I get the following message when I'm in Safari and select "File>Mail Contents of This Page" or "Mail Link to This Page" even though I have Apples Mail programmed installed and use it all the time as my primary email client. I don't see any preferences in Safari where I have to make a selection for these menus options to work and they have worked in the past. They have just inexplicably stopped working.

when I select the archive button from the tool bar, does mail store the particular email message on my hard drive, or is it stored in a mailbox in the cloud? Does trying to understand actually happens.
I just received an email supposedly from Apple, at least I thought so, that someone had changed my birthdate and security questions in my Apple acct, and they asked me if I didn't so this, to change my password. It looked like an Apple email. SO I clicked thru the email to change m password, got an https:// and entered my user ID and clicked to change my password, They said I would receive a followup email, at my email box, to continue the change. I didn't. I did it at least 4 times and NO email, to date. Then, I went to the Apple website, support, and went to 'change password' directly, and when the page came up the place where I enter my info was FROZEN! I could not enter anything. The whole page was frozen. No matter which way I entered the Apple site, I always ended up at that page, (to enter my user ID, on my way to change my password), and the page was always frozen. Therefore, I cannot get into my acct to change anything.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a MacBook Pro, about two years old, with no probs up until last night when I accepted the latest Apple Update ( itunes, security, etc ). That's when all the problems started. Now I can't get into Mail or Safari, & after getting no response from either, I am having to do a "force quit" to get out of either of the applications. I am getting the same error message each time PubSubAction has quit unexpectedly. Does anyone know what this actually means? I asked the guy at the Apple Shop & he had no idea, & the other people working there had never heard of it either. It just seems very sus that as soon as I downloaded the latest updates these two apps begun having problems. Prior to my updating, I had sent off emails, done the banking online, paid bills & checked my items on eBay. Nothing terribly much & definately didn't accept any files- except the apple updates, when I rebooted, etc. Once the computer rebooted, it now takes between 5 to 10 minutes to start up. Anyway, being that I'm pretty much puter illiterate & a helpless female with these matters as well, just wondering if anyone out there ( female and male ) can offer any suggestions or advice on this problem for me please.

installed Win 7 with no issues except it doesn't recognize the Apple keyboard an wireless mouse. Rebooted in Win 7 and put in OS X disk and reran bootcamp as it said. Still doesn't see them and in Windows, the screen is on full bright and I don't see how to decrease it since the keyboard issue.

In grad school renting a furnished apt for the summer, and trying to hook up HP printer (4215) to my Macbook that runs Lion. I've noticed on the discussions there are weird things that go on with HP and Lion, so I followed the advice of another discussion and downloaded the software/drivers noted for HP from the Apple website (software update did not detect). Â
Now, when I go into system preferences to add the printer, the printer shows up to be added, but forces me to click "add" to add and download the software - which I don't need, having already downloaded it. As other people have mentioned, this results in an error "this software is not currently available?
Is there something stupid I'm missing? It's a USB connection, printer is recognized by the computer, but the automatic software won't download and I'm not sure what to do with the software I DID download to get it to be recognized. Â
When I open apple mail it seems to load fine but now my trash icon for apple mail is gone. Is there any way to get this back?

I was prompted a couple of weeks ago to update flash player, and having done this I am unable to use it at all. In addition my netflix account prompted me to download silverlight (must have been previously present) and since will not play any netflix films at all. Im running an iMac intel on 10.9.4.

I have an early 2011 MacBook Pro running OS Lion (10.7.3) and in the last two weeks I face the following problem with the Mail application and my Yahoo mail account: although the account appears in the side bar of the application and it will search for new messages when I launch the Mail app, it doesn't load any messages and I also realised that all Mailboxes of the named account are blank! The messages appear normally when I reach my account through the Yahoo page! I tried to remove and re-import the account in the Mail app, but it just worked for two days and now the Mailboxes are blank again! I have no problems with the other two mail accounts I reach through the same application (both POP accounts).

