I have read the 3 or 4 discussions on flashing the 4890. I just ordered one and plan on doing a clean install of snow leopard and installing the card at the end of the week. However, some of the links from rapid share don't appear to be working. Can some one point me to where these files have moved and are there an snow leopard specific files?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI received the Snow Leopard upgrade disc, single license for Christmas. I Installed the software, and i noticed my icons were changed for the finder and dashboard. I couldn't use my candy bar anymore since the free trial was done, so i decided to download and try liteicon. I changed the icons back and deleted the application. Now My computer when i try to download the updates for snow leopard upon restart it wont boot past the grey screen with the apple logo and the loading gear. The only way i can restart or turn the computer on after being shut down is by booting on the disc and reinstalling the snow leopard again. What the heck can be wrong here?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am running snow leopard on the 27" imac and for some reason when i try dragging files onto the USB that i have inserted it does not let me copy the files? It doesn't do that with the other USBs i don't understand why this one is not letting it copy. It reads it fine.

I was one of the unlucky ones to get this Trojan bug so decided to erase my disk and reload the system. In doing so, I did a lot of dragging from the backup to the new system not knowing how to restore and I did not want to bring this bug with the restore. So, here are my issues so far I am unable to resolve. Â
Address Book and Calendar are empty and I am unable to find the back up files to re-load them.Â
Also in Safari I am unable to find my bookmarks. Is there a way to find these files or am I out of luck?Â

I am trying to speed up Re-Labeling all my metadata for every song in my library. Basically I need to create a workflow first, but I am having some troubles on how I should be doing it in Automater.
Example filename: "forrestaveryderty_driftinonby_flapjack.m4a"Â find all filenames that start with the same word before the First underscore (_)Â create a folder with that same wordÂ
copy files with the same word (BEFORE THE FIRST UNDERSCORE) to their corresponding folder name I then can use Media Rage to select the certain folder and and change the artist name all at once. and I would like it to do that with every file at one time.Â
again...Â
1: Find files with the same name before the first "underscore"
2: Create a a folder for every different name found (before the first underscore)
3: Copy found files (with same name before the first underscore) to the folder with the same name

When ever I move any file to the trash, or choose delete from the file menu. Snow Leopard always warns me that this file will be deleted immediately and can not be recovered. How do I get the trash to function again?

I've SL 10.6 server with FTP service Everytime anyone creates new file or folder it gets new permissions!Â
How to get parent folder or file permissions for every new file or folder, without propagate permissions everytime manualy.
How do you make the exclude file option on zip, or unzip, work for dotted files? For example, Â
zip -r foo ~/foo/ -x *.txtÂ
will zip all files in ~/foo/ that do not have the extension txt. But this doesn't work for "hidden" files, those that start with ".", like ".txt". So,Â
zip -r foo ~/foo/ -x /.txtÂ
still gets all the .txt files in foo zipped up, not excluded.Â
unzip foo -x /.txtÂ
has the same problem: it happily includes any .txt files in foo.zip in the unzipping

So now I have a trash folder full all my Drobo's content and I can't figure out how to get it all back to "put back"! I'm afraid that I am going to inadvertently empty trash and lose my entire Drobo's contents! I need to figure out how to undo or put back ... come on Apple. Why'd you make this so difficult?
