View 2 RepliesWhen I open some, maybe a tenth of my incoming emails, they open in window much wider than my display, like twice display width. Probably happens on mail sent from Windows machines. No other time, in no other application, does anything display beyond normal screen width.
I have to scroll WAY OUT right to for example get to the reply button.
In Firefox or Chrome. My normal email is gmail. This is not in Apple Mail. This happens in Firefox or Chrome receiving in gmail.

I recently got a new iMac and restored it using a Time Machine drive to be identical to my old one. This has all gone pretty smoothly, but for some reason mail says that one of my accounts has five new e-mails, and another one has two. When I receive new e-mails these increment, and when I delete them they decrement, but they only ever go down to five and two.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI realize this is probably not related to a iMAC alone but that is what I have and am experiencing problems using my email. After installing Safari 4 I began to have problems. I attempted to use my email and was prompted to provide my password. This is very unusual because I have not had to do that since I got the machine going about 5 months ago. So I type in my password or what I thought it should be and it comes back with incorrect password. I have made a half dozen attempts to locate the correct pop-up or panel that will allow me to change my password to see if this will work. No luck, arm's up in the air until I contact Apple on Thursday unless someone points this Old Man in the correct direction and I get things working tonight or when I return from work tomorrow.:

When I navigate to about this Mac and then to storage info, it reports a completely wrong size for photos, audio, and movies. It reports as having 82 gigs of photos, 16 gigs of audio, 13 gigs of movies and 11 gigs of apps. Yet my hard drive capacity is 120 gigs. Other applications correctly report that I have 79 gigs free space.
I have reformatted my computer and started using command + R and disk utility to erase hard drive and reinstall OS X.
I DID NOT install or MIGRATE my applications and installed OS X as completely new.
I have used omnidisksweeper.
I have reindexed my hard drive using terminal commands AND also using this support page method: Spotlight: How to re-index folders or volumes
I have used disk utility to repair hard drive. I have an attachment of the incorrect storage being reported if needed.

I am pulling my hair since friday trying to get my MBP's time machine work with a 1TB drive connected to a early 2009 AEBS. First I spent half a day doing the first backup by connecting the hard drive directly to Mac using USB and later when I connected that drive to AEBS, time machine would not recognize the drive as the same one and I had to spend a good part of yesterday backing up my complete drive again.... and just when I thought I can rest easy knowing that my eternal dream of getting time machine work wirelessly, I saw time machine complain that there is not enough free space left to backup my paltry 103 GB worth of data on just second day.
Turns out, the Time machine backup volume (volume created by time machine on the AEBS disk) shows that the used space is 1TB.... but the size of the sparsebundle is only 103GB and my airport drive mount itself shows plenty of free space (800GB).... I have tried to search for similar problem, but I couldn't find much help... can anyone help me out here....
Btw, when I tried to repair the volume in disk utility, it says something about incorrect allocation blocks and then says it cannot repair and I need to backup and reformat the drive or something of that sort....
I've noticed over the last while that the clock in the top right of my log-in window screen is about 20 minutes behind the actual time. When I login, the desktop clock changes to the right time. How to adjust the log-in window clock?

I upgraded to Lion about a month ago. I didn't want to, but I had to to switch to iCloud which was the only way I could retain our family's six-year-old @mac.com and @me.com email addresses.
After working through a half dozen issues, everything seemed to finally be working smoothly. Just yesterday, though, Mac Mail stopped being able to open my iCloud email. It shows the sender, subject and the first couple lines of text in the listing of emails in the column to the left, but when I click on one or double click on one to view the entire message, I get "Loading" and a never-ending spinning wheel.
I have restarted everything, updated software, and repaired disk permissions. I don't want to delete the iCloud account and reinstall it because I have a couple hundred emails stored in folders residing on my machine.
My iCloud email works fine with my iPhone, iPad and on iCloud.com. I just can uses Mac Mail. But I access a half dozen other non-Apple email accounts-- POP and IMAP. Ironically, all the non-Apple email accounts work fine on Apple's Mac Mail.

Is there a way to block email originating from that block of IP addresses? Perhaps a plug-in?