I'm having trouble with my Apple Mail program. I have a number of e-mail accounts (some with Optimum online, a g-mail, yahoo, etc.) Apple Mail has no problem at all reading and downloading any mail from any of the services. My problem is with Optimum Mail (Optonline.net). Mail refuses to send anything through that set-up. I've been on the phone for hours with Optimum and the settings are all correct. I've tried connecting directly to the cable modem and mail gets sent. This would make me believe that it is the Apple Airport Extreme router that is at fault. I've tried restarting it, re-initializing it and setting it up again and the problem continues. All my Optimum mail is picked up and can be read but it will not send anything through Optimum. It asks if I want to send it through another server (like g-mail or yahoo) and if I pick yes the mail sends.
It happens on all my computers a G-3 and pre Intel iMac G-5 on Tiger and my Macbook on Leopard.
Anyone else hear of this problem? Both Apple support and Optimum online say they have never heard of it. Talking for hours with their tech departments have found no solutions.
I use gmail and have 288 messages to upload, but it gets stuck at email 20. Have gone to gmail.com to delete # 20 email, but the application is still getting stuck. It's also duplicating messages on Mail application.

Since updating Safari recently to 5.1.5, if I choose the Mail Link to This Page command, instead of opening Mail.app with a new email with the link pasted in, it launches Google Chrome and, in Chrome, goes to the email login page for Google webmail. If I choose the Mail Contents of This Page command, I get an error message stating: "Safari can't create an email message because Google Chrome.app doesn't support sending webpages from Safari. You can use the Mail application included with Mac OS X to send webpages." Safari is set as my default browser. This behavior started immediately after the 5.1.5 update.I use these commands pretty regularly and, through many version of mail.app and Safari, there has never been a glitch. Any ideas, folks? Or is this a bug introduced by 5.1.5 or some other recent Software Update? (Software updates are completely up to date and on 10.7.3.)

I am writing this letter to ask refund that I have paid for the Webster's New Dictionary and Thesaurus. Basically, when I have decided to buy this application, I expect a sound function whenever I have clicked the words, however it did not work. I mean it did not function as I expected! View 2 Replies View RelatedMy husband's computers use Tiger and Leopard (10.5.8) to access his email on the Mail program. His mail is from Comcast and uses the Comcast server, not apple or iCloud. His mail suddenly stopped working a couple of days ago.....as it did on one of my machines that still uses Tiger. He had not done any updates that could have broken the software. He does not have iCloud except on his phone and he doesn't even have a .mac address. There is no reason for the comcast server to not be able to be accessed by Mail app. He did finally update everything that needed it and it still does not work. Why would Apple's change over to iCloud break email access from other servers and how can we fix it. He really doesn't want to do his mail on Comcast's web site as it's slow and awkward.Â

Does anyone know of an easy method to receive a return e-mail receipt using Apple Mail and a .Mac/.Me account. I know that in Windows you can use Outlook to receive/request a return receipt when the receiver opens the e-mail. I believe that even using Microsoft Office Entourage '08 would work as well but I really want to stay all Apple applications if at all possible

I have been using Gmail for about 7 months, now. I am using it in conjunction with a MacBook Pro (15 inch, mid-2010, i5, 2.53 GHz, running OS 10.7.4 and the current version of Mail) and an iPhone 4S (iOS 5.1.1 with the pre-installed Mail app). I, rarely, use Gmail's web interface and prefer to view and manage my mail using my devices.
I, recently, discovered a Gmail behavior that I wasn't aware of. Whenever I deleted an email from my Inbox on my MacBook, it wouldn't, actually, delete from Gmail. Instead, a copy of the mail would remain in Gmail's "All Mail" folder. It seems that Gmail and I have different ideas about deleting. When I delete, it means that I would, actually, like to get rid of it, not hide it somewhere else. After sorting through the, almost, 3000 emails in the "All Mail" folder and re-deleting everything that I thought I had already deleted (a pain, to be sure), I found the solution to my problem.In Apple Mail, I checked both Trash options in my account preferences then selected Gmail's "Trash" folder and used the "Use This Mailbox For" option to map it to Mail's trash (similarly, I mapped the trash folder on my iPhone to Gmail's trash folder). Now, everything I delete is going to the same place (and actually getting deleted).
