OS X V10.7 Lion :: How To Edit A Distribution List
Feb 20, 2012If I have a "group" in Address book, how do I edit "which" email is the address to use for each user in that group? Back in Snow Leopard, there was a discussion article that said iCloud broke the ability to edit a distribution list, but that it would likely be fixed in Lion. how to do this in Lion? No matter what I do, that option is greyed-out in my Edit menu.

Jun 14, 2012I am having to manually re-add all the .ics files to each users shared calendar through iCal. I want to generate a list of users and their GUID's and I think dscl is the right tool. I don't have great bash skills nor can I get dscl to jump through hoops. I can get individual GUID's for a user using # dscl /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1/ -read /Search/Users/username but waht I would like to do is generate a list of all the users and their GUIDS ?how I can do that?

Jul 2, 2012Seems to be Firefox related, but I think it simply should not be possible within the Mac OS (10.6.8): I have used Firefox for years, but since I updated to version 13, this is what happens: My son has an account under parental control, and he is allowed to use selected applications one of which is Firefox Now after the update every time he launches Firefox, he gets a message he is not allowed to use it. Even when I enter my name and password to permit Firefox "forever" to launch, the message comes again... And again. If I select "once", Firefox launches.
And no matter what I try, as soon as there was one attempt to launch Firefox on my son's account, the related checkbox in the Parental Controls is unchecked again. So what is going on here? Could this be caused by a corrupted file (maybe containing the list of allowed applications), and how could I repair that?

Mar 26, 2012I am trying to extract only email addresses out of Mac Mail so I can then use as input into address book or a mass mailer app. I have about 10,000 emails that need to be scanned. I have found an applescript at[URL].. which seems to have the right intent but not being an applescript expert when I run it it only creates a new workbook with the correct column headings and no content. I point it at the right mailbox. I have about 7 different mailboxes which hold emails received about a particular product which is the title of the mailbox (eg red product, black product). I figure I can produce an excel file for each mailbox and then join them togetehr adding a new column called product and populating it for the added products.

Apr 1, 2012I'm suddenly unable to send an email. For no apparent reason, I now get the message:
"The SMTP server “smtp.me.com” rejected the password for user “jt0229” Enter your password again or cancel."
I don't even know what this password is. From what I can tell, it's not the same pw as for "me.com".
