I'm running Windows vista ultimate on my Imac and lately the mouse started acting weird on Vista, it's jumping around and moving unpredictable,and also i use windows in spaces, and i can't switch to spaces anymore until i click control + command, please let me know what the problem is, ohh i'm running a USB G9 Logitech mouse.

When I insert a DVD now, Windows automatically takes control of the drive. The only way for me to view the contents of that drive is to shut down Vista in Parallels and then reinsert the disk. Then OS X sees it and fires it up.
Now Ive plugged in other devices like my external drive, and I get a little pop up which asks which system I want to use the device with. Is there a way to get that for DVDs as well?
I have MacBook Pro 13 and I installed lately windows vista ultimate 32bit with bootcamp 2.1, the issue is the mouse pad is too sensitive and fast, even if I move my finger to drag again on the pad it takes it as a double click!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought a new MBP and install Vista on it. It's horrible, the trackpad is simply not usable, this problem can be solved by using wireless mouse. The audio pops noise every 30 secs, turning wireless off or use Vista Anti Lag will solve it. Now the most annoying part, the computer hard freezes about twice day, this is unacceptable, I have not seen a computer hard freeze for many years. I meant blue screen of death is kinda okay, but my computer just freeze Ctrl Alt Fn Del won't work, tried re installing, no luck. Anyone had their computer crash with the new MBP?
View 24 Replies View RelatedI have a new imac (love it!) and have installed vista on a 32Gb partition using Boot Camp. I was planning on saving files I create in vista on the external Hard drive. But I can't see it when I'm in Vista so can not save files to it. It is a terrabyte disk and is used by Time machine. Is there anyway I can save to it or should I add another external HD just for windows, I can see it when I go to system hard ware (it says seagate HD etc but there is no info on files sizes etc-there is a button which says populate but I dare not press it as I'm scared it will screw up my back ups) Another irritation is that when I reboot back to mac it throws out the internet and I have to reset the modem and router so it works again.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI had a macbook pro with time capsule and was using the TC as a hard drive. Macbook pro logic board has gone so until I can get a new mac, i have a windows vista laptop. I have connected to the TC, wireless working, mapped the TC in the Z:drive. When I go into the TC drive, i can only see the backed up bundled data rather than all the other crap i have saved in there. I think I'm missing a stage somewhere, perhaps need to mount the drive through windows but don't know how. In order to access all the songs etc on the TC via my macbook, I had to 'Enter Time Machine'. Seems like I have to do this through windows but have no clue where to start.
Is there a way for a windows vista machine to access TC hard drive data?
Will I have to perform a reset and configure the TC to the windows machine?
Will a reset erase the hard drive?
Hi everyone, I have a big problem. Today, I noticed that my Macbook Pro was running a bit strangely, with some video being slow and stuff, so I restarted it while it was in Windows Vista through BootCamp. I came back about ten minutes later to see a black screen, and the computer still on. I don't know if it restarted or not. I tried hard resetting it countless times, and messing with the battery like letting it run dry and stuff, but whenever I keep turning it on, I hear the "dong" boot sound, but the screen doesn't turn on, ever.
No I'm wondering if a PRAM zap will help fix the problem, but I really don't want to lose the hard drive and the stuff I have on it. I have a TON of school and work files on there that I simply cannot afford to lose. Will a PRAM zap kill my Windows Vista hard drive or should I even go ahead with it? I really hope that I can fix this problem myself, because the nearest Apple Store (and Geek Squad place that supports Macs) is over 40 miles away, and I really need the stuff for school on Tuesday.

I installed Windows Vista, and Vista boots up fine. However, I hold down the command keys when starting my computer up again, and it won't let me select Mac OS X. It just starts Vista.
On "My Computer" in Vista I see "Bootcamp (C" and "Macintosh HD (E in my Hard Disks Drives. Also, whenever I start up Vista it tells me something about a wrongly formatted drive. My files are still all in the Mactintosh HD drive, but I don't know how to start up Mac OS X.

