ICloud :: How To Move / Save File Created With Keynotes
May 30, 2012I create a file with Keynotes. I save it in my Mac. But how do I move it/save it in to iCloud? I can't find the automatic way to do it. At the moment, I am opening iCloud in my browser and move the file manually.

Jul 7, 2010Just put together a CV using Open Office, it's currently saved as a .odt. I'll be sending this out to a few companies and I'd like to know what the best file type is to select that will be readable by everyone? When I go to 'save as' I see a long list of options and I'm not sure which one to pick so that PC users can view.
Or can they load the .odt file just fine?

Apr 10, 2012I try to open an Open Office spread sheet and it simply saves the file as another file with the .cpgz extension which does the same thing. This did not happen a couple weeks ago; I think my download for Apple updates may be the culprit. My OS X is now 10.7.3, I believe originally it was 10.7.2 but I could be wrong.Â
The original document is a zip archive but now "saves as" a .cpgz archive. I have tried the "Unarchiver", which I just downloaded, but it only creates another file with subfolders, none of which appear to have my original spread sheet. (To be honest, I never noticed this Open Office spread sheet file was a zip file until a few minutes ago when I tried to unsuccessfully open it).Â

Feb 25, 2012Why does Mac OX 10.6.8 keep making copies of a file anytime I download, copy, or move a file? It will copy, dowload or move the file, then begin making copies until I reboot. This makes it impossible to deal wit hfiles unless I want to spend a lot of time rebooting after every time, then deleting all the redundant copies.

May 19, 2007i was wondering if it's possible to have my screensaver slideshow as my desktop like an animated desktop; i recently installed onyx, which has a limited feature to run certain screensavers as desktops (like the preinstalled "abstract" "flurry" and other screensavers), but not the "choose folder" slideshow, which i would have liked to have (constant changing animated desktop with fading and ken burns effect), does anyone know if another program does this or if it's possible?

May 18, 2009I'm trying to modify a config file, from the game No One Lives Forever to be exact. This file is the NOLF folder, and that file, and everything in the NOLF folder is set to read and write premissions to everyone. Mar 10, 2008I have a sony handycam (DCR-DVD-400 I think is the model number) When I go to run it on my iBook, DVD player opens up and plays the DVD inside of the sonycam. When I eject the camera, the cameras door that holds the DVD opens...leading me to think that the computer recognizes it as an external mini DVD player. (Perhaps its possible to download programs off of those mini dvds?) I cant find a compatable driver, or any type of mac support for the camera. It also wont let me download the actual movie file from the camera to the computer. However, if I move a movie that I recorded with this camera to the mac from a PC, every program I have says it is not a movie file...but it is because it plays on a PC! Ironicly, the camera makes MPEG or MPEG-4 (cant remember) files So I got to thinking...I have 2 choices. I could either use my PC to do video editing and use a program called iSquint to convert files to iTunes and hopefully be able to edit it in iMovie.
OR
Since the computer seems to recognize the camera as an external DVD player and not a camera, I think I might be able to use a program that allows me to take a DVD and save it into the computer. I believe myMOVO from download.com will allow me to do this... Im not sure though. Its a program designed to take movies from youtube, CNN, comedy central, ect and download them into iTunes to be sent to an iPod...but it saves as a podcast. It also supports DVD saving, but I havnt had the chance to test it out. If it doesnt work, is there any free programs that will allow me to do this?

Jul 14, 2010I'm running Tiger, so using any new features in Safari 5 for Leopard is out of the question. The reason I wish to do this is because people still use gifs in forums, and some are very obnoxious with large signature gifs that cause safari to beachball.
I've checked around, and there are other threads but they didn't seem to have a conclusion. I tried something called "SafariPlus", but it caused the program to crash before it could open.
I've messed around with PithHelmet, but it's options to disable animations appear to be only for show, unless it refers to flash animations only. It can block them, but usually ends up blocking everything.
I've looked in the Safari preferences .plist file and couldn't see anything. I've unlocked the Develop and Debug menu, but the only option I see is "Disable Images" in the 'Develop' menu. That functionality seems useful, but there's no way I see to edit what images are blocked, it just blocks them all.
I tried copying the line in the .plist file that dealt with disabling images, but changed it to animations. Didn't work lol
Does anyone know any way this could be accomplished in Safari 4.1?

Feb 3, 2009I have just purchased my first apple. It is a powerbook g4 with leapord. My problem is that I have school projects that need to be done in text edit(apples version of notepad if im correct) I write what i need to write in the program and save it onto my computer. Then upload these saved files into a drop box that is located on my schools website(angel program). But when my professors try to open it. It says no files submited, even though i have submited them. I know it has to do with my apple because when I use microsoft notepad, the files will submit and can be opened. my whole school uses microsoft.

Nov 7, 2009I just got a new mac computer and wanted to transfer my itunes library to the new computer. I do not have a firewire cable. So I thought I could just put the library on my 8gb sd card (my itunes library is 5.25 gb). I thought it might be faster if I zipped the library so I did-that took 10 minutes or so. But whenever I tried to move the zip file to the sd card I got an error message. So then I copied the zip file and tried to move the copy to the sd card. I still got the error message. So now what is happening is I am simply copying my itunes music folder directly to the sd card. It says it will take about 2 hours (my old computer is from 2003 so I think I have a slow usb port). So hopefully this will work. But why wouldn't it work with the .zip file?
