Hardware :: Installing Epson Color 3000 PPD On 10.5 Leopard?
Nov 12, 2007Have just upgraded from Tiger to Leopard, but I can no longer access the print driver for our EPSON Stylus Color 3000 using the Epson StylusRIP. I can see the RIP server ok and it has installed as a printer. However neither of the two PPDs it finds (Gutenprint v5.1.3 and Gimp-Print v5.0.0-beta2) work...I think these are the native drivers rather than Postscript!
I have a copy of the PPD from the 10.4 installation (EPSON StylusCOLOR3000 v3010.106) but cannot install it. Regardless of where I put it when I try and select it with Driver>Other, it is always greyed out even though all the other PPDs are ok. Have even tried compressing it into a .gz file but it is still greyed out.
The only difference I can see is the file permissions, all the other .gz files have a Read&write permission for both "System" and "Admin", whereas my driver doesn't. However I can find no way to assign these users to my PPD file. This of course may be completely irrevelant. In fact if I copy my PPD to the desktop plus some of the other gz files from Library>Printers>PPDs>Contents>Resources, they lose the System and Admion users, yet I can still select those drivers but not mine!

Nov 14, 2008I have a Epson 3800 and I have been printing a PSD file from my windows laptop and everything works fine, checked colour profile and everything is the same. The Mac has CS4 and the laptop CS3, I let the printer handle the colours. When I print from the Mac the colours come out dull and flat. I am using Epson Velvet Fine Art Paper 13 X 19. Just wasted 2 sheets plus ink!

Apr 20, 2012I have and old and useful printer -Epson Stylus Color 440- and just bougth a cable for connecting it to USB port. Add a new print on its Print and Scan Preference Panel and it was recognized inmediatly, but I was told there was not any driver to that printer. Â
Tried to set "Epson Stylus Color Series" on its driver but when I went to print, printer seemed to work but does not eject any ink. It seemed as if I were ran out of ink; its car moved over the places occupied by the photo and sounded as normal printing, but not a drop of ink. I checked on an older windows pc, and ink is full, printed normally. I also looked for its drivers on Epson pages, but it seems there are only available for previos Mac OSs, not for X.Â
A son told me that in his Snow Leopard MacBook White there's a dirver called "Epson Stylus Color 440 gutenprint" on his Print and Scan Driver Menu; haven't tried to print from his MacBook yet, and as I searched, those are open drivers.Â
I wonder if I can download and install that "Epson Stylus Color 440 gutenprint" from the web, of if there's a way to copy it from my son's Macbook, when he comes and check.

Jul 18, 2006I bought my mac back in Feb. and I received a free printer along with it. The Epson all in one Stylus piece of ****. Well I shook the individual ink catridges well and installed them all. Since then I haven't been able to get a clear sheet of paper. All the colours look faded but the actual picture is not distorted. It's just the contrast of the colour thats gone. now is there a way I can alter the amount of ink my printer is using? I have tried aimlessly, looking for an option but I cannot find any.

May 17, 2012Last night, when I tried to print a document in Acrobat on my Epson 2200, I got a notice to the effect that new software was required for the 2200, and did I want to download it. Feeling comfortable that I was dealing with an Apple installation, I approved the install. Now I cannot print anything on my Epson 2200. Every print attempt fails. I have reinstalled the print driver, tried another driver (Gutenprint), but can't get anything to work.I'm running Lion 10.7.4 on an iMac with 4 Gb of RAM.Â

I've just tried to install the epson drivers for my printer Epson Stylus Photo R220, went to their site and downloded the driver, installed and resarted.
Then installed the Epson Print CD application that comes with the CD, and installed, however when i try to print to CD an error states:
"The epson print driver dealing with CD printing is not installed"
I've looked on the CD and on their site and cannot find anything.

Jun 28, 2008I've been at this all nite and I am fed up. Can someone please tell me how I can print a panoramic print on roll paper using CS2 on a MAC (so please now windows advice) using an epson pro 4000? I constantly get the message that the wrong paper source is selected. Roll paper is fed into the printer, I select A2 roll paper (any of the A2 roll paper options), or I try a custom paper size (42x120 cm) on page setup. For paper I select velvet fine art paper (I don't really know what kind of paper it is to be honest), because that will select the rear feed. Unless I am mistaken (quite possible) the rear feed is used by roll paper.This does not work. I tried setting to A2, but then I get only an A2 size part of my print, and still it won't print anyway with the same annoying message. I don't have these problems with my R1800. With the R1800 I just select roll paper and everything automatically prints perfect, but not the pro 4000, can someone please explain to me what settings I have to use in page setup of CS2 and what settings I have to use in the printer driver of the pro 4000 printer ?

Feb 20, 2012I purchased an Epson Stylus NX530 printer with wireless capability. I have a MacBook Pro running OSX v10.7. My printer is installed and works as expected when connected via USB cord but printer shows up offline when USB is disconnected. I connected my printer to my wireless network through my router (entering name of connection and passcode) and enabled the sharing capabiliy in System Preferences. So my setup is that I connected my MacBook to my router and my printer to the router. Is there anything else I am missing? Would connecting both the computer and printer to the wireless router be all I shoud need to do to be able to print wirelessly? Is my wirelss router considered my "network?" If my printer has a wireless internet connection, should I be able to "view" it anywhere on my MacBook other than printer settings when it is not connected via USB (I had to initially connect my computer via USB to the printer during setup).Â

May 1, 2012Has anyone been able to print to CD's on Epson r320 when I try to print to the CD tray, I get an error message saying the CD tray is open and the job is automatically stopped. Apr 25, 2009I have MacBook OsX 10.5.6. Had a direct printer connection but recently decided to hook up my Epson R1800 stylus photo printer through TC. I removed the old default printer and added it through System Preferences-> Print and Fax. It is recognized as a Time Capsule Printer, bonjour kind.
But when I press print i get for 2 seconds window saying that page is printing but printer queue is empty and nothing happens. It feels almost as if printer is not hooked up. I can not locate this printer on Epson Utility (separate software) either. Does anyone have or had in the past similar problem?

Jun 5, 2014Epson 4800 print perfectly on direct USB connection to MacBook Pro with the 9.17 Epson driver, but when connected to USB port on the Time Capsule, there is red sign and notice that the printer is unconnected. Both the port of the Time Capsule and the cabel are OK, as I print with them to Epson SP R800 without any issue...Â
Time Capsule is correctly recognised on the local WiFi and set with correct password. USB port is working for other printers correctly. Just the 4800 is not recognised. I tried everything (deleting the printer and reseting all printers too)...Â

Jul 2, 2014double sided printing on mac. Since I changed to a mac, I havent been able to print double sided from my epson sx425w printer. This can be quite annoying if you a lot of pages to print. The double sided print option is just disabled so I cant even select it and I dont have the option of "Duplexer" or "Duplex Printing" as suggested in other posts. Besides, I've not been able to use my scanner since upgrading to Mavericks-I know others have had similar problems too.

When printing multiple documents on an Epson Stylus Photo R280, the "Epson Printer Monitor" window forces itself to the front every single time a new doc starts printing from the queue. You can be typing in another application, and each time a new doc begins printing, you lose your place and have to click back to what you were doing because the print monitor springs to the front. Does anyone know how to turn this off? Can anyone think of a way to stop it? I want my BACKGROUND printing back! I'm on a Mac Pro 2.66, OS X 10.5.4. This occurs regardless of which program I print from. I searched the Epson website, no dice. Googled my key terms, no luck there either.
