever since, some of my clients (using PCs) don't seem to be able to recieve attachments in JPG-Format from me. They just don't show up at their end, as if I wouldn't have attached them in the first place. Putting the files in an ZIP is a workaround, but a very clumsy and frustrating one. Other file formats, such as PDF show up just fine. For a few other clients it still works.

I just got my Mac last week and ever since then I haven't been able to send mail from one account. I can both receive and send from my gmail account. My EDU account can only receive mail, and not send it. I've tried resetting the information, and even deleted the account a few times. All of the servers and ports are exactly like the school website says they should be.

View 1 Replies View RelatedUntil have till now just used fileflow to send pictures, cause when attaching them to mail - it just seems to stick into the mail- and hard to get out for pc users - And if they manage - the filesize seems to have been scaled down.
pdf - ai - psd etc works perfect as attachments. but jpg - no !
also when i try to show the icon - i get claims from my recipients...
Does anyone have a smart advice for me to get full scale jpgs as full readable attachements, no matter who recieves it ?
I've looked over the settings and can't figure out what's going on.

However,it is not a sky email address and i'm having real problems getting it to work. The account has been set up and i can recieve email but not send email. When i try to send an email i get the following message.

I did this and clicked on ok but that box just reappears. I know that the password is correct.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy apple mail version 7.3 has never had any problems connecting with my gmail account, but recently whenever I try to send an email, it goes straight to the outbox and then a popup saying "Gmail cannot connect to the server" or something like that comes up. It asks me to enter my password, and I do and then it just pops up the same error again. I have tried changing my password and made sure I am entering it correctly but it just does not work. I can receive mail fine.

I am new to Mac so please bear with my incompetence. I have managed to find the plugin HTTPMail to add to Apple Mail in enable the use of my hotmail account in this software. Strangely, though, I cannot see any emails (i.e. it has not synchronised any of my folders/mails), I cannot receive any, BUT I have tried sending one and it actually worked.
