I am trying to take some dvd's and put them onto my Western Digital Media Player. My problem is that each episode of the show in question is made up of 2 .vob files. The second file for each episode automatically plays the directors commentary, and has to be turned off manually in VLC player. Is there a way to remove this track? I've tried conversions in VisualHub, Audio Converter, and Mac the Ripper, but to no avail.
View 1 RepliesI have some movies on which I'd like to put multiple audio tracks. Here's what I'm doing. First, I add the second audio track in Subler and save. Returning to iTunes, I'm not given the option to switch in iTunes or QuickTime 10. So I go back to Subler and turn one track off, saving again. Now I'm given the option to switch. But the audio doesn't work. The standard track works fine. Switching to the other one makes a popping sound and then pure silence. Switching back works fine. This also happens in QuickTime 10.
So I tried to enable/disable via QuickTime 7 Pro. Turning a track off forces me to resave the file, but not like Subler, oh, no. QuickTime 7 Pro forces me to reencode the whole thing as an MOV, which takes forever and is pointless. I've done this without having to save before. What's going on? How do I add a second, selectable audio track that works on things in iTunes without QuickTime 7 Pro forcing me to save MP4s as MOVs and [insert any audio filetype with zero video whatsoever here] as MOVs as well?!
I'm digitizing some taped conversations with older relatives onto my Powerbook, via AudioHijack Pro. Once I have all the .mp3s on my HD, I'd like to combine them into one CD, divided into tracks. They are generally stories reminiscing about childhood, and I'm going to make some CD jackets that describe each one as X-mas gifts. I know how to make DVDs with chapter markers in iDVD or iMovie, but how should I do this for strictly audio CDs? Garageband, Quicktime Pro, Toast?

However it turns out that the sound part is not playbak correctly inside QT player. Is QT player not supposed to playback this kind of file? BTW, I'm on OSX 10.7.3, Quicktime player is version 10.1.

I want to convert some video files (specifically swf in this case) to audio files so I can listen on my iPod. I looked everywhere and can't find some free software that does that. There are tons that have trial periods with lots of limitations (like it won't convert anything larger than a 5k size file) so I don't want those because I won't know if the thing works well unless I pay for it. I'm not opposed to paying for a converter IF I know it works awesome on a Mac.

I just bought a MBP yesterday at best buy and transfered all my old files from my other macbook over to it.
I am going to give the old macbook to the wife and wanted to give her my old macbook but with a clean install.
I do not have the original disk with the old macbook but I did update to snow leopard on it. The disc are back 2500 miles away. I put the new MBP disc in but it said it cannot install.

Found some difficulties while migrating from hdd to hdd+ssd system.
Basically i want to copy system files only (using CarbonCopyCloner) to ssd and leave the rest of my data (music, films etc) on hdd.
I started with installing a blank system to my new ssd. Then Im about to copy all folders from my current HDD, excluding some big ones that I want to store on hdd.
So my question is: am I doing it right? Won't any hidden files be missing after this kind of migration?
How do I remove these purchased files? The ones with the cloud n lightening bolt icon. I'm using iTunes on my iPhone 5.

what im trying to do is transfer my entire music library from itunes to an micro SD card to go in my Galaxy S5 but from what i can gather the files that i purchased years ago are DRM protected and wont open up on the phone or even show on the list of tracks. what i want to know is how do i remove the DRM protection from these files?? iv tried deleting and re-downloading one of the songs from the cloud as a test (couldnt be bothered to download the 60 odd songs if it didnt work) but i dont think it worked as it wouldnt transfer to Kies.

I've downloaded every version of VLC but the computer doesn't seem to recognise it - even when hitting on the vlc cone icon the top menu bar doesn't alter i.e go from finder to VLC. I've never had a problem with vlc before however my mac recently crashed and am currently operating out of the root system administrator so don't know if I'm missing some plug in that I might have had before.

And yes I have installed Perian but that's not fixing this problem either. I tried using VLC but that didn't even show me a black screen. I could only listen to the audio.

Setup : Itunes 9.0.2 on a Macbook 5,2 running OSX.5.8. Audio Files on NAS (brought there using "consolidate library" in itunes), libraries still on main drive. I created a NAS account with the same ID as my admin one, and connect to it with a script executed on startup. I can do exactly the same things as when audio files were on my drive. The only problem is lag, when I play next track, edit metadata,...I checked wifi, ethernet, different cables,... didn't change a thing.Moreover, I can browse through all my tracks with VLC without lag. Last evening I ran idefrag for a totally different purpose and found 'itunes music library.xml" was fragmented (≈20 MB in 7 parts), "Itunes Library" too.
Here's the thing :When I defragment these two files at startup, and then launch iTunes, the lag issue disappears.When I quit iTunes, the library files are saved but written in parts again, and the lag comes back.Finally, if I defragment the files between a quit and a start, they must be edited again because they're split up again and the lag is still there.Since I didn't add new songs, itunes must be saving stuff like playing counts, which is useless to me. Make the library read-only?
