How to use Mac OS X Package Maker to code sign .pkg files for AppStore Submission? .pkg file is created too easily but how to code sign it for AppStore submission?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen a program crashes and the error report window opens, I fill it in the best I can and hit send.A new window opens that says "Submission failed, Your report could not be submitted. I've been reading a great deal in this forum regarding the issue in the subject line of this post. But it all has to do with 10.6.8 Snow Leopard. My 10.5.8 on my system has not been updated in any way for a while. So how is it that in the last couple of weeks all of my Power PC apps still on board, are going through this crash on start up routine. If I select 'relaunch' from the dialogue window that pops up upon the intial crash, the app will run fairly normally. This can't be about a security update like with Snow Leopard.

I got a 24" iMac, Processor 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, Memory 2 GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAMÂ My main problem is that whenever I restart my iMac, two problem reports emerge, neither of which can be sent to Apple due to an additional message which reads "Submission Failed: Your report could not be submitted. Please try again." Anyway, the report reads as follows: Â
Process:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â LoaderAgent [86]
Path:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â /Library/Application Support/AVG/AgentTools/LoaderAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/LoaderAgent
Identifier:Â Â Â Â Â LoaderAgent
Version:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â ??? (???)
Code Type:Â Â Â Â Â Â X86-64 (Native)

Now, normally I probably wouldn't have such a problem with this, however, some times when I put my iMac to sleep, I get a grey screen with a folder containing a question mark and a "non" sign over it. I have no idea what this means but I usually cannot turn my iMac back on for a half hour before it works again.

Title says it all, question: how do I tell Leopard to use Java6? I have the update installed...
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have tried to install Snow Leopard on my Macbook running 10.5.8, but the installation fails every single time. I have verified and repaired both the disk and the disk permissions, reset the PRAM, and removed all external devices from the system. Something of importance, the installation always makes it through the first reset, and then crashes afterwards during the second part of the installation. I am wondering if I should erase the disk, and install Snow Leopard, and then restore from a Time Machine backup, but this would be a last resort method.

View 4 Replies View RelatedInstallation of Leopard on my Power Mac G5 failed. After that, I can't even boot into Tiger. Whenever I power on, it just stays at the grey Apple screen. I thought changing the hard disk might help. But my experiments proved that the same behavior persists even without any hard disk. Power on, "dong", grey apple screen: that's it. What happened?

As of this morning my Macbook is failing to connect to the internet even though both the ethernet and airport are showing they are connected and are green in the network panel. My husband's internet connection is fine (we both have Macbooks and go through the same router) hence I'm able to send this out. After looking at a similar discussion list, we have tried restarting the computer, deleting airport and adding it back in (although it's also an ethernet problem), deleting system configuration, restoring the whole Library..

Just receovered from a disk crash. TM brings everything back on my new HD. The problem is that when I try to backup again, I get an error message saying to check TM's preferences. One problem may be that it seems that TM wants to back up the full HD rather than doing an incremental one.

I recently had a external disk fail that was still under warrenty, so I dually went to the Apple store and got a replacement. After plugging it in I went into Time Machine and performed a restore (I was backing up the external disk to another external time machine managed disk). All worked perfectly so far. However, come the next backup I got "Time Machine Error Unable to complete backup. An error occurred while linking files on the backup volume"
Searching the forums I don't see any obvious solution. In the system log I also see 'Event store UUIDs don't match for volume: MyBigDisk' every time there is a backup.

Trying to find a solution to my printing issues, which have taken many forms over the years. The current frustrating gremlin: Macbook Air, OS X 10.6.8, Lexmark E250D laser, printer driver built in to Mac OS, driver .dmg also downloaded and installed from Lexmark  Wireless home network on NETGEAR router with extension to Airport Express. Lexmark E250D laser attached to USB on the Airport Express. Cannot add printer via the default pathway, the Bonjour system finds the printer correctly for about 5 seconds after the printer is plugged in to the AE USB port then it simply disappears off the window never to return. Airport Utility cannot find the AE which I recently reset and set up without problem. The AE light is green.Â
Via Network Preferences I find the IP of the AE and try to set up LPD printing. This successfully finds the Lexmark, calls it a Generic Postscrpipt until I select the Lexmark driver from the OS X list. It seems to correctly identify printer features such as in built memory and duplex printing. Sending a file to the printer results in the warning that the IP address is busy. In the past I simply connected by USB cable to the printer, but since a recent move the house/ office layout makes that very inconvenient. I have to go outside and downstairs to the office which has no internal access from the main part of the house.Â

I'm on latest update of Snow Leopard and ever since I started working with mBOX (sound interface) and ProTools, my osx crashes frequently when quitting apps. My guess it's something to do with the sound card (the internal one). When I quit an app , the screen becomes green and it says in a couple of different languages that I have to turn off the computer by holding down the power button.
Then when I do that and then restart my computer, when booted it says 'You shut down the computer because of a problem'. In the report I always find that the problem layed with the app I quit.
It's not a particular app, I've had it with Quicktime, VLC, iTunes, LittleSnitch, SoundSource, Chrome, etc...