View 3 Replies View RelatedIn my home machine I have several email accounts. I have a wife, two company accounts, and 4 young kids and each of them has is own account
Still they all look like as follows
My Name <mywife@mac.com>
My Name<sonaccount@mac.com>
and so on
As my kids receive emails, when they want to reply they would like to have their name in the header as this
mywife <mywife@mac.com>
sonaccount <sonaccount@mac.com>
In the Mail preferences the names are grey and cannot be modified
Before iCloud this was easy to do, but how to do so in the latest version of Mavericks?
I can no longer use one of my accounts. What happens when I try to add it to Mavericks Mail it recognises the log and pass as correct, however the Mail option is not available.
Trying to enter the mail box from SAFARI the iCloud,com website recognises my log and pass, clicking on the MAIL option it asks me to enter the log and pass again, doing so it tells me that log is already taken
I don't understand how this is possible as these are all paid account for well over a decade and I am already correctly in my iCloud account.

I'm running 10.9.3 and use Mac Mail to connect to an Exchange email account (Office 365). I want to back up all my mail and have been playing with the Export Mailbox feature. I have a few questions: Is there any way to back up more than one folder at a time?My Archive folder is quite big (35k messages). When I backed this up, it created 2 folders (Archive.mbox and Archive 2.mbox). The mbox file in mbox 2 is much larger (5.48GB vs 173KB).Is it normal that it would create to folders?Will this cause me any issues when doing a restore?I also backed up my Inbox and Sent Items and both were created in just one folder each.Are there any recommended tools for automatically backing up Mac Mail or is my best bet to do this manually?I'd love to find a cloud based tool where I can archive all my email and keep it secure and searchable in the cloud.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using the same email account on my MacBook Air forEVER. I can log in to my email (I use google) via the web and I can still access my mail via my phone and iPad. I keep getting prompted for the password. I first get the "Mail cannot connect to the Google account, pls enter password". It will not accept my password. The connection Dr.'s connection status is that mail can access the internet (green dot at top of connection dr box). However, the status for my account shows that login failed and I need to check username and password. Internet Accounts, under system settings, recognizes this google account accepts the password.
I have checked, rechecked and triple checked the imap and the smtp. I have deleted the account and recreated the account. I have tried different ports. The only thing I notice is that it doesn't want to save any changes I make. Under the account information tab, everything looks correct except it doesn't show a password (no bullets indicating a secret word). I type in my correct password (and I know it is correct b/c I can login via a browser), go to the outgoing server screen, make sure that is correct and click back over to the account information tab to find that the password is again gone.
I am getting SO tired of doing all my email the hard way! Either on my mini or having to login via browser. I just want my apple mail app back up!!!
I have 2 email accounts setup in Mail - 1 is an iCloud email and the other is a Gmail account. All the email for the Gmail account ends up in Junk on a daily basis. How can I get Mail to not do this? The email isn't marked as Junk by mail but simply ends up in there.

I noticed over the summer that I was no longer receiving e-mails from my church. I am very involved, so I need to be able to communicate with various staff members-- but multiple attempts to correct this problem have failed:
1) we have verified that they have my correct address;
2) I have added all the relevant addresses to my Contacts and designated them VIPs (whatever that means);
3) I have checked my settings and I do not have any filters that should be blocking these messages;
4) the messages are NOT in my Junk or Trash folders!

I am running OSX Mavericks and using Mac Mail. I have several email accounts set up including 2 different gmail accounts. My preferences are set up so that new messages are supposed to send from my primary gmail account. However, over the past couple of days, when I reply to a previous message or create a new message the message appears to be sending from my primary gmail account. That's the address that shows up in the box showing from which account the message is being created. The message uses the signature that is set up for my primary gmail account, and the message appears in the primary gmail account's Sent mail folder. However, when I look at the actual message that was sent (I tested this by sending it to another non-gmail account of mine), the From email address showing up is my secondary gmail account. So, replies are coming back to that secondary account, not the account from which I sent it.
I do not have this problem when sending messages from my iPhone or iPad, so I'm pretty sure it's strictly a Mac Mail problem.
I've checked the Preferences to ensure that my Composing settings have it set up to send from my primary gmail account, and it is set up that way. When composing the message, everything indicates that it will be sent from the primary gmail account, but instead it goes out as if coming from my secondary gmail account.
This is definitely a new problem. I've not updated anything on the Mac OS recently. The only updates that have been applied recently are a Flash Player update and an MS Office update. This problem started before either of those were applied, I believe. I know for sure it happened before the Office update.
Sometimes as I send an email I won't find it in sent folder. It happens especially when I save a message in drafts before sending it or when I put addresses in cc or can.
