OS X :: Finding Turkish Translation For Leopard?

Nov 10, 2008

I want to get a Macbook for my grandmother who only speaks Turkish. Are there Turkish (or other language) translations for Leopard? Is there a third party program that can translate your Leopard interface into different languages?

So far, I've done research and the answer seems to be NO. How does Apple expect to mount a serious challenge to MS and speak only English?

OS X :: Installing Turkish Language Without Disc?

Jun 10, 2010

I'm in Turkey visiting my wife's grandmother. We intend to leave her the PowerBook 1.67 but the OS is all in English as I didn't install other languages to save space. I also have the habit of running Monolingual to remove any trace of other languages. Of course I don't have the copy of 10.5 with me and OS X is unheard of in the small town we are in. Is there anyway to download the Turkish language extensions/localizations from somewhere.

OS X :: Disabling Network Address Translation

Jan 18, 2010

I can not seem to sync my mac or enable "back to my mac" because I am being told that "I may have more than one device on my network providing Network Address Translation. Well, this is news to me. I have a Time capsule running my network and an Airport Express with Airtunes dvice and they have been hooked up for more than two years. I have been abloe to sync my network up until recently and I do not recall making any changes to any network configurations so I am clueless as to why things suddenly stopped working in this regard.

THe error message tells me to disable Network Address Translation on one of the devices but does not tell me how to do that. Nor can I find any information related to Network Address Translation on the help database.

Does anyone out there know how to do this?

Software :: Mac/Windows Excel Translation

Aug 21, 2008

A problem occurs with MS Excel 2004 charts that are copied from Excel, pasted into MS Word 2004 as a "Picture", then sent to a colleague to open in MS Word for Windows.

The problem is that, on the Windows machine, some of the lines in the text boxes are truncated along the right side. The only workaround I have so far is to give the text boxes an extra wide right margin on the Mac. They will look odd on the Mac, but reasonable on the Windows machine.

Likewise, with legends in Excel charts, I have to stretch the legend box horizontally to ensure that legend text is not truncated when the Excel chart appears in an Office for Windows document.

Software :: Creating Translation Dictionary Software

Feb 25, 2009

I'm looking for software that will allow me to create a two-language dictionary. It needs to be able to link various ways between words, ie, from one word in language A to several in language B, and back again to a set of words (including the original) in language A. Does that make sense?

So if word K in language A means X, Y and Z in language B, then if I look up word X in language B it will give me K, but also L and M in language A; if I look up Y, it will give me J, K and L; and so on.

Can a regular database program such as FileMaker do this? Or do I need something else?

So first I installed Snow Leopard with my orignal 2gb of Ram, and it was fine. Then, I installed the 6gb of Ram and it booted up fine and I checked "About this Mac" and it said "6gb of ddr3 ram" or something like that. So I thought all was well. Hardware :: Finding Bluetooth Printer For Leopard?

Dec 17, 2008

I have a new Macbook Pro with a built in bluetooth transceiver. I want to use it to connect a printer. It is a more difficult technique than it seems.

I have gotten a certain way into the problem. I downloaded and installed a CUPS driver for my HP printer from the linux openprinting site. I tested and proved the driver installation by printing over a USB cable.

I am stalled short of actually printing anything over a bluetooth link. The printer adapter is a Belkin, and the Mac recognizes it, and sees through it to the printer. But it cannot print. (The printer image bounces up and down, and the Mac insists the printer is "off line". In fact the printer is on-line.)

In other words, close, but no cigar.

I am happy to switch adapters if there is one more compatible with the Mac bluetooth.

Apple support does not have a list of printers -- nor can they name any printer or bluetooth printer adapter -- that has been demonstrated to work.

Another option might be to disable the built-in bluetooth and use a dongle instead.

Has anyone been down this bluetooth printer path? I would welcome your insights on which adapter and printer actually worked.

Anyway, now I find myself needing to run a script to tweak over a thousand pictures; I have the exact script needed but no way to use it.

I can't find a download for the actual program, all I get are downloads for scripts for automator; it's really giving me a headache.

I read another thread here from way back in 2005 about finding it on the OS disc, unfortunately I do not have the Leopard disc because my MBP was given to me by my school as part of a technology thing.