2.Partition, divide equally(116GB each)
3.Insert Vista disk and start installation
4.Install Vista and insert CD key
5.custom installation
6.Now this is where i stuck
I have 4 options, and i should choose the last one which says bootcamp 116gb, but i cant click it since it says the disk need to have NTFS format. How can i set so that i partiton it to NTFS?
I was able to get Windows Vista 64 running on my 17" MBP, it is pretty slick. I set aside 32 GB for Windows, ran the install, loaded all the appropriate Boot Camp drivers and everything is working perfectly in Windows. I boot back to OS X to attempt to configure Parallels...
So I fired up Parallels and follow the guided instructions. However, when I get to step 2 Im not sure what I should be doing. I already have Windows on its own partition, but Parallels is asking me for a CD/DVD image. Im a little leery of putting the Win disc back in, I dont want Parallels to always want to boot from the disc. how do I tell Parallels to load Windows as a Virtual Machine off of the Boot Camp partition?
The partition Boot Camp created now appears on my Desktop in OS X as Untitled, I can not, for the life of me, figure out how to change that. If I eject that volume will I still be able to Boot to Windows? Will Parallel still work?
I recently installed Windows vista using going through parallels because my bootcamp failed a while ago. This partition also acts as my bootcamp. Well The internet on parallels works fine because it is using osx network, but when i boot into bootcamp the network drivers seem to be missing. I cant figure it out, but it says the ethernet and network drivers are not there. I cant find the drivers on the internet anywhere and when i use the vista disk i have it still does not want to install them.

View 3 Replies View RelatedLast night I installed Windows Vista to run a game on here, but I got several issues. I already installed the drivers from the Snow Leopard DVD, but the problems still persist.
The issues are:
1. Sound is very very low and uneven. I have the volume all the way maxed, but the loudest it can go is less than half than the potential volume in Snow Leopard.
2. Headphones don't work. I've tried like 3 pairs of headphones and none of them work. When I plug them in, the sound still comes from the left speaker (I can barely hear the right speaker) on the laptop and not on the headphones. Also, the headphone jack is emitting a red light out of it.
3. The lights on the keyboard won't shut off. I used the F5 key to turn off the keyboard backlighting, and while it goes very dim they won't shut off.
I already tried the suggestions on this thread but none of those fixes work. I need help! Especially with the sound! Anything at all would be greatly appreciated.
I'm running a MacBook Pro 13" from June 2009, 2.26GHz Intel, 4GB of RAM, and an Nvidia GeForce 9400M. I instlled a 64bit version of Windows Vista (OEM).
I've installed the drivers, and when I start up in Windows, neither the internet or the wireless pick up.
Using Windows Vista Home Premium. The little wireless icon in the tray just has the big X, so it's literally picking up nothing. I also can't connect via ethernet.
I have a macpro with OSX on one drive and windows 7 on a partition of another drive. Both systems work fine and I boot into windows by holding the option key down. What is odd is if I go to the system preferences startup disk my windows install does not show up. I did move my windows partition a while ago to a new drive. I used bootcamp to create the partition and winclone to move the data. It's not a big deal not having the option in the preference pain but would be nice. If I am in windows and go to the bootcamp control panel both OS X and Windows are there.

I don't know how I could use it as my primary partition with this kind of issue, thats why I had to switch back to OS X. A couple other reasons too but we wont get into that right now.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have this issue where whatever version of Windows I try to install when it gets past the initial software load up to the part where it asks what language you want it will just stop and stay there. With Vista it's after the scrolling progress bar, I get the curntains background and that's it. Nothing more. With Windows 7, same thing—after the swirly Windows logo appears and then it should ask what to do, it doesn't show that window. I've tried:
1) Ripping out all my drives, except the one I need.
2) Installing Snow Leopard client and trying BootCamp
3) Change video cards
4) Disconnect peripherals
5) Reset PRAM, SMC, etc.
The know the disks are good since I have tested them, I've tried almost a dozen different copies of Windows from XP to Vista to 7; all with the same result. I can't install at all. It's quite frustrating since Apple has no clue to what's going on, and I can't take this to the Apple Store seeing that I don't have a car.
Is there any way I can switch the functions of these two? I've searched and googled and checked microsoft and to no avail. But I want to copy and paste or undo and things and I press command and the start menu pops up. Not only do I not want that to happen but I'd like the command button to function as the control button.

But i have noticed that after not using the mouse for about 5 seconds, it sort of falls asleep. I have to click the mouse and wait a second for it to be active again.
