I mistakenly clicked on a box while in Safari and now when I click on Safari it isn't there. How can I bring it back. It's still on my dock, but when I click on it I only get the Earthlink page.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI can't access Gmail on my Macbook or iMac. They both are connected wirelessly and I have tried Firefox and Safari. Right now it's only Gmail that I can't access but sometimes it's the whole Google domain. I've got the correct DNS settings for my ISP as well as running Safari in 64-bit mode. My Windows PC (on the same router as the Macs) connects to the Google domain fine.

why i cannot drag and drop any file when using safari , and what happens the file auotmatically open while i need to upload it only , extra for that , i cannot write any remark or fill a space while using website related to my work.my work is to upload drawing files using dwf file to a website so the other parties can review and give me review , and then i reply to the remark at the same place and make meeting through the same site.please any body can give any way to correct my mac. latelly i installed win7 only to use it for that website , and iam now changing from mac to win whenever i want to work , this not acceptable to me because it is waste of time beside i like the mac and it working with other application but not for safari.

My wife and I both use Yahoo! Mail. Neither of us uses the Mail app to manage our email. How do I prevent Mail from opening when we click an email address in Safari? Is it possible to direct Safari to open a separate web browser prompting us to log in to our Yahoo! Mail?

Firstly I am sorry if this has been posted before, but I did have a look at the Snow Leopard FAQ & a browse through the current topics. And secondly, I am also sorry if I am not using appropriate computer language to describe certain things. I have a 17 inch Macbook Pro I bought in the middle of last year. Before Snow Leopard. So when Snow Leopard came along I went for the upgrade without looking around at compatibility issues with certain software.
So after the upgrade, my EyeTV didn't work, and neither did my internet (I use the ones with the USB stick). So I couldn't even go online to get my EyeTV update. So in my (brief) panick I re-installed Leopard, which wasn't a great idea I guess, because all of a sudden my HD space went down to 50GB from my 500GB of storage. Now I know I didn't have the full 500GB since I did have some photos, music & videos on board. But surely 50GB remaining is quite ridiculous. I think it probably performed a Time Machine backup for me.
Anyway... that was awhile ago. And I was happy to carry on with what I had. But now I think I would like to try what Snow Leopard has to offer. But with only 18GB of space remaining, I think the best option might be to reformat and start over. What do you guys think? My other option is to try to delete as much as I can spare to make room for Snow Leopard. Sorry if this question is a silly one, but I have done a lot of things with my iPhone & with this Mac without thinking & asking first & I have always regretted it. Thanks for any help or suggestions you all can offer.
I have mac mini (early 2009) running leopard and want to upgrade to snow leopard. I've bought a disk from a local store and when I try to install I get as far as 45 minutes to go when the installer reboots the computer and says it will continue to install after reboot. So it reboots kicks the disk out and reboots back into Leopard. The Apple site says it is probably a bad disk, so I got another one, still does the same. Apple also says it might be the dvd drive, I have no other issues with the drive, it installs the original leopard disks without problem, it reads video dvd's without problem, it verifies the snow disk as perfect.

Please help I have to print something off for classes tomorrow.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI would like to know if anyone is having trouble with Safari 5.0.6 on 10.5.8. I have a habit of walking away from my Mac with the browser still open. 9/10 when I return I get spinning pinwheels, no response period, or scripting errors. Thinking maybe my system was bogged down, I did a fresh install of the OS. That did not fix the problem. Then I made sure 10% of my 2TB drive was free and that also did not fix it.
Now I realize I can use other browsers but I prefer Safari. I was wondering if this is an isolated issue or something everyone else is experiencing since Apple no longer provides core updates to Power PCs. If its the latter then I finally got my first taste of Apple has no problem leaving you behind, starting with your Internet viewing experience.

My HP A-I-O printer is not working under SL. Tried deleting the printer in Prefs. and reinstalling the drivers a bazillion times. I even went out and bought a *new* HP printer and I'm experiencing the same problems.
Not sure why, anyone know how to fix this?

I upgraded yesterday with no probs but this morning I went to used the calculator app ( ie not the widget) and it came up instantly and told me it wouldn't work with the version? Whats that all about - a built in OS app and it doesn't work?
I was just beginning to tear my hair out with frustration when writing this to get some help and the penny dropped - chuck the dock icon away, check applications folder and hey presto calulator - launched it no probs

I just installed the wwdc Snow Leopard preview via ADC to test an ebay app I work on. Everything works fine, except for the network connections. WHile Airport can scan and pick up networks, it cannot connect to them. Ethernet is active, but it does not connect to the internet. I have send problem report to Apple, but I dont expect that it will resolve the problem soon.

When I click on the link for people who got their Mac from a retail store t loads a page asking for my Serial Number etc.... If I click the link that says "If you purchased online" all I get is a log-in and that an empty shopping cart. Am I missing something? I really don't want to mail my form in.

For example my laptop hooks to ethernet, and I usually share my internet connection from my laptop to my iPhone via wifi (long story but its the only solution I have since iPhone has no ethernet port).

After installing Snow Leopard my email messages from Entourage are not showing up in spotlight searched.
I have tried going to Preferences-> Spotlight in entourage and pressing 'rebuild' but that doesn't seem to do the trick.
Any suggestions would be appreciated, as I heavily rely on this feature.
I have tried multiple times to install and run Opera 10 on Snow Leopard on my 2007 MBP but it just won't work. The programme installs but on trying to open it, it either sits not responding or quits unexpectedly without even starting. I can't find any logical reason for this and there is no word of this on the Opera site.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor about 2 weeks, my dashboard hasn't been working properly. I've had Snow Leopard on my machine for about 2 months, so it's not directly related to the fact that I put that on my machine, but I'm not really sure what is going on. Most of the widgets are semi-unresponsive, the weather widget still gives me the weather etc., but none of the little "i" buttons work, and several of the other buttons on certain widgets don't work, making many of the widgets practically unusable. It's almost as if the widgets aren't recognizing the mouse.
I've tried deleting dashboard preferences, and then last night I reinstalled snow leopard, none of which made any difference. I also tried using pacifist to re-install dashboard, still nothing. I really don't want to have to do a clean install just for the dashboard, I'm using a 1.83 ghz intel macbook (2006)
I have had Snow Leopard for a while now but recently I realised that there was one feature I didn't seem to have....and that is put away. It just does not show in the right click menu on any of my items in my trash. Option clicking the file also does not show this menu.
