OS X Yosemite :: Lost All Pictures In Mac Laptop After Upgrading - How To Restore
Dec 9, 2014
I have lost all my pictures stored in iPhoto in my mac after upgrading to os x yosemite. how to revert back to old version and get all my pictures back?
I have been having a problem editing pictures (screen goes white when I click 'edit') so i went to a discussion about it. I followed directions for fixing the problem including renaming my iphoto folder and now I can't find my old pictures. I changed the name back and still no photos. I tried to go to file vault and restore the pictures but I get a message saying that file vault can't be found. I know a little about fixing problems but some of the information about this issue is over my head. I've had this mac for 2 years and until now have been able to trouble shoot all my problems.
I'm on my way to get insane! I've lost all my files after the last update of itunes. The message is that my itunes library is not compatible with the new version of itunes 10.6.Since I've made this upgrade,I can't recover my ancient files!
This may really seem like a simple question, but I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to load pictures onto my Mac laptop. I have a Kodak camera and I put it on the dock and plugged in the USB Port, but my computer doesn't recognize that something is plugged in.
Since upgrading to Mac OS x 10.6, I have lost access to Device Manager for my HP printer. HP talked me through uninstalling software and re-installing new software, but the Device manager is missing. HP says it must be problem with my operating system.
I finally updated to Mac OS lion, I started with Mac OS snow leopard, did a clean install and then upgraded. But somehow I lost applications iPhoto, iMovie, and Garage Band. Was there a step before this I was supposed to do? Also is there a way to get them back?
It's been a little while it says an error message when I try to open some of my pics: The file "297275_10150338673995638_17125605637_10107621_387986_n.jpg" couldn't be opened because you don't have permission to view it. It tells me to go in finder and change settings...
But when I go it says 3 names: first one is read and write but it is not even my actual apple id, it was only for 2 minutes in the store when I bought it and then we changed the setting. Then there is "staff" in read only and "everyone" in read only. Even if I change it all to read and write it doesn't work, but anyway I am the only user of my computer... so whats up with that anyway?
Upgraded from Snow Leopard to Lion and, in the process, appear to have lost access to my iTunes. After the upgrade, when I clicked on the iTunes icon, I was then asked if I wanted to "install iTunes!" I have found folders that appear to contain the contents, but really don't want to re-build my iTunes from scratch.
After upgrading to OS 10.10.1 I keep getting the following error message: "Initialization Failure CrossOver is unable to initialize a critical component. Failed to import cxutils module int Python. See console for errors. The program will now exit."Â

optimising my iMac? I've upgraded to Yosemite (what a mistake!) and now the videos on the net are endlessly charging, my track pad is not that responsive and my iMac is soo slow!
I have bought MBA last month only. I could see the battery back up will be for 13 hours if I charge completely. Few days back I have updated OS to 10.10.1. Battery back up has been fallen down to just 3 hours after complete charging. I will either use safari to browse or see some videos. I have checked the condition of the Battery. Its showing Normal. No apps are using significant energy as well. Also it significantly increases the heat which I have never seen while using Mavericks. What should I do to get back my 13 hours battery back up.Â
My macbook is so slow after upgrading to yosemite.
Here are the specs and the Etrecheck results. MacBook (13-inch, Mid 2010)processor2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 DuoMemory2 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB And also here is the Etrecheck results,  Problem description:My macbook is running very slow EtreCheck.
After upgrading my MacBook Pro 13-inch (mid-2010) with 8 GB of RAM to Yosemite (10.10.1), the monitor streaks on and off (almost like it's an old dot matrix printer). I've repaired the permissions and the disk, but that didn't work. how I can get the monitor to stop flashing?
My mom accidentally deleted all the Christmas photos when she only meant to delete just one of them. She'd already deleted them off the camera. It all happened so fast, before Time Machine or any backups.
just renewed my hard drive in my imac, cant seem to restore my photo library into its original folder. i run lightroom so the photos need to be in the right place x
I was wondering if I would be able to remote access my lost laptop if the administrator account has been deleted. Being absent minded I left my bag at the bus station and I figure who ever has found it is keeping it by now since I haven't gotten a phone call yet and it's been over a week.
Upgraded my iMac (2010) from Mavericks to Yosemite yesterday. Since when, anything I try to print to my Kodak printer grinds to a halt after there first few seconds of starting to print. The printer will print fine from another laptop. It will print test pages and direct photocopies all without a problem. Doesn't matter whether am connected via wireless or USB, the same thing happens. Am thinking I should possibly try to 'downgrade' back to Mavericks - if that is possible.
