I keep reading that this is necessary in Mavericks Applemail, but is it? The All Mail folder in gmail has nearly 90K messages and takes an age to load, impeding the rapid update of the current inbox.Â
How things can function with the show "All Mail" in IMAP turned off from the gmail side? Running both in Maverick and Yosem B2 ....

The Mac OS X 10.4.11 Server running on Xserve, everything is find, for the webmail, there is an issue how to enable https instead of http e.g. [URL], but normal web page keep running on port 80. There is some settings for us to enable SSL for "Web" items on Server Admin, but if we enabled it, the port for the home page becomes 443 instead of 80, what we need to setup as below: [URL]
I'm running an experiment that will give me a spreadsheet in Excel with 20 participants names, addresses, email addresses, and profits (from the experiment). My goal is to take this data and create individual receipts in Word that have all the above information and can be printed out and handed to the individuals (20 receipts). I have access to Office 2004 (Mac) or 2007 (Windows).
My mother just got an iMac 27". It is running at 2560x1440. However, at this resolution even on the big monitor the menu bars are quite as is the font on the menus. In windows which she used to use and which I use, there's a "Large Fonts" feature which increases the size of the font on menu bars, and the button on the window manager.Â
However, I can't seem to find this feature on the mac. I increased the cursor size. I increased the default size of window content in safari etc. And can incr. the size of the dock. But no where can I find a "large font" feature. I can drop the resolution, but this is obviously a bad solution as this just makes everything fuzzy and ugly. Is there any way to preserve resolution and incr. menubar sizes/font sizes? The zoom feature is does not have acceptable behavior to conveniently incr. menu size (most of the time it zooms the menus right out of the frame, and the PIP mode is also poor) Â
I've lost the drop down tool bar at the top of my screen. (Lowers when you position the mouse arrow at the top of the screen).I'd like to know how to get it back! (Re-Enable it).

I recently purchased an Epson WF 3520 printer that prints 2 sided. My Mac Maverick with all updates shows that 2 sided is turned off but I have not found how to turn it on.
I have 4 accounts set up in Mail.app... Yahoo, GMail, Hotmail and iCloud. I want to enable push on them just like I did on my iPhone 4. I did gmail push on iPhone using the gmail exchange server. But its not known to work on the mac. So I tried instructions here and that magically worked for gmail but icloud and yahoo failed to get the email pushed.

I just switched from Snow leopard to Lion and i don't like the way that Lion has the mail preview set up as a 3 column vertical format. I thought in Snow Leopard you could change the set-up so it's either horizontal or vertical, but I can't seem to find that option in Lion. I want to have the list of my email messages in the top, horizontal window and the preview of the selected message in a horizontal window below. Am I missing this option to change the view format from vertical to horizontal somewhere?
I need to copy a set of email addresses and paste them into a spreadsheet for uploading. Using Mail's copy function I get the result "mailto: (address)". If I just copy that as an address Mail doesn't recognize it as a valid address. Is there a way around this?
I Have two Microsoft exchange mail one mail works properly, but the other has developed problem from past one week. Mails are automatically getting deleted every day, sometimes every few minutes. I have to restart the computer to again download the mails. The mails only get deleted from my computer and not the exchange. Also, would like to inform my MAC pro book got infected with Trojan.gen.2 virus. Which I discovered with Nortons antivirus software. I installed this software as I doubted if my mails are getting deleted owing some virus. Although my MAC is free of virus, the issue with one exchange mail remains and emails still gets deleted.

How may I create Distribution lists for mail. I need to set up a series of groups with a number of mail addresses, I don't want to input every mail address every time I send a mail!

Seems when Apple Mail checks for new mail (Mail provider is Google), it does show up in the All Mail folder that Google provides, but the new messages are not showing up in the Apple Mail inbox.
When I check this in the Google mail web client, mail appears as normal. Â
I'm missing messages, so this is something I'd like to figure out what's going on. Â

I have been using Mail on the Mac for 3 years now and it's mostly worked great. Now it does not synch properly. I can see new emails on the web version of gmail, but they never show up in Mail.
Ok, I have a MBP 13" 2.53GHz and a new model Mac Mini 2.4GHz. I use both about 50% of the time. I have 2x2gb and 2x1gb sticks of ram and I am trying to find out what would give me the best bang, if it would be putting 3gb in each or 2 in one mac and 4 in the other.
My every day use is as follows (about even amount use on both macs with all apps): Final cut pro safari, mail, skype (at the same time mostly) World of warcraft, Ventrilo, iTunes (also at the same time)
Is there a way to have TV Shows and Movies located on an Airport Extreme external hard drive and music on my internal drive but it still all be in one iTunes library?
What I have been trying to do is transfer a .mkv video file which is 4.37 GB in size from a hard drive which is format NAT32 to one that is FAT32. So what I am wanting to do is split the video file in 2 so that I can transfer it to the FAT32 because I dont mind watching 1 part then the other.
So is there any application out there which will allow me to do this?
I scanned a book a while back to a PDF file. I would like to split the PDF pages in half so that each paper page is on an individual PDF page. The only way I can see to do this is to duplicate the file and crop one copy to the left page and the other to the right. Of course, combining the files would be a tedious process.
Is there an easier way? I have Preview 4, Acrobat 8 and PDF Pen.
From a nonprofit that I help, I get a PDF each week that is 10 pages long. I would like to split that automatically into 10 separate pages for filing and posting reasons. Is there an easier way to do that then opening up the file, extracting a single page, saving that page, then repeating 9 times?
I have a huge dmg file of an application, that is 7 GB large. My disk burner is not letting my burn dual yer DVD's, so is it possible to split the file onto 2 DVD's ?
If so, how would you recompile them to load onto another Mac ??
I need a way to split a folder of about 82 GB into segments of about 3.5 GBMost of the files are bigger than 3.5 GB so rearrange files into several folders is not an option
