how you can add apps to the notification centre? I know if you visit a website for the first time it gives you a choice to add it or not but what if you said no but now you want to add the app. How do I do that?

View 1 Replies View Relatedi have just purchased a MacBook Pro off a friend and so it has recently been restored to factory settings and upgraded to yosemite. I use eBay a lot but have discovered there is no app for eBay. Then i found out you can get notifications from Safari. I know eBay is one of the websites the websites supported but the prompt pop-up isn't appearing when I'm on the website. I'm logged in too.

Feature request to consider turning the old dashboard into a fullscreen notification center with multiple columns and grid-based resizing of widgets.
Let users decide what the launchpad/dashboard/F4 key would act like.
The upper right corner notification center button. One click for sidebar, two clicks for full screen notifications center.
Right now the old dashboard is pretty much useless with its ancient widgets. And launchpad is rather useless with the new Yosemite Spotlight.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am setting up a Lion Server which allows users to enroll their ipad, and want to send out push notification.
After I got a SSL cert, enroll the ipad. However, I could not see any way to push my notification to application in my ipad. So here is my question:
1. Does the APNs set up in the Lion Server Connecting to the gateway.apple.com:2195 or directly connect to the ipad? Because my target environment will be a private network.
2. How can I configure Lion Server so that it could send out push notification? ( either from apple or direcly push )

However, none of the users has ever received a notification after a page has been updated. Perhaps I miss something, but for me this does not work.

I need to create a Watch Folder that when a file is dropped in, a folder action is triggered and that file is moved to another folder and an email is sent to say that the file has been moved.
The easy bit is creating the Watch Folder action, I have that working no problem. I can also send the email but what I can't figure out is how to customize the email content to say which specific file has been moved? How can I obtain the file name and paste that into the email notification?

Has anyone successfully set up a D-Link DNS320 NAS on their network? The DLink manuals provide minimal to nil instruction for Mac setups.I have setup the NAS with 2 3TB WD Caviar Green drives, but everytime I drag files to folders on the NAS, the Finder either asks for a password or tells me outright I don't have permission to read/write files on the NAS. Other times when I try to dismount the NAS, I need to reboot the Finder to release the NAS so it can be unmounted.None of my folder settings (vies, location, view options) stick from one view/setting to the next. I can't see how the drives were formatted (I am assuming Windows-specific formatting, over which there is no control or access to options).
I have set up the read/write access using the DLINK web interface (10.0.1.1) and all appears to be normal until I try to use the NAS.I have tried to fix ACLs and permissions etc with individual folders and with the volumes themselves using Terminal command "sudo chown -R `id -un`:`id -gn` " but this hasn't worked.Various other sites have been visited (eg url...) but no help there. The DLINK web pages are near-totally useless. Unless someone else has gotten theirs to work, its going into the bin and I will have wasted $$ in buying the box

View 3 Replies View RelatedEvery time I boot up my iMac (27 inch, OS 10.7.3), I receive an error message labelled "Mount Notification quit unexpectedly". When I open the detail box, theatre is a lot in there, such as "Process: Mount Notification [377]" or "Parent Process: vendorservice [360]" but nothing that helps me identifying the problem, since I am not familiar with OS X as I would be with Windows 7 for example. It says that the error message is sent to Apple, but I had it for a couple of months now, so I doubt anything will happen from that that end.
The problem seem to start when I installed Parallels, which seem to work otherwise fine.

Is there a way to move the desktop background when choosing the "Fill Screen" option? I have a portrait oriented picture of two standing people with their faces being near the top. When I set this picture as the background and chose "Fill Screen" it zooms in to the center of the picture, which is at chest level. Is there any way to move the picture up so it focuses on the faces, sort of like when chosing a Facebook profile picture?

If I go into keychain>settings>show in menu bar there is a little lock in the menu bar. First option is "protect screen" which is what I need really often in my day. So how to activate that option via hotkey? I tried several times but I could not manage to do that. Active corners with the screen saver dos not work because it feels to slow.I want to press a button and be done.Going into standby takes to long to reactivate... so the described option seems the right one.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a MacBook (2 GHz, 2GB RAM) OSX 10.6.2. The problem that I have with it is that I will not tell me when it is on reserve battery, so I shuts down with out me knowing. The computer has reported that the battery needs to be replaced soon, but I can't see how that would affect the battery notification. Also all of the energy preferences have been set back to default so there is nothing in the preferences that would be affecting this.
