OS X :: Poll/Favorite Aqua Wallpaper?
Jan 5, 2011What version of OSX had your favorite aqua wallpaper
View 1 RepliesWhat version of OSX had your favorite aqua wallpaper
View 1 RepliesI'm not sure why but whenever I go onto the internet, my wallpaper disappears and it turns blue. If I want to restore it I have to click on a different wallpaper in system preferences then click back to the one I want. Any ideas?

Now I am curious. Does this product have major issues in the Macbook, or do the problems described in the OCZ forum represent a small percentage of Mac users? Let's see what the numbers are for users in this forum.
C'mon Apple... I know you don't like copying Microsoft and I don't either... but you gotta lose the green + toggle for windows and add a fit to screen button. This is no longer funny. Your only excuse is if there is a copyright, TM or patent issue, but somehow I think it's pure stubborness and you think the green toggle is useful. For those of you who have never owned or used a PC, this poll is not for you. For people who have used both, how many of you would like to see a "Fit To Screen" toggle button instead of a green + for OS windows?

Which one do you use and why?

It boots to BSD (Command Line Interface) instead of OS X (GUI Aqua)

Please note that the screen on the PowerBook is broke so I can only use it connected to an external monitor
When I try to reinstall the system, the picture does not get pushed across to the external monitor meaning I can not see what I am doing and thus can not reinstall
Ok so today I was on my computer and I noticed on my Xchat Aqua IRC client I kept disconnecting on one of the servers I was on. I checked my internet thinking it was my ISP dropping and it was running fine. I checked my computer and it was ok because I had AIM msn and all that running. So i get on my other computer and use a browser based IRC client to see if it does it there and when my xchat disconnected I didnt disconnect on the browser. I then noticed.. there was a $%&%$# who must have found an exploit threw DCC for xchat because he was typeing things like "DCC send tralala 0 0 0" and I would disconnect.
So my question is did anyone know about this or know how to fix it? because its really annoying and I cant find anything to stop him.
I was wondering if it's possible to install Leopard without any of the OS X UI, simply the terminal? I know this may seem really useless but I have my iBook G4 that's been completely useless for the past year and I thought I'd try to do something with it... maybe use it to stream music or something.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am in the process of researching HD replacements for my 250Gb in my 13" uMBP as I would like to have more room for stuff. After searching threads here about replacements, it seems some people are having stalling and beachball issues with their replacement HDs in their uMBPs.
So here is my poll:
1. Have you replaced the HD in a uMBP (with motion sensor) with no ill effects?
2. If so, what brand and size HD? and....
3. What model uMBP
I see that a few people have an issue with the unibody 13" MBP making a "clicking" noise when the lid is opened. The issue varies from a mild click to a loud click. Usually, once the click occurs, it does not repeat itself until after sometime. This poll is to help determine whether or not it's worth it to get this issue fixed by Apple, specifically if the clicking is not bothersome (read: not too loud).

I've long used Max Rudberg's Aqua Extreme scrollbars and progress bars in Jaguar, Panther, Tiger and Leopard and now I have them working perfectly in Snow Leopard!
All you need is your custom Extras.rsrc and Extras2.rsrc files from your Leopard backup (you made a backup right?) and copy the files to:
Code:
/System/Library/Frameworks/Carbon.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/HIToolbox.framework/Versions/A/Resources/
At first I didn't think this worked because in Leopard, in order to see the new theme changes, you only had to re-launch an app, but it Snow Leopard you have to do a full log out and log back in
got back from vacation and was moving pics around iPhoto. Couldn't seem to make a copy to a flash drive so I deleted the pics and figured I'd start again.
1/2 of the pics were already off my digital camera !!!
OK....breath....now the last nice pic from the 50% of my family vacation is on my wallpaper. OK....how do I save my wallpaper to a new image ?
In other words, the image should no longer exist because I deleted it....but its on my desktop wallpaper....I need that image !!!! Any way I can save it ????
What are your most favorite shortcuts on OSX? Know of any that none of us do? I would like to learn some hidden fancy tricks!

I noticed that in Safari (5.1.7) (I'm guessing thats the latest) there are icons for your favorites. Most people said they have them on all of their book marks, but I only have them in bookmark folders. I've tried what I can find on the web to get rid of them, with no working way.
Info:Safari , Mac OS X (10.7.4)
Command -drag to trash worked in earlier OS X versions but in this case the item (a folder) just pops back into the list.

I asked earlier how to remove the favorites bar from my iMac. Had a single reply which went on about Safari 10. ?. Ive checked my computer and it says I'm on Maverick 7.0.6 so the response means nothing to me.
View 5 Replies View RelatedChoice is good, I chose Apple for their reliable and stable computers and have done so ever since they have had them. So post your favorite add-ons and even themes, or even mention one's you were not happy with. There are thousands of them. So it would be good to have a idea what other Mac users have found to be very useful. Perhaps Apple will adopt a few of those features for future Safari versions. (disclaimer: no connection to any browser maker or any of the plug-ins I mention) Firefox: SmoothWheel - what this does is makes scrolling very smooth and slick. Split Browser - allows one to split the window into many configurations, mainly to compare two sites without having to open another window. NoSquint - remembers the zoom level of sites that you set FastestFox - does a lot of things, but my favorite is how it pages all of Google's search results on one page, so one can just keep on scrolling...and scrolling...FlagFox - displays the country flag of the IP of the website where it's hosted in the URL field. So if you think your visiting a .ru (Russia) site it might be hosted the UK or US for example. Morning Coffee - one click loads the sites you want everyday or by the day. WOT - Web of Trust - a rating of sites and links in web email based upon a color code, green is good, red is bad and all types in between.........
