I have 4 accounts set up in Mail.app... Yahoo, GMail, Hotmail and iCloud. I want to enable push on them just like I did on my iPhone 4. I did gmail push on iPhone using the gmail exchange server. But its not known to work on the mac. So I tried instructions here and that magically worked for gmail but icloud and yahoo failed to get the email pushed.

I have a mac mini running lion server.I have a couple of mac clients (notebooks). I have to enable mobile accounts so notebooks will work when traveling.However, I want family to logged into server as well. I am still in testing, and I think I have client side working ok (sync on demand, sync logging in and out)However, when user now logs directly into server (or anything else that would cause a sync, manual sync or logging off), it causes errors. It appears it isn't smart enough to know it is trying to sync back to itself.Â

Does anyonme know if when you have multiple mac products (i.e. I have an iPad, iPhone, Macbook and an iMac) and you have the same mail accounts set up on all of them if can set it that when you read an eamil on one device it appears as read on all the other devices? I am getting a warning on opening my mac saying I need more space as my setup disk is full. I have emptied many files as well as my Trash. I am planning to get an external drive for my photos, but it has been suggested that I check Console and under the system log the following message (of which they say 4000 messages have been logged in 2 days) '06/06/2014 16:08:23.341 com.apple.dynamic_pager: dynamic_pager: Need more space on the disk to enable swapping'. This is a copy of one of the items. It is from the system log. I really do not think I have enough files to warrant this warning, with the exception of photos. My storage shows 143 MB free out of 120.47.

Using Macbook Air, get low battery warning. Finish what I'm doing, close screen at 0:00 remaining time. Apparently it didn't sleep in time before battery drained completely, since when opening after plugging a minute or two thereafter it went into cold restart. (Btw, I've had the machine just shut down instead of going into deep sleep on low battery a few times before, would like to fix this too...)
All my programs reopened, except Mail loaded the "Welcome to Mail" splash screen, with my name and one of my email addresses autofilled, but none of my regular accounts. I canceled and it closed. Repaired permissions, verified disk, no problems. After searching the forums, turned invisible files on, fired up my Time Machine backup, and restored a recent pre-crash version of Mail preferences plist in user/Library/Preferences. Start up Mail again: same "Welcome to Mail" splash screen.
Called Apple Care, they wanted me to do a full restore from Time Machine backup. But my backup is a week old and I will lose data not covered in the meantime--I still want to find a way to get Mail back working without doing this. The only other suggestion was clear caches, restart, try again. I fired up Onyx, executed maintenance scripts, rebuilt Mail's envelope index, cleared system and user caches, and still no dice. Â
how to get Mail to recognize my old preferences plist instead of heading straight to the splash screen? To restore to all my email again without a full restore from week old back up?

My issue was that my wife and I both have separate Gmail accounts, but when she would use the Mac Mail program on our MBP, when she would send emails, it showed her name, but came from my Gmail account, and when people would respond to her emails, they would come to my email address. The issue is that according to MacMail, you are using the same outgoing Gmail smtp server, so you need to differentiate the two.
Go to Mail > Preferences
In your accounts, click the drop down that has Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP), and click "Edit SMTP Server List...". When that window comes up, you'll see two different entries for Gmail, with the same outbound SMTP. Click on them individually, and you'll see the different Gmail account credentials.
Change the description of each (I changed mine to my and my wife's names, to easily identify which SMTP went with which mail account) and ensure that your Gmail credentials are accurate. Click Ok. Now, under each of the Gmail accounts, change the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) drop down to match each of your Gmail accounts, and click the "Use only this server" box.

I have three e-mail accounts. They duly appear in the Mail sidebar. I have dragged them into the order in which I want them, with the one I almost always use at the top and my college one (which I prefer only to use for college business) at the bottom. But quite often they — spontaneously, it seems — move around and put themselves into an order that I do not like, with the result that I accidentally send messages from the wrong e-mail address. Why do they do this, and how can I stop them and fix them in place?

This is my first post as the soon to be proud owner of a 2010 13" MBP. I'm looking to copy all tunes/photos/settings from my 2006 mini and of course I've got questions:
1- Anyone do a new setup via wireless? I'm going to use a Linksys wireless N and was curious on a time estimate (I know its gonna be slow...).
2- The mini has all settings under my wife's user account...if I just transfer everything as is then I'll end up with my new MBP info being under her name as well. How can I get the files and settings that are under her name to show up under mine on the new MBP?

I have Snow Leopard's Mail App configured with my university's Exchange 2007 server. My iPhone gets mail pushed the second it is received, but it may take my Mail app on Snow Leopard several minutes to receive pushed mail unless I manually hit Get Mail. I plan to use the standard one for me as my main account but when installing apps and the like plan to switch to the admin one. What I was wondering is, as far as a I can tell from apple is that if I put music on my standard account my brother would not be able to see the music files, the same for pictures and movies. I would like to be able to share the music files and some pictures across both of our accounts. Would putting the music in itunes from the admin account make this possible and what about pictures? I would also like to keep some pictures private, as would he.

I am setting up a Lion Server which allows users to enroll their ipad, and want to send out push notification.
After I got a SSL cert, enroll the ipad.However, I could not see any way to push my notification to application in my ipad. So here is my question:Â
1. Does the APNs set up in the Lion Server Connecting to the gateway.apple.com:2195 or directly connect to the ipad? Because my target environment will be a private network.Â
