Now when I try to open iPhoto and it reads unresponsive in red letters on the force quit window. When I select and click force quit computer then freezes. I am however able to open iTunes but when I plug my iPod in computer then freezes.

OS X Yosemite :: Mail Search Doesn't Work On IMac Running 10.10.1
Dec 10, 2014Search in Mail is not working for me on my brand new retina iMac running 10.10.1
If I type in something in the search field it returns no results but the same query in spotlight returns results (in my mail messages)
I have repaired disk in safe mode, repaired permissions, deleted envelope index files, reindexed hard disk, rebuilt mailboxes and spotlight indexes, to no avail.
( sudo mdutil -E /, cd ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData, rm Envelope Index*, ... )
What else can be done ? My other desktop mac is a 2009 Mac Pro upgraded to Yosemite and the search in Mail is working perfectly with the same iCloud accounts.

Dec 8, 2014When i select a portrait photo the preview on the right shows the correct orientation, but when i click print the full print preview (and then the printout) has turned to landscape trimming the top and bottom off the photo. This has only happened since Yosemite.

Dec 6, 2014I'm on a newer iMac running Yosemite and went to install ilife 09, to get iDVD (that I need) and somehow it killed iphoto? The ap wont even open. I opted for the custom install and thought everything went fine (only selected iDvd, but I have no iphoto.. I'm downloading it from the ap store now, My question is this, I purchased ilife 09 and ilife 11. This shouldnt be a problem should it? I should do the custom install on 09 (opting only for iDvd) then do the same for 11 right?

OS X Yosemite :: Stop IPhoto Opening When Connect IPad
Dec 11, 2014Calibre enabled me to stop iTunes from opening every time I connected my iPad, but since Yosemite, it's now iPhoto that opens every time we're joined. I don't understand iPhoto, which never wants to do anything I want it to, so I almost never use it. Not only that, it takes an age to fully open while it tries to read photos from my iPad, the Cloud and probably from the Other Side.
I am guessing this might be connected with iCloud, but I want to stop it. I've looked at iPhoto's Preferernces, I've looked at a number of things in System Preferences, but so far I can't stop this automatic opening.

OS X Yosemite :: Why Does IPhoto Open During Startup If IPad Is Connected
Nov 30, 2014I usually connect my iPad as soon as I've heard the startup chimes, but since upgrading to Yosemite, whenever the iPad is connected, iPhoto opens. Usually, nothing will open until all my extension things like Dropbox are happy, but iPhoto somehow manages to kick off. Now, I don't like iPhoto. I don't understand it and it rarely does anything I want it to, so I don't often use it and I particularly do not want it to open, slowing up starting and serving no purpose.

OS X Yosemite :: Export IPhoto Library To External Storage
Dec 6, 2014I bought a new Retina Macbook & have over 10 years of photos that I DO NOT want to bring into my new computer.
I want to transfer them to an external storage drive (Lacie Rugged Thunderbolt).
Prior to Yosemite, I could go into iPhoto from the left column of finder window and transfer.
One of the crappiest things I don't like about New iPhoto is that it's so difficult to export the photos. It feels like Apple thinks they own them. Pulling my music off was much easier.
Finder no longer gives me the iPhoto option anymore. The PHOTOS Folder only shows photos that came in from a camera or other source.
Photo Stream can't do it as it's just a storage drive. My photos are set up to go from photo stream right into my Macbook so they have to be somewhere on my hard drive.

MacBook Air :: Headphones Don't Work In Yosemite
Dec 7, 2014Ever since upgrading to Yosemite I cannot use headphones on my Macbook Air (2013 model).
The problem seems to only occur when I am on the same network as an Apple TV. If I unplug the Apple TV, or turn off Wi-Fi on my Mac then the headphones start working again. Obviously this isn't a great workaround, as I like to be able to stream music over the Internet and listen using headphones. The usefulness of an Apple TV is greatly reduced if I need to wait for it to cold-boot each time I want to use it!

Dec 4, 2014I recently upgraded my OS with the free installation for Yosemite. When trying installing Yosemite my Macbook Pro running Mavericks asked me for the user password, which I provided.Yosemite installed fine, no problems.
Now, however, I am needing to install some software on my Macbook Pro after installing Yosemite. Like before, it asked me for my password, but this time it came back as incorrect. I tried several more times and it's still registering as incorrect.
I followed the directions shown here: OS X Yosemite: Reset a login password
However, I can't follow the instructions past step 4:
4. Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Users & Groups.
5. Log in to your account....
When I click on Users & Groups, I don't see anything that allows me to log in to my account (I'm assuming it's because I'm already logged into it?). I only see options to Change the Password, open the Contacts Card, Login Options, and change Parental Controls. When I select "Change the Password", it asks me to enter the old password, which I can't do for obvious reasons.
So what can I do to recover my existing password?

Dec 2, 2014The Reminders App does not work on Yosemite (10.10.1) with two iCloud accounts. It seems like when there are two iCloud accounts connected in Yosemite (10.10.1) the plist file for Reminders disappears.
I have tried restarting Reminders; restarting the mac; starting the mac in recovery mode to repair the disk and disk permissions; and starting the mac in recovery mode and reinstalling OSX.
