Mac Safari :: Won't Work With Address Bar / Inputting Web Address And Drop Down List
I recently updated Safari to Version 4.0.4. If, for example, I typed www.yout into the address bar, I would get a drop down list of youtube links that I have bookmarked and in the history from which I could scroll down and choose from. Previous versions would show all possible links. Now, I only get to choose from six links. Is there a way to make Safari show all of the available links?

Applications :: Is Safari 4 Address Bar Recognize Web Address?
So, is it possible for the address bar "top hit" or "history" to recognize part of a web address if you don't start with it?

For example.
In firefox, when I start typing macrumors, I get forums.macrumors, macrumors....

Safari :: Can't Drag Web Addresses From Address Bar To Dock
Recent upgrade from Snow Leopard to Lion. All seems good apart from the ability to drag a URL from the address bar to the dock for commonly used sites. When I attempt to there is a space made available but the "spring / @" icon is invisible (or perhaps not even there ;o)  ). Hover the mouse over the "invisible" icon and the title of URL shows but it is inactive. I can drag ivisible icon from dock and I do get the little smoke gif as per normal but can't see or get functionality from the space where the icon should be.

Mac Safari :: Auto Highlighting Address In Address Bar?
When I have only 1 tab open and then open another tab the URL in the address bar gets highlighted automatically so if I start typing the address of where I want to go it gets overwritten. This makes it quick to get to a web page. BUT this only happens for the second tab that is opened. If I open subsequent tabs the URL in the address bar does not get highlighted.

This is inconsistent UI design. Is there an extension or setting I can modify so that if I open a new tab or click into the address bar the full URL gets highlighted automatically so I can then over-type it?

(I know there is a trick where I click into the address bar and then click again on the blue edge of the address bar to highlight all the URL but this is 2 clicks too many for ease-of-use)

Mac Safari :: Can't Type Address In New Window?
i keep apps in separate "spaces." when i'm in a space and tab to safari in a different space without any open windows and cmd N for a new window, the address line is outlined in blue, but the cursor does not appear in the window. i have to close that window and open a new one in order to type in it.

note: this only happens when i have safari set to open in top sites, not when i have it set to open in an empty window. and this only happens on my work computer G5 running 10.5.8, which i don't have the option to update. was this a bug that was fixed?

OS X :: Safari Lost Address Bar And Can't Get It Back
So I hit customize toolbar to get rid of a button on my Safari toolbar. The window didn't pop up like it was supposed to, so I tried clicking around, and clicked the address bar and it disappeared.

Now even after a restart, I can't get the customize toolbar dialog to come up, therefore I can't get my address bar back.

This is on 10.5.2 by the way.

My ISP has set up our MX records to point our email to our public IP address. They have also set up our address to point to our public IP address so that we can set up remote IMAP / Calendaring connections.

According to our ISP our address resolves to our public IP address, but when I try to sync remote email / calendars we are having a great deal of difficulty connecting. It seems to work a lot better with our IP address than with our (URL)

Mac Safari :: Changing Address Bar To Search Google When It's Not Url?
Is it possible to get the address bar to search google instead of automatically throwing a http:// infront of what I type and just failing to open? I'm coming off Chrome, so I'm used to the address bar ALSO being the search bar, and like 70% of the time I find myself typing my searches in my address bar in Safari. Is this just something I'm gonna need to get used to now or is there a workaround for this.

OS X :: Safari Address Bar Autofill
Ever since I updated to 5, my address bar has been autofilling the title of the page I go to, for instance: Say I have been to Zappos and looked at a pair of converse, the title at the top of the window will say something like "Converse shoe etc." Well then say I've looked on [URL] at something before, and I want to go there again. If I start typing "converse" into the address bar, it wants to autfill the "Converse shoe etc." title and take me to the Zappos page instead of [URL] Is there a way to disable this? I liked it the way it was before, If im typing something in the address bar I only want ti to guess urls, not page titles.

Mac Safari :: Safari Stalls When Typing In Address Bar
Safari keeps stalling when typing in the address bar. It originally started with only the letter d now its just about any letter. I have cleared the cache and even gone so far as to use app delete to remove safari completely then downloaded 5.0.1 and re-installed safari.

Interesting thing happened when I re-installed though. Came up as a fresh version of safari, all the default bookmarks on bookmarks bar, then when re customizing bookmarks bar it froze and crashed. So I opened safari back up and there was my old bookmarks bar back from the dead, and the address bar problem had returned.

OS X Tiger :: Safari Address Bar Grayed Out
I'm running Tiger with Safari 3.2.3. Suddenly, the address bar on Safari is Greyed out, and I have no place to enter a URL. This happens on my Yahoo home page. If I go to firefox, everything is normal, so I don't believe the problem is related to Yahoo. I have done the permissions thing in disk utility and all is correct. By the way, if I click on the grey space where the address bar should be, it opens an untitled blank tab.

Mac Safari :: 5 Address Bar Autocompletion
When I type into the address bar of Safari 5.0.1, it gives me suggestions in the order 'Top Hit' then history then bookmarks. Usually I'm trying to either get to something I've bookmarked or to something I know the address of, so how do I either disable the History section (without deleting my history), or move it to below the bookmarks, and disable the top hit altogether? I don't want it to search the text in the title of hundreds of random history pages either. I want it to only look for the address, because that's what I'm typing. It's an address bar, and it currently comes up with so many irrelevant suggestions based on page titles that I have to type the whole address manually.

Applications :: Safari Address Bar Autofill?
Everytime I go to the address bar and start typing it will give me a list of sites from history/bookmarks to choose from. For example if I type www.e it will come up with every page I've visited beginning with E. Obviously I can clear my history, but how do I stop it displaying sites from my bookmarks? I use my Mac around a lot of people and don't want everyone seeing every other site I've visited.

OS X :: Clear Safari Address Bar History?
This is probably very simple, but how can I remove the history that resides in Safari's address bar?

I guess I could "reset Safari", but then I'd lose all my cookies, and I don't want to do that.

I already emptied the cache, cleared history, restarted Safari, even turned on Private Browsing. The darn address bar history is still there.
