OS X Yosemite :: Notification Center Not Asking For Permission / Prompting?

i have just purchased a MacBook Pro off a friend and so it has recently been restored to factory settings and upgraded to yosemite. I use eBay a lot but have discovered there is no app for eBay. Then i found out you can get notifications from Safari. I know eBay is one of the websites the websites supported but the prompt pop-up isn't appearing when I'm on the website. I'm logged in too.Â

how you can add apps to the notification centre? I know if you visit a website for the first time it gives you a choice to add it or not but what if you said no but now you want to add the app. How do I do that?Â

Ok, so I have everything set right in Notification Preferences and in Internet Accounts in System Preference. I'm not getting notifications in Notification Center nor am I getting Alerts.

Feature request for combining the new presented notification center widgets and the old dashboard widgets and its designated space with the special F4 key. Â
Feature request to consider turning the old dashboard into a fullscreen notification center with multiple columns and grid-based resizing of widgets. Â
Let users decide what the launchpad/dashboard/F4 key would act like. Â
The upper right corner notification center button. One click for sidebar, two clicks for full screen notifications center. Â
Right now the old dashboard is pretty much useless with its ancient widgets. And launchpad is rather useless with the new Yosemite Spotlight.

Why can't I open and answer an instant imessage notification using just one key(such as enter key)? If I shouldn't, what's the use of answering right from notification? I can instead, move my mouse to the app, right?

I have iMessage/SMS forwarding turned on on my MacBook pro. When I type a new message, it allows me to search by contact name, however when I select a contact, the name disappears and Messages only shows the contact number. When I get a notification, the contact name shows, but the Messages window still only shows the contact number. iCloud is turned on and contacts are syncing.Â
I've seen several replies that say to go to "details" in the Message account tab, but once I enter my password there, it doesn't show me anything new. I don't use Messages on my Mac very often, but I'd like to try to solve this issue. Â

Paypal emails for notification of payment - do not print properly - I get a page break after the header info - and in some cases I cannot print the body of the email even though it displays. This has been an on going issue for months - PAYPAL will not pursue.

When i unzip music or any file from winzip to any location on my laptop then open it some message will come " you dont have permission"Â i have always to go to get info the change the permission for every file so i can open it.. Â

Suddenly I can not save a document/file and it says I don't have permission.
I do; I checked the get info and all are set to read and write permissions.
And I had opened a file on my mac, not in the cloud.Â
This is new; had not happened last week.
What operator error could I have done??Â

The Yosemite overview states that I can answer and initiate calls. I can do neither. I have an IPhone 4S w/IOS 8.1.1. I have unlocked my phone and the results are the same.

I would like to skip this step which breaks the execution of the script and automation of the DMG generation. I have the latest version of Safari (5.0.2) on Snow Leopard 10.6.4. I'm also using 1Password (3.4.4). I'm encountering two issues:
1) Safari rarely Autofills user/passwords when surfing. Autofill is checked off for "User names and passwords".
2) I keep getting prompted over and over again to save my login information in Safari. I continue to click "Yes" but neither Autofill remembers the information and I get prompted again the next time I login.

I'm not able to connect to my network, and I'm stock. I'm not a MAC user generally. So I'll try to explain to you briefly what I've been trying to do. No command line stuff! Switching my computer on shows me that I have 3 networks available, I tried to connect to the one I want, it prompted me for the username and password, and kept the authentication option as Auto. Clicking enter doesn't do anything! It should have prompted up for the certificate to install. I checked to see if I have the certificate previously installed using the keychain utility and there wasn't anything there. I even deleted the login key, but its still showing an error in Safari "you are not connected to the internet".

Lately, whenever I start it up in the morning, I will almost immediately get a shutdown prompt ("Are you sure you want to shut down your computer now" ...). Nothing on the desk is touching the power button. Whenever I click "cancel", the prompt pops back up within a few seconds. If I hit shutdown or restart, it will just startup again with the same problem. Putting it to sleep doesn't work either, because as soon as it dozes off, another prompt pops up to wake it back up.Â
My company's IT guy thinks it is a power supply issue. He suggested that I unplug the cord from the machine and let it sit for 20-30 minutes (thinking it was building up too much of a residual charge or something like that). This actually worked for a period and still works most days, albeit not very reliably.
One intersting side note is that this problem only seems to occur in the morning. After, I've messed with the power cord and rebooted a couple of times, the machine seems to just get over the issue and I can work normally for much of the day. I'd to think I have a serious powersupply issue that might cause a crash.

I just set up my Airport Extreme, which is connected to my modem, and created a new network. The problem is that when I connect my MBP to my new network, it doesn't prompt for the password which I have set to WPA2. I'm not sure if it's the cause, but I called my ISP about my Airport Extreme previously finding an invalid IP address and just overall not working. He told me that it's strangely acting like a hub instead of a router which he said is not secure. I'm not really sure what he meant but he doesn't seem to know how to fix it. I can connect to the internet but the problem is that there is absolutely not security and perhaps that's the cause of the airport acting weird?

I'm experiencing some issue when I tried to reinstall my OS. It just keeps prompting me Mac OS X cannot be installed on this computer. You have to use your Time Machine to restore..... etc. But its a brand new hard disk. I have also tried using another hard disk. Its just keep prompting the same error.I also have deleted and recreate with 2 partitions, but problem still surface. Deleted and Erase at Utilities- Disk Utility, also can't help.

We are having 20 nos of 3.06ghz intel core i3 imac with 10.6.4 mac os x and it is bind with Active directory, if the user move the folder inside the network shared drive smb(ntfs) it is prompting for macintosh administrator user id and password. sometimes it is moving without any issue.

I was just talking to my friend over the Message app on my MacBook and then the red bubble at the top right of the icon said '2', but she had only replied once. Now every time I read her latest reply, there's still a '1' red bubble on the icon, even though there are no unread messages.

I'm not getting email notification sounds when I get an email in mail. I have tried changing the sounds. My updates are current. I'm using 10.5.4, and it used to work. I get all other sounds except the new mail sounds. Can someone help Apple Care is useless in helping me with this. I have a macbook running the same OS and every thing with the same sound, and it works just fine everytime.

I have a MacBook (2 GHz, 2GB RAM) OSX 10.6.2. The problem that I have with it is that I will not tell me when it is on reserve battery, so I shuts down with out me knowing. The computer has reported that the battery needs to be replaced soon, but I can't see how that would affect the battery notification. Also all of the energy preferences have been set back to default so there is nothing in the preferences that would be affecting this.

where I can't get the notification when the other person is typing. Below is a screen shot when the function was working, you see a " " which lets you know the other person is typing:Â However this is not working anymore. It works for Google Talk, but it doesn't seem to work for AIM.

My push notification for Facebook & Twitterwere working absolutely fine for sometime now, till recentled my Face Book & Twitter passwords. I deleted the account from System Preferences -> Internet Accounts & added it back again, but that hasn't worked either.
