I just upgraded my operating system and added more memory to my imac. Word and Excel cannot be used with Lion. How do I delete these from my computer and is there a way to make sure I am optimizing the space on the hard drive?

I am running a MacBook Pro with OS X 10.7.3 and the latest version of Office 2011 with all the updates installed. Both run very slow and now I noticed that when I click on either icon in the dock it says "Application Not Responding" even though the applications are responding, just very slowly. If I close either application and then reopen it, the message is gone until I open a new document.

I have loaded windows 7 and parallels. I want to load MS office so I can send properly formatted excel and doc files to my client. They say the numbers conversion does not translate well to Excel and pages to word. Do I load MS Office in the windows OS? After upgrading to Lion, I can no longer see the text in my word documents or excel worksheets. I know the text is there because it appears in the formula bar - it just isn't visible in the cells. I can also see the text if I quickview the excel files. In the word documents, all I can see are the pictures/images...no text. Weird. I have the latest version of Office 2008 and Lion OS.

After OS Lion installation pre migration to iCloud, I can't access Word or Excel - greyed out no entry sign and error message when try to open. "You can't open the application Microsoft Word because PowerPC applications are no longer supported". Didn't see any warning of this pre-installation. Didn't see any warning of this pre-installation. I am running Lion 10.7.3 on a 2.8GHz CoreDuo iMac from 2007 and on a Macbok Air 2.13 GHz Core duo from 2010. The iMac has 4GB of RAM the Macbook has 2 GB RAM.
I run Microsoft Office 2011 on both machines. For the same file the Macbook operates normally on Word and Excel. The iMac is slow at best and when I try a Save As it hangs for up to 15 minutes brfor letting me change the FIle Name. This effectively makes it unusable.
As far as I can tell the set up of Office on both Machines is identical and I have eliminated duplicate Fonts as suggested by some posts but the problem remains. I have checked Activity Monitor and I am not getting any Page Outs so RAM does not appear to be an issue.
What key do I use to delete a letter or word on the keyboard?

I have a Mac OS X version 10.5.7 i am working on Word 2008 for Mac, version 12.0.1 (080305).
My problem, i created one text box in a document, somehow 2 more appeared. I made the mistake of thinking that to delete the extra text boxes, i simply highlight them and delete them. Silly stupid me, nothing that simple exists and i have wasted an hour trying to figure it out. The help button does squat, barely gives you any info on a text box much less trying to delete it. Does anyone know how to delete a text box in a word document?
My wife is having some issues with her new MacBook and MS Word...
While having multiple windows open she uses expose to switch between them. About 1/3 of the time she clicks on a window, it appears for 1/2 a second, then her original window appears. This makes it very difficult for her to navigate the windows she has open.
There have also been a few times where one word window appears over her current window.

My iMac is too old to upgrade to Lion, so when I switch from MobileMe to iCloud, I understand that I will no longer be able to use my desktop mail app to retrieve mail, and my calendars and contacts will no longer be in sync with my iPad and iPhone. So when I switch over to iCoud, is there any work-around for this so that I can continue to use the desktop mail app on my iMac or otherwise get mail on my desktop, and keep my mail, calendars and contacts synced between my iMac, iPad and iPhone?
