MacBook Pro :: Links For Downloading Favorite Screensaver
Nov 13, 2010
I'm getting bored of the default apple screensavers so I was wondering which screensavers others use. If you wish to cooperate, please leave a link to the download of your screensaver.

I noticed that in Safari (5.1.7) (I'm guessing thats the latest) there are icons for your favorites. Most people said they have them on all of their book marks, but I only have them in bookmark folders. I've tried what I can find on the web to get rid of them, with no working way.

Choice is good, I chose Apple for their reliable and stable computers and have done so ever since they have had them. So post your favorite add-ons and even themes, or even mention one's you were not happy with. There are thousands of them. So it would be good to have a idea what other Mac users have found to be very useful. Perhaps Apple will adopt a few of those features for future Safari versions. (disclaimer: no connection to any browser maker or any of the plug-ins I mention) Firefox: SmoothWheel - what this does is makes scrolling very smooth and slick. Split Browser - allows one to split the window into many configurations, mainly to compare two sites without having to open another window. NoSquint - remembers the zoom level of sites that you set FastestFox - does a lot of things, but my favorite is how it pages all of Google's search results on one page, so one can just keep on scrolling...and scrolling...FlagFox - displays the country flag of the IP of the website where it's hosted in the URL field. So if you think your visiting a .ru (Russia) site it might be hosted the UK or US for example. Morning Coffee - one click loads the sites you want everyday or by the day. WOT - Web of Trust - a rating of sites and links in web email based upon a color code, green is good, red is bad and all types in between.........

Is it possible to keep a folder from a network as a favorite in the Finder Sidebar, even after the networked computer has been restarted? In the course of the week, the folders I place in my favorites remain (we keep our computers on all week), but we shut down on the weekends, so come Monday morning, all of the networked folders are absent from the sidebar. I'm attempting a work-around by creating folders in my user/Home that then have aliases of the respective folders, then placing that in the sidebar, but I'd love to avoid this work-around.Â
I'm on a 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5 iMac, but the computer I'm trying to remain linked/favorited to is a 2.8 GHz Quad Core tower (both running Yosemite).

I recall that, in Leopard, you could use TinkerTool in order to set a screensaver as your wallpaper. In Snow Leopard, however, it seems as if that option has disappeared. I have tried to use Wallsaver, but moving windows around or doing something dynamic on your computer causes the screensaver to flash or distort. Does anyone know of a good way to set a screensaver as your background without any interruptions? I don't care if the utility or application allows you to select a different screensaver than the one in System Preferences.

My screensaver keeps turning on very quickly, even when I'm in the middle of using it. I can be typing a sentence in Word and it'll try to go to the screensaver. The screen will go black, but as soon as I type something it goes back to a regular screen. The preferences have the screensaver coming on after 15 minutes. I don't understand what's going on. The only thing I can think of is that I recently installed Air Display which is used to make my ipad an extra monitor, but turning the application off doesn't solve the problem. Also, there's nothing in the preferences for the application about screensavers.

I have made multiple attempts at installing third party screensavers. They install just fine. The problem is that when I go to system and prefrences/ screensavers, I can't find them. I can find them in finder, and click "open with system and preferences", and system and preferences will open, but won't list my screensaver. They are .saver files and are for mac os x.
