Dec 24, 2009I need a way to split a folder of about 82 GB into segments of about 3.5 GBMost of the files are bigger than 3.5 GB so rearrange files into several folders is not an option

Feb 27, 2009I want to split my home folders across 2 servers to take the load off the open directory master. The user accounts are in AD but home folders are on the osx dir master server. does anyone know what is the best way to migrate some of the home folders to the our new replica osx server?

I have two Music folders within the same path.....A lot of my CD's now mysteriously have music split between two folders e.g. a single CD has Tracks 1,2,3 in one Music folder and track 4,5,6,7 is split in the other Music folder.....the same Album name exists in both locations but tracks are split between.  iTunes / Preferences / Advanced - "Media Folder Location" = /Volumes/Safe/160GB iTunes Folder/iTunes/Music/One level below this iTunes Media Folder Location structure there is another Music folder = /Volumes/Safe/160GB iTunes Folder/iTunes/Music/Music          *** I can only play songs using iTunes that point to this Red music folder location ***Â
I have the following checked ( enabled ) :Â "Keep iTunes Media folder organised""Copy files to iTunes media folder when adding to Library"Â
I have ran from "File" / "Library" / "Organize Library" Menu the :Â "Consolidate files"Â "Reorganise files in the music folder" can't be run as it's greyed outÂ
how do I merge back CD Tracks that have been split across these folders ? Â

OS X :: How To Join Two Documents Together
Jul 1, 2009My mother had a bunch of old family documents (some dating back to 1859) that I wanted to scan in when I visited her last time. The scanner she had was not a scanner that was long enough for legal size documents so I had to scan the top and then scan the bottom of the document. They were placed into two separate files. My question is how can I join the two documents together? I know that I can use preview to combine the two separate files into one but I have a need to "attach" the second document to the end of the first one so that it appears that they were originally scanned as one document? Is this possible? Am I looking at an expensive software purchase?

My iPhone will then, without any further input, connect to my wifi.So why does my �1600 MacBook Pro need me to reselect it from my wifi list? Why can't it just see it and connect to it?!

Jul 23, 2009I am trying to make a single partition with Mac OS Journaled but Disk Utility won't let me. I currently have 2 partitions: MacHD with 80Gb and partition B with 3,35Gb (Partition where I used to have XP with BootCamp). I finished with XP and erased that partition to become Mac OS Journaled. Now I try to have a single partition but I couldn't. On the Partition tab of Disk Utility, when I select the whole machine (FUJISTSU MHW2120BH) the option Partition is dimmed and won't work.
I also tried iPartition, but it tells me: To make changes to this disk you should either boot from an external drive, use Target Disk Mode with another Mac, or create a bootable CD/DVD. You can create a bootable CD/DVD by running Coriolis CDMaker, which should be available from you distributor. I thought my instalation DVDs would work as bootable, but: I tried with the Tiger instalation DVDs but it makes me chose one of the partitions to format and won't let me do both at once.

My latop will now not connect to ANY wifi networks. It's sees the networks but when I try to manually join one it says "The wifi network ... could not be joined" when I then run diagnostics it says "Wifi not associated" and "review wifi best practices".

Jul 20, 2009I updated 1 of 3 expresses to 7.4.2. Using it to stream music with Airfoil suddenly stopped. Got it put back to 7.4.1 but it will still not join the network other than when it is connected via ethernet cable. Two other expresses work. Been to genius bar. This is doing my head in. Had wonderful full house steaming sound with iTunes or Airfoil. Have tried everything i can think of.
Has anybody else had this problem.
Is there a solution. I have reset it several times both hard and soft resets.

Nov 18, 2008It's the strangest thing, my wife's MBA (v1) will randomly refuse to connect to our home wifi network (cast by a 500GB Time Capsule). What seems to be happening is that it will connect then disconnect at bootup, it will say no preferred networks are available (when the home network has been configured!) and refuse to assign an IP address to the MBA. If I manually select the home network from the wifi icon, it will diplay security password, and then say this is invalid (when it is perfectly valid and the one used by my own MBP and iPhone)... this seems to happen only on our home network, any other works fine...My own MBP is fine. This is driving me crazy and I haven't found anything on the web on this.

It says that none of my preferred network is in range, and only shows my router after I "refresh" the list by clicking on the airport icon. My UMBP connect to my network fine. So, is it possible for me to hook my cable modem up to the Airport Extreme via ethernet, and then somehow connect my Airport Express router to that to get out to the net?
