OS X :: Run Browser Window Maximized?

Jun 16, 2009

I'm just wondering how many of you like to run your browser windows fully maximized to take the whole screen or have them just a bit big enough. I used always like having my current app always fully maximized but now that I'm using a Mac and OSX I size them down, which feels and looks really cool.

OS X :: Capture Maximized Window With Shadow?

Mar 18, 2010

I came across some strange Grab behavior today while trying to capture a maximized window using the shortcut key for a window grab.

While having the window I wanted to grab active, I pressed Cmd + Shift + 4 to get the box selection grab, then pressed Space to get the Window capture tool. I clicked the active window and this is what came out:

As you can see, the right side of the window is missing..

Can someone reproduce this? Or is it just on my end?

This is really frustrating since I hate Firefox (Way slower than safari has ever been for me) and now I can't even use Safari.

OS X :: Any Way To Set Dock Hiding When Windows Maximized?

Jul 13, 2010

I just switched to my first Mac. A MacBook Pro 13" base model. Right now I have the dock on the bottom of the screen and set to hide unless I mouse around the bottom of the screen. I like this so that I can have Firefox maximized to take up the whole screen. However, I would like to show the dock on the desktop when I don't have any windows maximized. Is there a way to set the dock to automatically hide when windows are maximized on the screen and then have the dock automatically show when there are no windows open or maximized?

Intel Mac :: GRAB A Window So That Entire Length Of The Window Is Included In The Shot?

Jun 28, 2012

I have previously used the GRAB utility to take a snapshot of an open Safari windiw, and the snapshot included the entire windiw contents.  When I opened the snapshot in Preview, I could scroll up and down and view the entire contents of the original Safari windiw. Then, I tried it again a few hours later on a different Safari window, but I then got only the part of the windiw that was visible in the browser at the time that I GRABbed the window (i.e., when I took the snapshot). What do I need to do to get the entire windiw?

Software :: Best Browser For 10.5.5

Dec 14, 2008

I have an iMac running OS X 10.5.5 and recently signed up for ATT DSL. Part of the installation is having the ATT Yahoo home page. It seems ATT email uses different versions of their email depending on what browser launches the email app. I know this because we also have an iBook running OS X 10.4.11 and the latest Safari for Tiger as well as Camino and depending on which browser we are using we get a different looking page. The one presented to Safari on 10.4.11 looks to be an older version with less functionality. So, my question - any experience with Camino running under 10.5.5? Any reason not to? Any suggestions for other browsers?

OS X :: Why Is Firefox The Only Browser That Works

Aug 29, 2010

I recently arrived at college and when you join the wifi network (and through ethernet) you have to register your computer. I did this at orientation and everything worked fine. Once I got here I had to reregister (maybe they reset something in the system, so I don't think its a big deal but youre supposed to only have to register every 12 months).

I believe what happened is I opened Safari and I registered over Wifi and ethernet. And then nothing would load while I was on wifi, but Skype would work (but I've noticed that the Pandora One app won't load, but I'm not going to worry about that, at least for now. I can use the website).

So after like an hour chatting with tech support, resetting Safari, restarting, trying Chrome, I go in to the library where tech support is.
