My wife is having some issues with her new MacBook and MS Word...
While having multiple windows open she uses expose to switch between them. About 1/3 of the time she clicks on a window, it appears for 1/2 a second, then her original window appears. This makes it very difficult for her to navigate the windows she has open.
There have also been a few times where one word window appears over her current window.
Does anyone know what may be up with my Mac G5?? It just keeps on turning itself off without warning! It can happen at anytime... usually about 5 mins after I switch it on, although this has varied!

I have little to no knowledge of the compatibility of the Macmini to a PC. I currently own a 4 yr old HP Pavilion. There's not much wrong with it, it's slowed a little, but my husband and I have been wanting a Mac. We saw the Mac mini and like what we see, but we don't want to have to buy a new printer and monitor when both work perfectly. The monitor is an HP vs15 and the printer is a HP Photosmart USB. Will these work if we buy the Mac mini?

Ok, so the charger port on my computer eats up every charger that I plug into it. Instead of constantly taking my laptop apart and having to replace the DC jack every week or so , i want to buy a mac mini. The only problem is though that I do not know what the max resolution of the mac mini is. I am thinking of buying a monitor off of Newegg, and the mini from apple's website. I am going to be upgrading the $600 mini to max ram, keyboard and mouse, and max processor. So it is gonna be a 2.26 GHz mac mini that I will be using...
View 8 Replies View RelatedA friend of mine currently runs CS4 on a 2GB Windows Vista PC and he is thinking about switching to a new Imac. He has never used Mac OS before and is a bit reluctant to ditch Windows completely. As far as I can see he has a few options, such as using Bootcamp or swapping his Windows version of CS4 for the Mac version.
But I saw a programme called Parallels Switch to Mac which is supposed to migrate his existing Windows set up onto a new Mac.This looks like a good compromise to me, but does anybody run CS4 using Parallels? If so, are there any known issues and does it run at a reasonable speed.
i installed a win 7 on my macbook using boot camp 3.1 and when i switch the screen from mac to win 7 i have no internet in windows, but if i restart pc and choose to start first from Windows everything is working perfect, do somebody knows how to fix it?

Whats's going on!??My finder windows have recently started to randomly close and reload for no reason....I don't get a 'this has unexpectedly quit' message, but whatever i'm doing in finder closes and reloads back to my mounted volumes..Is this happening to anyone else? View 24 Replies View RelatedI've tried basically everything I could find but my games on XP (on Bootcamp) keep minimizing randomly, its sooo annoying.
I did an XP Repair, ran a AVG spyware sweep and found nothing, uninstalled AVG, and I basically uninstalled everything else I had except my games and nothing has worked.
Before my games were working fine (I had like Bioshock, Mirrors Edge, COD5), then I went to my friends house and installed Steam. Somewhere in there this problem started occurring and so I tried uninstalling it, still no luck.
Anybody have a clock fix that works yet? for the problem of the clock jumping 4 hours or so ahead randomly? I don't know how I could use it as my primary partition with this kind of issue, thats why I had to switch back to OS X. A couple other reasons too but we wont get into that right now.

I recently bought my girlfriend a Macbook Pro for school. She loves everything about it except for the fact that she can't work in Word for word processing. I've had my Mac a little longer and I'm growing accustomed to Pages, but she would still rather work in Word. So is there any way for me to install the newest version of Word for her without the hassle of creating a partition and running Windows simultaneously?
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo for the longest time my files in Word 2004 for MAC have had MACRO saved within them. This doesn't really cause any problem for me on my system but when I try to email any word files to anyone it just wont work. The file will be blocked by my hotmail account, and if I use another account that allows me to send it it usually won't work right on the other person's computer. When I try to make them .RTF files... they usually don't display right for other Word users, although they look fine to me, especially when they have some elements like shapes and text boxes within them.
Does anyone know HOW I can get these things to stop saving in every single word file I make? This wasn't always this way.... I think I just accidentally recorded a macro a while back, without knowing what they were or what the consequences might be.
Again, I just need to disable ALL macros. If you know how to do this I'd be greatful if you could share with me.

First, I understand that the green button maximizes the window to fit the contents. Here is my problem...
Word maximizes the window as though the view is set to 100%. When I use Word, however, I always have the view set to 125%. So, when I maximize the window, it acts as though the view is set to 100% and some text gets cut off.
I hope that made sense - It's really more of an annoyance than anything.
Also, why does the green button maximize to full screen for some apps (e.g. firefox), but not others? I swear it has a mind of its own!
How do I set up my mbp to open documents with Microsoft Word 2003 "always" under VMWare Fusion? I tried to set it up but it is not an option/can't figure out where Microsoft Word 2003 is when I right click and go "Open With." It says Microsoft Word 2003 - Boot camp partition but I want it so that it "Always Open with" Microsoft Word 2003.

I remember that I had to download a plug-in in order to be able to add words to the dictionary. A technician did this, so I dont remember what the plug-in was.
I'm trying to edit the text in textboxes that I put in a Word 2008 document. It was straightforward to click, add, edit, etc. for several days while constructing this document. Now that I've added page numbers, I can select the text boxes and click inside, but when I do, the curser goes to the top of the box and won't let me do anything except add text or delete right there at the top. I cannot access the text in the rest of the box to edit or delete. This is on a MacBook with Leopard.

Everytime I press the button k, this is what comes out: Also, everytime I press the left arrow, what happens is that instead of moving to the left for one character it moves all the way to the previous word. You may ask how I'm typing "k" now, Yes I'm using the infamous Copy-Paste. Please help me cause this problem is really irritating. By the way, on the mac, when I press k, this comes out: ˚ and the left arrow goes to the previous word. On the windows though, both keys do absolutely nothing. This is lame.
