I operate an iMac: v 10.6.8, 8 GB, and ample space.
I have checked all the requirements for Yosemite, but nothing happens when I click on the download button.
All the links I've tried so far take me around in circle

I've just installed an SSD in my new iMac 27", see here. I'm fast learning though (diglloydTools and other commentators) that once the application has loaded the SSD isn't involved very much from there on, so there are the same old performance problems. I'm finding in Firefox/Firebug where there is a large DOM (nothing exceptional) performance is still woeful.
So, baring in mind the Core i7 processor is under $200 and it would appear to have been possible to upgrade the iMac's processors in the past, does anybody have any advice for me? What parts will I need, have you done it and what was your experience, any common problems with doing this, are the parts themselves upgradeable (the quoted link only suggests they are) etc.

After upgrading to Lion my Imac is considerably slow to the point where some apps are not usable. Several seconds of latency for some commands where I did not notice anything before

I have a 27-inch, Mid 2011 running the 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5. I currently have 16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 in four slots (4 each).
When I uploaded OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 and shortly after uploaded CleanMyMac 2 I started to experience tremendous latency in processing speeds on all applications. Running CleanMyMac 2 multiple times and removing no longer used apps to free up space did little to resolve the issue.Â

I updated my late 2012 27" iMac from the latest Mavericks to Yosemite. now it takes 30+ second between mouse click and action. For example, if I click on iTunes it takes 30 seconds to a minute before iTunes opens. I get the pinwheel while waiting. I rebooted and the startup hangs on the progress bar for several minutes, then black screen for several minutes, then eventually gets to desktop.Â

I have an iMac 2011. Processor: 2.7GHz Intel Core i5/ Memory 4GB
OS X Yosemite, version 10.10.1Â
After I change my OS from Mavericks to Yosemite, moving files between folders is very slow.
For example, if I move one jpg file in Desktop to Pictures folder (or just any other folders like Trash), it takes about 3 seconds.Â
When I was still using Mavericks, it made that Ding sound and transferred files right away. However, now, although it makes the Ding sound right away, the file is still there for 3 seconds.Â
I tried to clean up my mac using many apps, but they never fixed this problem.
I've also tried what I saw on this one thread. OS X File Transfers Very Slow
Go->Connect to Server then type "cifs://server-address" but it says there is a problem and did nothing. (maybe different issue)Â

I have bought MBA last month only. I could see the battery back up will be for 13 hours if I charge completely. Few days back I have updated OS to 10.10.1. Battery back up has been fallen down to just 3 hours after complete charging. I will either use safari to browse or see some videos. I have checked the condition of the Battery. Its showing Normal. No apps are using significant energy as well. Also it significantly increases the heat which I have never seen while using Mavericks. What should I do to get back my 13 hours battery back up.Â

After upgrading my MacBook Pro 13-inch (mid-2010) with 8 GB of RAM to Yosemite (10.10.1), the monitor streaks on and off (almost like it's an old dot matrix printer). I've repaired the permissions and the disk, but that didn't work. how I can get the monitor to stop flashing?

Upgraded my iMac (2010) from Mavericks to Yosemite yesterday. Since when, anything I try to print to my Kodak printer grinds to a halt after there first few seconds of starting to print. The printer will print fine from another laptop. It will print test pages and direct photocopies all without a problem. Doesn't matter whether am connected via wireless or USB, the same thing happens. Am thinking I should possibly try to 'downgrade' back to Mavericks - if that is possible.

I upgraded my wife's Late-2007 MacBook White to Lion and now sleeping and shutdown take a very long time. On Snow Leopard, sleep and shutdown was instantaneous! Close the lid and BAM! done. Selecting shutdown on the menu and BAM! turned off.Â
Now, after upgrading to Lion, they take a really long time. I deleted the shutdown log, turned off the computer and then turned it back on and checked on it. All processes go in less than a second, but com.apple.securityd doesn't exit at all and has to be killed as I see this message on the log:Â
19988665    1 com.apple.launchd                          28 com.apple.securityd                     Exit timeout elapsed (20 seconds). KillingÂ
One of the last messages on the log is this one:Â
19992024    1 com.apple.launchd                           1 com.apple.launchd                       System: Userspace shutdown took approximately 20 seconds.Â
So I figure if it were not for com.apple.securityd, shutdown would be instantaneous, just as Snow Leopard was.Â

I came from OS Snow Leopard on a fairly basic Macbook Pro 13 inch model, and upgraded to Lion. I use Finder a lot, and something I noticed immediately was how SLOW finder is now in OS Lion. Does anyone else seem to be having this problem? When I use the space-bar to preview something it can take up to 10 seconds for me to load a preview, where it used to be instantaenous in Snow Leopard. I also have problems moving around in finder, like going from Downloads to Desktop, there's a 5 second delay minimum.

Bought my Macbook almost 3 years ago and it worked brilliantly but recently (after upgrading to Leopard?) I have become painfully familiar with the beach ball. Before it was blazing-fast. Now it always seems about two steps behind my brain. And that's really slow.

My Safari browser has been running slow since upgrading to Mavericks last fall. Some webpages (Facebook, USAA) won't even fully load, while others load fine. I've read a lot of the other posts about slow Safari and I've tried the other tricks that people have posted (Changing DNS to the Google one, using "Reset" on Safari, turning off extensions and plug-ins) I finally downloaded Chrome and it's just as fast as my safari "used" to be. So it can't be the internet connection because both my phone/iPad browsers are super fast and my MacBook Pro's Chrome is super fast. I just want to go back to using Safari!Â

Since the dreaded Yosemite upgrade my mac has ground to more or less a total halt trying to open the internet in any number of browsers (safari and firefox to name but two). Â
I have been able to run a speed test and says my wifi has my 60+gb download speed and about 6 upload so no issue there.Â
I am confused to say the least what has gone wrong as my phone and iPad seem to work ok. simple terms if there are any solutions what the problem is as i am really crippled and my business is suffering.Â
PS Apple i am really not impressed by this totally botched upgrade and when going into a store to see one of the technicians they will only see you if you pay.. this is your fault i might remind you.Â
