I upgraded my imac to yosemite and now my kodak printer won't work. I have figured out how to fix this problem by reading through the community post but now need my system password to proceed. However I have forgotten it and not sure how to reset it.

I tried to log in with the master password but do not have the password or install disk for OSX. I asked my friend about it and he said the same thing, he lost the user and master password including install disk. I took the comp from his hands anyway, it's in new condition and he never really used it, just forgot about it I suppose. It also seems that on startup the mac searches for disks and servers, so it could of been a part of a network system???????
I would like to know if there is a way to get into the bios and reset the whole system without password prompts and all that. Which is the best way to do this?
I have the mac osx install disk from my ibook but I tried to boot the disk and it's not booting. I also have the install disk for os tiger and that's not booting either. There must be a super secure lock on the system.
basically i have an old imac computer which doesnt come up with cd and i forgot the password, I have read some tutorial that tells how to reset the password by:
holding down the command +s key when we hear the tone of imac at the startup and then insert some command line.
The issue with me is that i tried it in mnay ways but i cant get to the terminaleverytime at the startup i use apple+s key ,nothing happens ,it loads normally and gets to the login screen, keys seems to be fine what can be the issue and is it there any way to get to the terminal w/o having cd etc.
I am locked out. How to reset password?

I have an old school Indigo IMac. It was my uncle's and unfortunately he just passed away. I am attempting to install software but it wants the password. Obviously I cant ask my uncle. If I can not install my apps then this Mac will be worthless to me.

I recently bought an early Imac G5 1.6ghz with 256mb ram and a 80gb hard disk. It came with no keyboard or mouse. I recently came across an old iMac G3 by a dumpster (It is perfectly functional, the fact that I found it by the dumpster has nothing to do with the problem). I brought it up to find out that every user created on the computer is password protected. I've been trying to get past it, but it's impossible. I can't afford an install CD, resetting the PRAM and the PRU doesn't do a thing, and Open Firmware is a pain. Is there any way to get into the iMac without having to buy a disc or go all around town trying to find the original owner so I can get his passwords?

I have this iMac for slightly over two years and when I forst got it I thought it would be a good idea to have it start up a 6:55am each weeday. After about a week I changed my mind and went back into Power Saver and turned off the settings. Since then, I can't tget the machine to quit auto-starting at 6:55, 7:55 and even sometime 8:55. After i got home, i realized that the iMac now always asks me to login with my password (which i do). But i would prefer not to have to login/put in password every time. just want my iMac to open as it always had.
I assume i go to system preferences/users & groups. i see i am the current user/administrator. When i click "change password" it says: "*** is using an iCloud password to log in and unlock the screen.
do you want to change your iCloud password or stop using your iCloud password to unlock this mac AND CREATE A SEPARATE PASSWORD?"
Don't want separate or any passwords. Do i just want to click the "change iCloud password" button? Ijust want to log in without a password. How do i do that?

I purchased a new iMac and believed it b be compromised after a few weeks use and it was remotely wiped but the password was not kept or remembered. Currently there is a grey screen with a 4 digit box and a red sentence that says it is disabled try again in 60 minutes...I took the machine to an apple reseller and they couldn't do anything , there is no apple store near where I live. My mother recently passed away and I've inherited her Mac Pro. She was the official "administrator" and no one knows her password. I made a change to my spam setting (move spam to spam folder) and since then my mail quits everytime I start it up. I'm even able to get to the preference for it but it just quits.
The resolutions offered here are complicated.
Is there a way to just RESET mail? Or even re-install the OS?
Often when I put my iMac to sleep in the evening I find the system unresponsive when I come to use it the next day. I can see instantly that the system has an issue because I see that the screen backlight is on. The system does not react to any mouse or keyboard input and requires a power off reset to restart.
I thought that the issue may involve Parallels which is often running when I have this issue , however, I have spoken with Parallels support who recommended removing parallels, repairing the disk permissions and reinstalling Parallels which appears to have had no effect.
The iMac is very new and was purchased in November 2014 and is configured with a 3.5GHz i7 processor, 16GB or RAM 3TB HD and NVIDEA 980 graphics card.

I'm running OS X 10.10.1 on a 2010 Mac Pro with a Bose Companion 5 USB sound system. Everything works great and as expected except when I restart the Mac Pro. The sound settings switch off the Bose speakers and reverts back to the internal speakers of the computer. I have to go in everytime and reset it back to the Bose sound system. I never had this problem using Mavericks.

I tried to put the osx cd in and press c or option on startup and all I get is a lock asking for a password. On normal logon it asks for user name and password. He remembers the user but not the password. Is there any way to reset it completely?

I just recently got an iBook G3. I found it in my towns recycling center and brought it home. The user on it does not have admin privileges. Seeing how it's old and is running 10.2 I was just going to install some sort of Linux on it. I went to go boot into a CD and it came up with a grey screen with a password prompt? I don't have the password. Does the same thing if I try to boot into single user mode.
