A couple of apps I downloaded, a casino slot, want the game center to become involved. I do not want to have anything to do with the game center.
Other games e.g. solitaire card games do not cause the game center to pop up. How do I disable this?

I don't play games and would like to remove this, but so far have found no way to do so.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI've been using my Logitech MX1000 for a long time now with USB Overdrive and it's been fantastic. Being able to use the extra buttons to serve different purposes on a per-application basis has been amazing.
I just bought a Logitech Wave keyboard, which is great, but I ended up installing the Logitech Control Center since I couldn't find a way to configure the extra keys and I wanted volume controls, etc via the keyboard. The LCC software took care of this with flying colors, but it seems to also take control of my mouse and replaces the settings I had from USB Overdrive.
Basically what I'm asking is... is it possible to disable the mouse settings in LCC so it only sets up the key configurations on my keyboard? If not... is there some software available similar to USB Overdrive, but instead lets you configure all of the keys on your keyboard?
Ok, so I have everything set right in Notification Preferences and in Internet Accounts in System Preference. I'm not getting notifications in Notification Center nor am I getting Alerts.

Then when i run the game everything works fine (the begining cut scenes) but when the game is about to start it cuts off and an error popup comes up.

I occasionally click links such as "contact us" in websites that I expect to take me to something that shows an email address, but instead they automatically make my mail application open up, and that's just annoying as ****. Â
I know I can command+click to copy the email address. I don't need this alternate solution/not really a solution to this problem.
Preferences in the application is unavailable, I assume until I choose an account to add as it prompts me to do upon opening. Â
So how can I make it so that mail never opens just because I click an address?

How do I disable the internal mic on my iMac 27", when I use an external mic on Skype or other groups? I'm using osx Mavericks. I use system preferences to turn the internal mic volume down to 0, and every time try to make attest call on Skype it pops back up.

Since I upgraded to Mavericks, my once slick and awesome appointment system has been hobbled due to the new calendar integration.... I create a new event, and try to type "conf call" into the location and I have to wait about 4 minutes whilst maps goes through its entire database of locations desperately trying to find something that matches for each and every single letter that I type. Now when I want to create a new conference call in my calendar, I type "conf call" and go get a refill on my filter coffee while I wait for it to fail and timeout looking for an address that doesn't exist. Â
I'm sure the feature is awesome for people that create the occasional meeting, and always have the time to wait for neat-o address magic to happen, but I'd just like to turn it off. The paperclip was a bad idea when MS did it in Office all those years ago, let's not revisit.Â
There appears to be some kind of mouse scrolling acceleration - how do I turn it off? It is incredibly annoying and I see lots of people like me trying to find out how to turn it off.

I have already set the default application to open PDFs to Preview by using the "Open with..." and "Change All" option.Â
Now PDFs open in Preview, but I have a weird side effect:Â when I create a PDF (from Microsoft Word, etc.) the document is created with an Adobe Reader ICON, it then quickly changes to a Preview ICON (and opens in Preview).Â
PDFs are doing what I want, but the flash of Adobe Reader ICON (pun intended) is quite annoying. I have searched through the Adobe Reader Preferences and can find nothing that seems related.
I try to disabled the agenda "popup" when i look at my icloud account on a mac ? If i want to see my agenda i click on it i don't need to have modal boxes with all my calendars so i would delete it but i don't know how?

I brought a 15" MacBook Pro last week and finally set it up on Monday, the idea was for it to replace my 2007 13" White MacBook! But now i've had a change of heart and don't really want to get rid! I'd like to keep it of I can find a use to justify doing so! Just wondering what everyone else uses a second notebook for?! I was considering using it as a media center and for around the house/coffee shop browsing (My new MacBook Pro's base gets to 40 degrees so can't see myself using it on my lap unfortunately)!

It is as if the pixels surrounding it are not the same brightness as those of the remainder of the screen. It was purchased on 4/11/11 so warranty is not an issue (I have Apple Care).

I recently dropped my Machine at an angle and it seemed to knock my screen off center. When closed, part of the machines body is exposed where it used to be covered by the screen. It's only off by a hairline or two. It sticks out the same distance on the back of the machine. When I open or close it, the machine catches on the body and makes a slight scratching sound. How can this be repaired ? How will the Apple store treat this ?The machine did power itself off as well. I'm hoping I wont have to pay an arm and a leg for a bent piece of plastic
View 6 Replies View RelatedIt all started with QuickBooks 2012 for Mac. The program hangs and was displaying incorrect dates, etc.. Spoke to QuickBooks and they assured me that it wasn't their software, then spoke to Mac and they said it wasn't their hardware. Took computer into shop, because my bookkeeper's Mac worked fine with my company file. Shop cannot figure out what is wrong. They said that it might have needed to be upgraded to the latest operating system (Lion from Snow Leopard). This did not do the trick. They said that they tested the processor and it didn't show any problems.
