MacBook Pro :: Every Time Click Link On Site Something A New Site Pops Up / Webcam Is On Constant
Dec 1, 2014every time i open a site and click something it will direct me to a new site. this happens everytime without fail.. (on every site) also my web cam. I have deleted a load of stuff and randon apps iv have downloaded. i have change some internet setting but still nothing happens. seem to be ever since i down loaded the new update.

OS X :: Malware On Mac - Redirected From Link To Another Site
Sep 15, 2010I'm running OS 10.5.8 and using Firefox 3.5.7. When I Google something and click a result, 75% of the time I am redirected somewhere that was not the destination of the link. Other times I'll click a link and a giant white browser window will open behind current window taking up my whole screen. Another frequent occurrence is being directed to the site "theclickcheck". I have a registered version of MacScan and it comes up with nothing and my software is up to date. Where do I go from here?

Dec 1, 2014On both Safari and Chrome browsers, I have been using a particular website - ([URL] .... - this is a website of an institute I have enrolled with and needs a user id to access it) - since a year.
Earlier, on my mac, it would open the links to pdf files as also links to videos uploaded on their site.
However, since the past couple of months, I have not been able to access any of those. Whenever I click, there is absolutely no response from the website. It remains static. Although I am able to navigate through the various pages, but am not able to open anything at all.

On the heels of the first external test build labeled Mac OS X 10.5.3 build 9D10 and released privately late last week, the Mac maker on Tuesday followed up with build 9D11, which adds nearly 20 more fixes and code corrections, bringing the new total expected with software's release to nearly 100. Even though I have 4 GB of RAM, should I utilize a 64 bit VM or is it worthless since the VM isn't given enough? Which Linux builds will give me the most drivers and performance otb?

Six weeks on I've opened iWeb and my website isn't there. How can I restore it (and why didn't TM do it?)?

May 1, 2010I'm interested in the site Carbonite to back up my Mac, but I want to use Time Machine and have complete backups of my system. I'm assuming I can't use Time Machine on that site, so what's important is whether or not I can conduct a complete backup of my system on Carbonite that would allow me to completely recover my system in the event of a failure or a new computer...something like that.
Am I better off just buying an external HDD and using Time Machine?

Apr 20, 2010I have a new toy (MBP i7 15" Hi-Res Matte) and it came with Snow Leopard installed. I'm coming from a Mac Mini with Tiger installed. Upon opening iMovie I was thrown for a loop by the way editing is done. It's completely different. I'm guessing some are saying "welcome to a few versions ago" but I'm looking at little bubbles for clips across multiple lines with colored backgrounds to indicate audio clips. I'm used to seeing video & audio clips stacked on top of each other at the bottom of the display and moving around with the playhead to make adjustments, fade audio in & out, etc. but none of this seems obvious with the new tools. Is there anyway to change the presentation of iMovie '09 so that I can edit in the old manner?

So e.g. I have my headings in line 1 (A:E) [Date- Job # - Client - Designer - Due By] then when I start entering date into line 2, 3, 4, or any line. I want to be able to start typing in say line 4B which would be "Job #", but I would like the current data & time to be auto added to 4A. I have read there is way to get the date auto added to a doc once its opened but I will be adding jobs all day therefore the times would always be different and would not work as I only open the doc once a day.

Apr 6, 2010Well, as some of you may think that VelociRaptors are dead, they aren't. They were great few years ago when there were no SSDs for reasonable price but got then owned by SSDs due their fast speed. WD has came up with two new VRs, 450GB (299$) and 600GB (329$). They are both 10 000rpm drives and improvements for last generation are 32MB cache instead of 16MB, SATA 6Gb/s, 0.4ms seek time (was 0.75ms) and transfer speed of 145MB per second (was 128MB/s). Platter size has also increased from 150GB to 200GB so they were able to keep the same form factor (3.5") and come up with larger capacities.
Still can't beat SSDs in speed but the price is five times cheaper per GB than in SSDs. Very detailed and massive article available in AnandTech (thanks Eidorian for letting me know about that site, love it!)

Sep 30, 2010Does anyone think Apple will release updated notebooks any time in the near future? I know anything we come up with will purely be speculation, but sometimes Apple tends to follow trends. My 17" i5 MBP was just replaced with a gift card, and I'm wondering if I should wait for a bit (Apple had a Mac event in October to announce the unibody) or go ahead and get what I want now. I suppose I can always sell it later if something THAT much better is released.

But when I drag it onto the time line the video plays but there is just loud beeps continously.Nothings wrong with the video clip. I tried several different ones. Feb 21, 2012I've set up time machine on my new mac, it all seemed to be working well. I have a WD external hard drive 500GB (my estimated backup size is about 50GB). I have all my media on another WD hard drive, this is not in scope for back up. I run time machine and it all goes well. Just after a few weeks I noticed that some of my TV shows were missing from iTunes, when I actually check the files on the external hard drive they are missing, they are also not in the trash. I wasn't sure what was causing this but this happened a few times. Eventually I turned off time machine and now I don't have the issue anymore.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Time Machine Only Shows Volume Instead Of Files
Jun 19, 2012Had to get my HD replaced in my iMac. Have been trying to get individual files off my Time Machine backup.
I go the "Browse other time machine disks" route but when it opens all it ever shows me is a single file with the name of my old HD. It won't display any files inside that volume.
I can "Show package contents" on the file itself to get to the files inside but it seems like some files are restored in time machine only.
Specifically the itunes library file gets broken into ,last, add , delete files, which my current iTunes install errors on when trying to import.
