Software :: Mac/Windows Excel Translation
Aug 21, 2008A problem occurs with MS Excel 2004 charts that are copied from Excel, pasted into MS Word 2004 as a "Picture", then sent to a colleague to open in MS Word for Windows.
The problem is that, on the Windows machine, some of the lines in the text boxes are truncated along the right side. The only workaround I have so far is to give the text boxes an extra wide right margin on the Mac. They will look odd on the Mac, but reasonable on the Windows machine.
Likewise, with legends in Excel charts, I have to stretch the legend box horizontally to ensure that legend text is not truncated when the Excel chart appears in an Office for Windows document.

May 20, 2005My translation widget isn't working. It just says "data unavailable" every time I type something in. Is it working for other people? I'm thinking that maybe the server(s) it uses is down.

Jan 18, 2010I can not seem to sync my mac or enable "back to my mac" because I am being told that "I may have more than one device on my network providing Network Address Translation. Well, this is news to me. I have a Time capsule running my network and an Airport Express with Airtunes dvice and they have been hooked up for more than two years. I have been abloe to sync my network up until recently and I do not recall making any changes to any network configurations so I am clueless as to why things suddenly stopped working in this regard.
THe error message tells me to disable Network Address Translation on one of the devices but does not tell me how to do that. Nor can I find any information related to Network Address Translation on the help database.
Does anyone out there know how to do this?

Nov 10, 2008I want to get a Macbook for my grandmother who only speaks Turkish. Are there Turkish (or other language) translations for Leopard? Is there a third party program that can translate your Leopard interface into different languages?
So far, I've done research and the answer seems to be NO. How does Apple expect to mount a serious challenge to MS and speak only English?

Feb 25, 2009I'm looking for software that will allow me to create a two-language dictionary. It needs to be able to link various ways between words, ie, from one word in language A to several in language B, and back again to a set of words (including the original) in language A. Does that make sense?
So if word K in language A means X, Y and Z in language B, then if I look up word X in language B it will give me K, but also L and M in language A; if I look up Y, it will give me J, K and L; and so on.
Can a regular database program such as FileMaker do this? Or do I need something else?

If i buy the fully version, should i get rid of my pardon, and re-do it with bootcamp, or should i just do it over my current pardon? (Vista) I just want the best way, less pain, less anger. Feb 7, 2009so i have a windows XP professional disk, SP2 and all. i am trying to install windows, i get as far as partitioning the disk, but once it says "please insert XP disk" i do that, and it will think for a few minutes, and make a loud noise [coming from the mac] then a message pops up and says 'please insert installation disk.' the disk is brand new, what am i doing wrong? should i be partitioning the windows side larger?

Jan 27, 2010Im having trouble with VMware.. If I set the wireless network connection to NAT, the internet works, but my xbox 360 wont show up in the media streaming options in windows media player. However, if I change the network settings to bridged, I lose my internet connection (well.. sometimes it works.. 80% of the time it doesnt..) Connecting to bridged is the only way I can connect to my 360, and only some of the time where the internet will work. Is there a way to fix the problem with bridged or NAT so they both work together?

What is odd is if I go to the system preferences startup disk my windows install does not show up. I did move my windows partition a while ago to a new drive. I used bootcamp to create the partition and winclone to move the data. It's not a big deal not having the option in the preference pain but would be nice. If I am in windows and go to the bootcamp control panel both OS X and Windows are there.
