At tcpdump I see the "Router Advertisments" but the configd can't answer with "Router Solicitation":

I experience this problem for 2 days now. The wi fi says it is connected and all the bars are full but id doesn't load a single page! Â
The internet i've got is vergin so normally is very fast.Downstairs where we have a desktop computer connected to the D-link is working as normal.Â
When I open the network diagnostics in mac it shows : wi fi is green , wi-fi settings is green, network settings is failed(red), ISP failed(red), Internet failed (red), server failed red.Â

I have a shell script running on a Linux machine to generate multipart mail messages. These display perfectly in Thunderbird (PC or Mac) but the html is missing when I open them in Mac mail. Switch to plain text and they look fine, but the html just doesn't display.
I've tried Snow Leopard and Lion with the same result.Â
I am able to access the computers's web site on a PC on the network but not on one outside of the network. What must I do to view my web site on computers not on the network?

Macbook Pro running Lion V 10.7.4Â .After a hard drive failure this weekend, I restored frm my most recent backup.Unfortunately this did not include svn, host file changes and some other fairly easy to correct things.The one that has been giving me trouble for the last 8 hours is mysql. I have gone through and removed mysql (multiple times) and did fresh installs. Each time I was getting the error:Â

Even after changing my /etc/my.cnf file to point to var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock I would get these errors. Â
Are there multiple locations where mysql points to /tmp/mysql.sock? Â
I am at a loss of what to do. I have uninstalled reeinstalled. Tried many different solutions all to reeive the same error.Â

It will flash the keyboard backlight, but both displays remain black. And when i disconnect the external one, nothing happens. However, when I go to network settings to do so, the option to turn it off is not there. I've included a screenshot to show you what I see when I go to network settings. I am using Macbook Air OS X Lion. I have been facing slow internet browsing problem from quite a while now. I checked the forums and found that lot of people are facing the same problem. Also found that disabling IPv6 or setting it to manual mode will help fixing the issue. But another big challenge is how to do it. I tried setting it to manual which would need router address, IPv6 address and prefix length which is supposed to be collected from your ISP. Unfortunately Comcast hasnt implemented IPv6 yet so couldnt find that information.

I told myself not to do it. Don't update the Safari software to 4.0, you know how they always mess up these things. And yet, per accident I did. Of course Safari 4.0 doesn't work. Every time I open it, it shuts down. iChat also doesn't work anymore, and even the Dashboard shuts down every now and then. In addition, the computer feels incredibly slow. I can't download rapidshare links on iGetter anymore and everything just feels wrong. Countless threads have been opened on this matter with a variety of different problems for different people. Yet I have not read a proper solution. I have seen all kinds of technical solutions being offered but I'm not a computer wiz and I do not know the terms they use. I just want to go back to Safari 3.2 or at least the one before the 4.0 But I read that deleting Safari 4 and reinstalling 3.2 won't work because of a certain webkit that got installed with it, making it impossible to go back.

There are certain services running that were only accessible to the local network, but I now find that if I know the IPv6 address of the machine they are world accessible. I tried limiting services to be only accessible to the local machine, by adjusting the settings in the Firewall configurations in the system preferences, but the services still seem to be world accessible. Do the firewall configurations ignore IPv6? Is there any way to make it so that services are only available to machines in the local networks via IPv6. I suspect I going to need a command line tool or a third-party tool.

I am trying to get an older Macbook Pro running 10.5.1 online and it is not working. I'm currently using 3 other Macs on the WiFi network all running Snow Leopard, so I know that network works. I tried renewing the dhcp lease and I have it set to using dhcp and to configure ipv6 automatically, and there are 2 ip addresses under dns servers (I typed these in because they showed on my other MBP). I can't even upgrade the MBP because I have no ethernet cable and can't plug it in to update it. I can do to get it to work?Â

My airtunes was randomly breaking when trying to stream to my Airport Express and AppleTV. The dreaded (-15000) unknown error message kept appearing. Through searches here and elsewhere, I found a solution that has worked for me. I have turned off IPv6. System Pref >> Network >>Advanced >> TCP/IP >> Configure IPv6: set it to "off". It was on "Automatically" prior to my change. This switch fixed my problem with the airtunes streaming. My question is: Will this prevent me from fully utilizing anything else that my require IPv6? I'm not familiar with what that might be, or why we even need it. From what I've read, it's likely something needed or utilized on a large network, but at home, it seems unnecessary. Am I missing something or will I regret having to turn it off?
