I recently got a new computer for college. It is a a v.10.7.4, 15 inch, 2.4 GHz processor MacBook Pro, and has gotten all the most recent Software Updates. However, following my iPhoto 9.3 update, I noticed an issue. In Launchpad iPhoto appears twice, even though it is only one application.
iPhoto can be seen to the far-right in the second line and at the right of the bottom line. When I try clicking on them both it just leads me back to the same window. iPhoto only appears once in the Applications folder. getting the second photo to disappear?

I want to take a copy of all my images in iPhoto from my Macbook pro 10.6.8 and then view them on my macbook air (Mavericks). I bought a Toshiba Canvio Connect 1 TB portable hard drive. Can I copy across the images without using any software?
I've set up my new MacBook pro in my married name. I now want to transfer iPhotos and iTunes from my old MacBook (in my maiden name). It wants to create two user accounts. How do I just transfer iPhotos and iTunes?
My macbook pro's launchpad icons are not removing themselves when I delete the app from my applications folder like they used too. I have been using launchpad cleaner to get the stubborn buggers out of there. Im going mad because I rather like the launchpad feature.
My young son got hold of my Mac and changed all kinds of settings randomly.
iPhotos used to come up as a screen with all the thumbnails. Now it opens into a screen with just one photo. The show thumbnail in the toolbar is greyed out.
So a while ago a bunch of new icons appeared in my launchpad(four pages worth). I clicked on a few and they didn't do anything, but am hesitant to mess around too much as I don't want to mess up my system. I've tried to find a way to hide them, but have come up short.
I just bought a Macbook Pro a couple of days ago and this is my first Mac. This may be a dumb question, but remember I'm new to Mac.I just installed a printer and it placed a folder on my desktop. It seems logical to me that this folder should be on Launchpad. Can/should I move this folder to Launchpad and if so, how?
For some reason I have two copies of each of the microsoft office apps in my Launchpad. How do I get rid of one without deleting the program? Using OSX Lion 10.7.4
In my launchpad shows two icons of "iPhoto" if you delete one later on, the icon appears again and now I find myself two icons of the same application. why? What should I do. I'm afraid that if I delete both, then I can not re-download the app from the Apple Store.
Help! I want to use iphotos to make a video trailer in imovie...when i click the camera icon, it will not let me. They are not lit up/highlighted when i am in my project. anyone know why?
I found that every time when I want to update the iphotos and imovies and the native apps in the mac book it is needed to use the first apple id that used for the first time you turn on the mac book.Since that id is not used now and i want to change it, any body knows how to change it? And although my current admin id has changed, but still when updating iphotos the very first id is needed.

I have a Macbook with OSX v10.5.8 and I used to be able to easily attach photos from my iPhoto library to an email and send it but I have not done it in awhile and when I recently tried it my email message displays 'missing plugin'.
I am using Mac OPS 10.9.4 and iPhoto 9.5.1 systems I have just tried to print photos using an H-P Photosmart 7510 printer and am not getting results because I get a message that the paper size is not correct or the print comes from the regular 8 1/2 by 11 tray and not the photo tray which I have told it to do. I also have an H-P Photosmart 335 printer that I have not been able to use because I get message saying the paper is not the correct size. In the past I was able to adjust easily the paper sizes and get good prints. Now, I am not getting any prints because of error messages. It seems to me that updates installed to my computer change the way I am use to doing therefore causing me to learn new ways of operating the jobs I want to do. It is a waste of my time learning the "improvements" the updates keep installing and not improving the way I have been use to doing various tasks.
I do not print many photos so there is some time between the task and Apple has "improved" the system and I have to go back to square one to learn the new way or install another app.

A while ago, my MacBook Pro started to randomly open launchpad in "Slow motion" when I am typing. Ever since then, my computer has been acting quite sluggish, and once my iTunes library disappeared. (Luckily I keep a backup, but that seems to have resolved itself.) I do not think that the opening launchpad thing is a hardware issue, mainly because of all of the other symptoms. One thing that I'm worried about is it might be the Flashback trojan, but I have not downloaded anything that would appear to be an Adobe update, and I did get the Java update. I am just curious about what it sounds like.
I have a MacAir running OSX 10.9.4 and just recently was given it by the school district I work in. Over the weekend, I took it into the Mac store because my apps were still updating with the old users Apple ID. The apple genius was able to fix this and reinstalled the most current iLife software fixing the problem. However, just yesterday I noticed that there is now a ? on my dock for iPhoto as well as on my Launchpad. In my launchpad, I had two iPhoto icons, so I deleted one, a few days prior to this happening thinking it was a duplicate, but now that the question mark is showing up for iPhoto, I'm wondering if I accidentally deleted the app entirely. If this is the case, how do I get it back??? I use iPhoto all the time for work and I'm wondering if this is something I can fix at home, or if I need to go back to the Mac Store.
I have the latest iMac - OS X Mavericks. I recently shifted from Windows to iMac. I am a photographer and have thousands of pictures in my external hard-drive (Western Digital) that I have backed up by folder name (YYYY-MM-DD) using windows. But, now I have started using my iMac and planning to backup my new pictures stored in iPhoto library. I am not sure how can get the original pictures by year, month and day from iPhotos and copy them in external drive using the same folder structure - YYYY-MM-DD.
Not sure how to do this simpler. At this time I tried to go to iPhoto, then do Reveal in finder, go to that folder, select all my files, copy them, go to external harddrive, create a folder - YYYY-MM-DD and copy them. I can do this for each hundreds of folder sitting in my iPhoto.
First I was lucky that I didn't trust this "time machine", I could've just formatted the drive after I did the time machine back up and end up wiping my entire itunes library, Here is what happend, I only had two instances of time machine back up, both to the same external HD which has more than plenty of space. The first TM backup was immediately after a fresh install of snow leopard, online updates, and some important apps. iTunes and iPhotos library was empty at that moment. I thought I'd just restore this backup when I need a fresh install later. Then today I decided to wipe out everything on my MBP and have a fresh install, so I did the second TM backup in an expectation that it would back up everything new since the last backup, including my itunes and iphotos library. It turned out that TM (treacherously) didn't do that and tell me backup was done (AKA the infamous FALSE TRUE, the worst scenario of logics). When I checked the backup directory on the external HD, and the itunes directory reported a miserable size of 123kb, which was supposed to be around 20gb. same goes for the iPhotos library, there was no backup. Abandoning this fashion machine, I manually copied the libraries, taking some time but at least I know what I'm doing. Anyway, back to top, Is is a known issue or is TM designed in this way?