Leopard 10.5.8 to Snow Leopard (10.6 and 10.6.2) since then, most of the Adobe CS3 crash at launch (Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash) some others (Indesign, Flash VE) lost their SN.
Am unable to uninstall and make a new install of CS3, installer said:
System Requirements Error. This software cannot be install because the file system of the OS volume is not supported.
I download then Photoshop CS4 Trial from Adobe. It says too:
System Requirements Error. This software cannot be install because the file system of the OS volume is not supported. The OS volume should be local, writable and should have non-sensitive file system.

I am having an issue installing Snow Leopard on my computer. Every time I start the installation process, the process makes it to the first restart, and then crashes. I am running Mac OS X 10.5.8 and using a early 2008 Macbook. I have tried verifying the disk, but Disk Utility says the disk is fine with no issues. The hard drive was recently replaced so I doubt that their is a problem there...does anyone have any advice on how I should install Snow Leopard?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I just started using Time Machine (had been using CCC). A quick scan of my backup shows that it's not backing up my Outlook email database file. This missing file is very concerning to me. First of all, this is one of my most important files, needless to say. But also, it makes me wonder, what other important files might Time Machine be deciding to skip without my knowledge. I went into my Time Machine preferences and have no exclusions in there

i have a case where i have a large file (a sparse disk image) which at some point in the past seems to have become corrupt in the sense that there were problems reading it.eventually, i realized that attempts to clone the drive containing the bad file were failing (super duper reporting an error).an attempt to finder-copy the disk image also failed.i went to find backup copies of the file in question in my time machine backups and realized that the file did not exist in my backups.digging through system logs, i discovered that when time machine encountered an error when reading the file, it was failing silenty - that is, no error was reported via time machine - backups were seemingly completing successfully.so as a result, i went quite a long time with no backup of the failing file, nor any obvious warning that it was failing, even though time machine was encountering an error every time it tried to backup the file.
this seems like a major problem, perhaps even a design flaw in time machine.in fact, it is really the extreme opposite of the behavior i would consider "reasonable" for a reliable backup program.i somehow misinterpreting the data? any guess as to why time machine would not report when it tried to read a file during a backup, but failed?

I am on a brand new 3.06 GHz iMac. Installed Snow Leopard, 10.6.1. In general I don't experience any of the problems other people seem to have. But twice now my screen has turned blue while I am in the middle of something. All the open apps disappear and the Finder seems to relaunch. It only takes a few seconds. I don't have steps to reproduce it. Both times I had several apps open and had video/DVD running in the background.
Has anybody seen this?
I am a notorious file-saver which means I haven't lost much work through this but if it keeps happening I might have to go back to Leopard.
I want to clear up some space on my MacBook.Â
Can I trash the folder called Crash Reporter? (It's in my Logs folder, which is in the Home folder.)

I am having problems with programs automatically shutting down when I try to open them. The problems are with ITunes and Skype. I know that Skype is an internet program, and this might be a problem, but I never had this happen before... EVER. iTunes only starts up half way, then it brings up an error box.
I had no problems until I updated in Feburary. Can I uninstall the last update and restore to the old one?

My older model MacBook Pro has been crashing quite frequently (2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo runming OS X 10.6.8).I took it into the Apple store today and they said the culprit is my failing hard drive. It's not my original hard drive as I had a larger one installed some time ago. I did not have it installed at an Apple store but rather at an authorized third party store. The Genius Bar employtee today told me that if it's within a year of purchase, that third party store will most likely replace it under warranty. Unfortunately I am not currently in the city where this store is but I will call them today to see when it was that I purchased the drive. If it's been over a year, I want to tell them that these crashes did not start today but several months ago. we can go by the date of the first crashes as opposed to today's date as perhaps that will fall within the 12 month rule. However, when I look in the CrashReporter or DiagnosticReport folders in the Library and Logs folders, I'm only finding the most recent crashes. Are older crashed saved and accessable someplace else?

I've been having a problem with Firefox crashing recently. On Mozilla's forum, someone suggested that corrupted fonts can cause apps to crash. I opened Font Book to check on this. I was able to find and disable one font that Font Book listed as corrupted. However, there's another font that I think is corrupted but can't do anything about. Just clicking on the font in the Font Book window causes Font Book itself to crash! Is there any other way to disable this font (matura management capitals)? Can I just delete it from the Font folder in finder?

I've used Boot Camp to create a 32GB partition and install Windows XP (SP2 home edition) on my alu iMac (2.66 Ghz, 4GB RAM).
I used the FAT format to allow transfer of files between the Mac partition and the Windows one.
After booting Windows, I put in my original Leopard install DVD as directed, and the Boot Camp installer automatically came up.
When I submit an error report I get the message... Submission Failed Your report could not be submitted. Please try again later. Is this common? Is there a problem with my computer?
