Using Imac 10.6.3. I have accidentally created more than required untitled groups below all contacts in Address Book. Seek assistance in deleting the untitled group.

I have created a group from my iCloud contacts, but do not see how to send an e-mail message to this group. Â
View 2 Replies View RelatedI had a class of 25 students email me from their mobile phones all using the same subject. Now I'd like to create a mailing list / group so that I can easly contact all of them if need be. I tried creating a new group and dragging all of the emails into it to no avail. I also tried right clicking and checking the menus to see if there were any options which there weren't.Â
I'd be open to using automator or something similar if it worked.Â
Whenever I insert a cd, it shows up on the desktop as "Untitled CD.fpbf" and I can not burn my data or music. Since then I have not been able to use it. It happens with every different Cd that tried.

all About 20mins ago a shortcut appeared in my Finder sidebar, for something called Untitled CD. Instead of having an eject button next to it, like an actual cd would have, this has a black and yellow wheel next to it. This is of particular annoyance to me, as i am now unable to burn any CD's. Instead a message pops up saying burn is currently in use by another program. I have tried everything to delete it, but it just wont go! Whats more interesting is that I have a macbook air, and the icon appears even when my external dvd drive isn't plugged in.

#1 - I'm using 10.6.8 - Snow Leopard (right?), so do I need to upgrade to Lion to completely sync with the Cloud? My iPhone 4S doesn't sync with iCal anymore. Am I doing something wrong? I'm thinking that if I were to upgrade to Lion, that would solve the syncing issue.Â
#2 - I have two untitled calendars & the Entourage one that I want to delete. I can't figure out how to do that. Again, maybe I need to bite the bullet & upgrade to Lion so that I can sync with iCal?

I'm using Mail 4.5 and have a group of people I'll need to email regularly, most of whom aren't in my Address Book. Is there a simple way I can create a group with these contacts in it from their addresses on the last email I sent them? I don't want to enter them all into my address book inidividually.Â
View 1 Replies View RelatedHow do you address an email to a group with iCloud? I used to just type in the name of the group and all the addresses filled in. Since I've switched to iCloud it doesn't recognize the group name. If I select +, then the the group name I'm still asked to select individual recipients.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a group of designers that are connected to X Server running Snow Leopard. I have placed them in a group, "MarComm" I have granted everyone full read/write access. ( I can trust them all) I have tried to propagate these permissions..I saved the changes and restarted server. For some reason there are 2 sets of permissions.
1) full access (desired configuration)
2) "custom" access Â
This "custom" access does erratic things..for ex:Â
Allows the designer to pull off a job folder containing 12 items. He has permission to use 8 items, but not the remaining 4.Â
Perhaps I need a step by step tutorial on how to create a proper "group" and to propagate permissions. I understand that the ACL should take precedence over the POSIX. I am not well-versed in using the terminal, but I am a careful person, and willing to try it.Â

I'm running OS X Server 10.6.8 and I created a new group in Workgroup Manager and I'd like to share a group folder for that group. I created the share and when I go to set the path for the group folder, Workgroup Manager keeps sticking the actual name of the group onto the end of the folder name I'm using. I have an example below since I know it is probably hard to understand what I'm trying to describe. On the group shared tab in Workgroup Manager, it asks for a Path name. My group name is Test and the folder I want to appear on the dock for this group is called Help. For the Path name I enter Help, since that is the name of the folder I want to appear. When I save the changes and go back to look at the information I put in, the Path now says Help/Test and when I log in, I have a question mark on my dock instead of the Help folder. This used to work in 10.4 without any problems. Now 10.5 & 10.6 want to call the group shared folder whatever the name of the actual group is.

I got very OCD over the weekend and started on the task of organizing my 500+ contacts into groups. I noticed that there doesn't seem to be a view in Address Book for just showing contacts that aren't assigned a group, at least as far as I can tell. Is there a way to do that? Otherwise, I find myself re-assigning contacts because I can't remember if I had assigned them before.
If it can't be done in address book, is there a good application that will do the trick for me? I'm playing with the beta for Now X, and I'm underwhelmed at the moment.
I have a new Mailbox in Apple Mail.
Id like to import all of the incoming email into a new " Group in Contacts....
How do I set up a group in my contacts for a large group that I use often, and then how to I use it. I tried setting up a group with everyone in the group, but then I tried typing in the name of the group but it will not work. I want to click on the group and have all the group email people drop into the message, and avoid clicking on each group member..

I've recently switched from using Outlook 2007 on Fusion on my MacBook Pro to the native apps in OSX, to try to move away from having to run Windows on my machine. I decided against using Entourage as I have experienced a lot of problems with crashing and slow speeds with my Exchange server email. I'm really happy using Mail/Address Book/iCal now I have tweaked it all a bit. I've visited the Hawkwings site to download a bunch of useful Mail plug ins, and have converted to 3 pane viewing.
I would dearly love for the emails to be grouped by date, as they are in Outlook, to avoid the unbroken list of emails that I currently have. I have experimented with Smart mailboxes and rules to colour the emails so I can differentiate between received dates, but find these arrangements either impractical or fussy to look at. I receive so many emails all day, I'd really like to have an easy-view layout. The ONLY thing I miss from Outlook. Is there a plug in or similar that would create this for me?
I have created a new group for specific contacts, and I would llike to transfer that group to the contacts on my iPhone 4S. I could type in all of the entries on the iPhone, but it would take a while. Much easier if I could just send it over from my MAC Pro tower.

I tried to remove a user group from my desktop following the procedures given. I could remove all but one user.
This is the one I want to remove. How can I do this? I have 4 user groups. Why?, when ever I had trouble and called AppleCare they had me install a new user group, which I never removed.
