OS X :: Switch To Next / Previous Window

May 11, 2010

me how to switch to next or previous window in a mac? I am using a macbook pro, and before I formatted my laptop, I could switch between two windows by using control + left/right arrow. Whenever I used that command, something like the picture below would appear in the screen, and all the windows moved to the left, or right, and a fresh desktop screen would appear. I could switch the desktops with different set of applications running in both of them.

I searched for it, and according to some wikipedia topic about shortcut keys, control + left/right arrow is only available in leopard. But I could use it in Snow Leopard as well. how to enable the command again.

OS X :: Switch Window To Other Screen?

Oct 13, 2008

My old work PC had an application running which added a small < button to the menu bar next to the restore, min and max buttons which, when clicked would move that window to the adjacent screen.

Is there an app like this for OS X? I'm really looking for something I can evoke with a keyboard shortcut like spaces that simply moves the selected window to the same position on the adjacent screen so i don't have to constantly leave the keyboard to move windows around.

Apr 15, 2012

Sometimes restarting is not enough: you need to power off your Mac, wait for a little, and power it on again. It could be a script which act like the "schedule" program in system preferences: it would switch off the Mac immediately, the add 1 minute to the current time and switch it on again.

Intel Mac :: GRAB A Window So That Entire Length Of The Window Is Included In The Shot?

Jun 28, 2012

I have previously used the GRAB utility to take a snapshot of an open Safari windiw, and the snapshot included the entire windiw contents.  When I opened the snapshot in Preview, I could scroll up and down and view the entire contents of the original Safari windiw. Then, I tried it again a few hours later on a different Safari window, but I then got only the part of the windiw that was visible in the browser at the time that I GRABbed the window (i.e., when I took the snapshot). What do I need to do to get the entire windiw?

OS X :: Get Rid Of Previous Owners Name?

Sep 21, 2010

I bought my MBP 2.8 second hand a few months back. The seller created an account under my name - which all works fine. He also left a bunch of graphics apps that I want to keep ( so I'd rather not re-install OS X ) - when I start the computer I get the log on panel - and just above the name field where you put in your account name, it says " Joe Bloggs Macbook Pro ".

How can I change this so it says my name?

OS X :: Trying To Delete Some Previous Backups?

Sep 22, 2010

My external is getting pretty full and was trying to delete some previous backups. I put them in the trash and each time I try to delete them I get error code 8003. I tried using Trash it! but after 12 hours of letting it run nothing was removed.
Any ideas of how to empty it?

After carelessly playing with terminal (learned my lesson) I just would like to put the back up files back on my external, which says "can't be done since backup items can't be modified"

OS X :: Timemachine - Not Recognizing Previous Backups

Jan 3, 2009

I've been having problems with my backup. The last few times I've tried to backup my computer it's saying that the backup is too large for the backup volume. The reason for this is not because the disk is too small but because it's not recognising that there is already backup-ed info on that disk and not integrating with that. Up to about two weeks ago my computer was backing up grand and in the space of two days it stopped allowing me to back up due to this error. I don't want to delete the old stuff as it kind of defeats the purpose of the backup to do so.

MacBook :: The Newest Version Of XLD Is Better Than The Previous Ones?

And what could be responsible for the sound difference? P.S. X Lossless Decoder also produces results different from iTunes.
