Aloha, I just downloaded a game, and it's extension is .toast.sit ? What am I supposed to do with that?
I've been burning DVDs and I've noticed Toast needs to encode the movie before it burns it. What exactly is encoding? Is it converting? Also, what format does Toast use to burn DVDs?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have crossover games. I am trying to install 'The Movies' by lion head games. When I select a new bottle, and make it a winxp type, I get the error message that says, "Exception EAccessViolation in module TheMovies at 00000000 Access violation at address 00000000 in module 'TheMovies.exe' Write of address 00000000" Does anyone know what I can do to get this game to install? Or is it simply never going to work?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am operating an iMac with OS X 10.9.4. I have a glitch common to other Mac users in the game "War Thunder" as a result of a game update. The game maker has suggested a fix which requires going into the game folders and deleting the cache:
One potential fix for this issue is to clear (delete all files) from the following folder /Applications/ WarThunder Launcher.app/ Contents/ WarThunder. app/Contents/Resources/ game/cache"
However, when I go into finder the War Thunder launcher contents folder shows only the folders MacOS and Resources. Each contains one file. It does not show up in the Application Support folder even though the following string from the log suggests that the folders and files are all there; " 9.37 [D] skipping identical / users/davidmcleod/library/application support/steam/steamapps/common/war thunder/warthunderlauncher.app/ contents/ warthunder.app/contents/ resources/game/ content/pkg_tanks/res/pkg_tanks_tanks/ "
why I can't see the full list of folders or why they aren't actually there despite being able to play the game up until the glitch?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI would like to either install Windows on another partition on my 256GB SSD on the new rMBP and run games off an external, or install Windows on an external and games as well. What would be the most efficient (price wise) way to do this without having to sacrifice speed? I was thinking I could use an external thunderbolt hard drive, but it seems like they are all over $300 and over 1TB. I would only really need around 500GB with preferably 7200RPM speeds. Would USB 3.0 be fast enough or would I need to use thunderbolt? I prefer not to have to install 30GB games on the Windows partition on a small 256GB SSD, though I guess I could uninstall and reinstall them as I need (but does this wear down the SSD write speeds over time?) I couldn't get myself to pay another $600 to get a 512GB SSD logic board on the rMBP.

So i click SETUP.EXE nothing happens.

I was just wondering if 256 GB is enough to divide Windows 8.1 and OS X equally? I will install some games too like: Arma 3, Garrys Mod (to escape the memory leaks of the Mac port), Train Simulator 2014 and Kerbal space Program. And probably Chrome, Malwarebytes and Avast(necessary?). If it matters my specs are: MacBook Air 13 inch mid 2013 along with: The i7, 8 GB RAM, 256 GB flash storage. Im thinking to upgrade to the rMBP later this year if Apple get their hands on Broadwell and maybe a GTX 850 or better?

I have a MacBook and just upgraded my OS couple of days ago from 10.4 to Snow Leopard 10.6.1. Well actually my husband did it for me (Im not great with the technical stuff lol) and tells me it wasn't a clean install but that Apple didn't state this was necessary. Anyway everything seemed fine until I tried to access any of the online games I play from time to time on FaceBook. I don't know if any of you are familiar with the apps I'm talking about but basically you have 'neighbours' and can gift items back and forth, well all my neighbours in all games have disappeared and I have disappeared off their lists too. I found out that Adobe had vanished during the upgrade so I have now installed the latest version of that but although this enabled me to see one of the games I still don't exist on them!! The other games just wont even load - all very strange. Why should a change of OS effect online games anyway? I'm hoping that someone can tell me what I should do about this.....I know that Facebook games aren't particularly crucial but it's frustrating me not knowing why this has happened.

I first used the convert option on roxio toast and this procedure took almost 2 hours. Then out of curiosity i did the same thing on handbrake. Handbrake only took 15 minutes. Also the quality from the handbrake app looks a whole lot better. So i guess my question is why is handbrake so much better with a free app?

View 3 Replies View RelatedIn preparation for my move to Mac I am looking at purchasing Toast 10.
Excuse my ignorance but what will purchasing Toast 10 give me over the included iDVD and any other utilities that come with an iMac.My iMac has not arrived,
I just purchased Toast 10 Titanium Pro with the hopes of being able to burn blu-ray DVDs using my MBP which I purchased last December (2008) with a CD/DVD burner: MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-868.
Do I need to purchase a special blu-ray drive (internal or external) to do this? I was told by my Apple rep that my dvd burner was fine and that I needed to use Final Cut Pro. I read that Toast 10 Titanium Pro was also compatible to make blu-ray DVDs.
when I go the DVD-Video section I put all the videos I wanted in and the chapters/Menu I wanted etc.
Then it said that I had a mixture of both PAL and NTSC (or however you spell it) which I already knew and was fine with because I wanted to test out what my PS3 could read and could not between files of .mkv, .avi, and .mp4 (ironically it play/read everything but the .mp4).
i have the following question: i installed windows 7 on my mbp but i have problems with a lot of games that i want to install, so i think that i have to update my drivers. if i install the drivers from the nvidia site for windows 7, will they mess up my nvidia drivers on my osx part of my mbp?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI ran a search and the only program I came up with is Toast 10.
I'm really frustrated of all the crap free DVD ripping programs so I've decided to buy one. Handbrake will only rip certain region ones, MacTheRipper gives me this DUMMY VOB warning and I'm just wasting my time. I don't think any of the free ones will actually be good because the movie industry is trying to make everything so hard. I guess the paid ones will be better since they probably have a special way of working around the DVD. So yes finally. I just can't be bothered anymore. I'll buy one. Conditions:
1) Ones that can rip the EXTRAS & BONUS FEATURES (like bloopers and DIRECTOR'S COMMENTARY) of the DVD as well as the movie itself
2) Good quality
3) Good price (not too over-priced)
4) Converter so that I can put it on my iPod but I want other formats. Avi and stuff like that, ones that I actually need. Unlike WAV or OGG or other ones that I haven't even heard of.
I've heard of one called Aisesoft? And also Toast 10?
