I was working on my computer and needed to reboot. When my Safari came back up the arrangement on the screen was completely different. The overall layout was different and I lost a few of my bookmarks in the process. Is there anyway to get it back to my old screen layout?

All I see in the appearance prefs is either 'blue' or 'graphite', which as far as I can tell, merely changes the color of the little buttons on the upper right side....and then there just the highlight color. I don't get it....shouldn't there be more options...outside of some kind of third party tinkering tool?

I followed some guide on how to change my dock. It was this one. I got up until this bit.
Go to Macintosh HD > /System/Library/Core Services/
Right-Click on "Dock" and select "Show Package Contents"
Go to /Contents/Resources/
Backup the files you are about to replace (Incase you did not listen, here they are)
Move those same original files to the trash
Then I got stuck. I resetted my Mac and now I have no dock ! How do I get my dock back! I have the back up folder, but where the hell do I put it to get back my dock. On the " Dock " icon I have a little circle with a line init. This is what the contents of my Dock folder looks like .. inside " Contents " I have the " Back Up " folder. As you can see I already put in the contents of the Back Up Folder into the Dock folder but nothing has changed. This is whats in my Dock Back Up Folder.
I cannot see my entire screen. When i move to the bottom i see the dock, but the options at the top disappear. i tried to change the resolution, but this doesn't help.

Just wondering if you guys had a solution to safari auto-filling forms on websites with my old address - its quite annoying to have to delete all the old data to put my new address details in. Is there somewhere in the settings I can enter my new details and have them auto-fill?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI can't say I like the appearance of Snow Leopard very much. The menu bar on mine is a rather sick shade of yellow/orange ombre instead of the nice crisp white that it's always been. And the dock has a heavy brown background I wish I could make go away. Transparent was my choice from the previous system.
I seem to remember having lots more choices about the look of my displays. But all I can find on SL is the minimal options on System Preferences. Are there other control panels I can't find?
Like where u go into appearance settings and it has either grey or blue.. are there any other colours? How do i get them?

It'd be nice to change some of the visual aspects of the main Skype client - it's a bit unsightly atm.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Macbook appearance now has darkened images with a sharp contrast around the image edges. When I startup, the images look fine until the top menu bar appears at the end. At that point, all images in the dock have a sharper contrast and a darker appearance around the edges. The blue folder colors only appear in the bottom half of folders on the finder, the top half of the folder being white. Photos appear to darken and colors are distorted. I have tried changing everything possible in system preferences from the appearance, the display, and the desktop screensaver
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there was maybe a screen filter or something of that sort that you can apply on the MBA to make it have a matte appearance? I don't like the glossy screen as there is a lot of reflection from light making it hard to see at times.
View 1 Replies View Relatedthere is anyway to modify the appearance of Calendar and Contacts in OS 10.9. Any app that modifies the appearance of either of these apps? I tried the trial version of Busy Cal but it preserves the look that I find so displeasing in OS 10.9's calendar. I was happy with earlier iterations of these apps, but now they seem glaring and ugly - - so much so that I am thinking of returning to OS 10.8.5. In general, I have found no significant improvements in OS 10.9.4 - - in regards to my work at least - - and somewhat less stability.

I have an iWeb website which comes up on the first page of google if the correct (and most likely) things are searched for. But at the moment it displays on Google in an odd way - the main result is a random PDF I have on my site and then, under that as a sub-result, is the title "Home" (my home page) and the snippet of text it displays is the menu on my homepage. How can I make the main title of the result say something like "SS957916's Fantastic Website - Photos, videos and more" with the text snippet being body text from my site rather than the menu?!

Just retired my G3-333 MHz (Gossamer MT). Had two (250 GB SATA) HD?s running 10.4.11. Put one in my ?New? G5 2.0 GHz Duel Core, which also has a 250 GB HD running Leopard. I have thousands of MS Word & PDF documents stored on my G3 drives. When I drag & drop my documents onto the Leopard drive ? their blue, white, red, colored icons are transformed into a bunch of ?non-descript? almost translucent icons. This really sucks ? One should be able to distinguish various types of documents at a glance! Does anyone know how to get the icons for Adobe PDF & MS Word documents, which were standardized between OS 8 and OS 10.4.11, to appear ?normal? in the Leopard OS? Is there a ?Preferences? setting or a ?Third Party? software fix for something like this?
