Just bought the 24 LED Cinema Display to use with my new uMBP. The display looks great, but sometimes it's pretty tough to read things on it because the resolution is so high. Is there any way to change the font size for things like Safari, Entourage, Word, etc. JUST on the LED and not on the MBP as well?

I'm not really diggin this gray window look. All I see in the appearance prefs is either 'blue' or 'graphite', which as far as I can tell, merely changes the color of the little buttons on the upper right side....and then there just the highlight color. I don't get it....shouldn't there be more options...outside of some kind of third party tinkering tool?

I followed some guide on how to change my dock. It was this one. I got up until this bit.
Go to Macintosh HD > /System/Library/Core Services/
Right-Click on "Dock" and select "Show Package Contents"
Go to /Contents/Resources/
Backup the files you are about to replace (Incase you did not listen, here they are)
Move those same original files to the trash
Then I got stuck. I resetted my Mac and now I have no dock ! How do I get my dock back! I have the back up folder, but where the hell do I put it to get back my dock. On the " Dock " icon I have a little circle with a line init. This is what the contents of my Dock folder looks like .. inside " Contents " I have the " Back Up " folder. As you can see I already put in the contents of the Back Up Folder into the Dock folder but nothing has changed. This is whats in my Dock Back Up Folder.

My Macbook appearance now has darkened images with a sharp contrast around the image edges. When I startup, the images look fine until the top menu bar appears at the end. At that point, all images in the dock have a sharper contrast and a darker appearance around the edges. The blue folder colors only appear in the bottom half of folders on the finder, the top half of the folder being white. Photos appear to darken and colors are distorted. I have tried changing everything possible in system preferences from the appearance, the display, and the desktop screensaver

Normally, the Finder window will display a folder's size in the Size column. However, I have one folder which shows as "Zero KB" in the Size column. When I open the General Info window, the Size reads as "Zero KB on disk (Zero bytes) for 0 items."
In order to get the folder size I have to go into the folder, select all folders, then with either the Summary Info or Inspector window, it'll show the folder size ("185.32 GB on disk").
Why is this occurring in only this folder? Is it because it's a large folder?
I'm running Snow Lep 10.6.2. The folder is on an external drive in FAT32 format.

I changed my partition size firstly from (full disk size) about 160GB to 80GBs in order to create a new one which was another 80GBs after that I decided to just leave this 160GB and one partition, so I did what I decided, but now there is a problem. I did everything under Installation CD and than it shows in Disk Tool that the partition is 160GB on diagrams but under it it shows: total size 80GB... and the same is when I launching Snow Leopard. I'm clicking Macintosh HD and informations than it shows total size: 80GB, I tried to change again partition sizes but it does nothing, I cannot do anything under Mac OS and bootable installation disc. I'm completely stuck it shows, always and always that "Spliting in to partitions finished due an error - could not modficate partition's map".

I was working on my computer and needed to reboot. When my Safari came back up the arrangement on the screen was completely different. The overall layout was different and I lost a few of my bookmarks in the process. Is there anyway to get it back to my old screen layout?

I am running on an iMac, 3.06 GHZ Intel Core 2 Duo, and it has a display max of 1920 x 1200. I was wondering if there are any workarounds for this? Any apps, or scripts that are safe and will allow me to use a bigger resolution? I am not a tech wiz, but I would love to hear anything you may know of that I can try...Â

My wife has an iMac (I don't know any other way to identify it e.g. model number), and she has this 3rd party calibration software that I'm trying to use. I am not used to a Mac, and I cannot find the display settings for the monitor. There are no buttons on the monitor, and when I go to preferences, I can only find the brightness control. I've googled this and cannot find a clear, simple answer. I have used every version of Windows (currently on 8.1 on my PC) and it's easy for me on that platform. I suppose it's just that I don't really know how to navigate Mac OS.

I have an iMac with a 500 GB hard disk. Currently I have two partitions on it. According to Disk Utility one partition is 266 GB in size, the other one 200 GB. That makes a total of 466 GB --> 34 GB missing.Previously I had a Bootcamp-Windows partition of about 30 GB, but I erased it using Disk Utility. However, it seems that the space is still missing. What could be the explanation for this, and how can I get this space back?

Is it possible to change a block size? I have a RAID 0 partition dedicated to video capture. Having blocks larger than the default 4KB would benefit performance. Could not find any options in neither Disk Utility nor Terminals diskutil command.

The stock 1920x1200 resolution is really amazing except it makes it extremely hard to read anything due to the very very small text size.
Is there anyway to keep the 1920 x 1200 resoltuion while increasing the size of icons/text?
I know you can do this in Windows 7, but does leopard have an option?
