View 1 RepliesThey started appearing all of a sudden today along with ads that previously were't there on familiar sites. I checked my adblock extension and tried uninstalling and reinstalling it. That didn't work...

Why can't I Add bookmark for all tabs opened in Safari while in fullscreen?

I clicked on my Finder and there appears to be an endless amount of Applications tabs open. I've tried restarting my macbook air and relaunching Finder and nothing. When I click on my sidebar, everything opens in a new window despite my preference being set to open in new tabs.

I have really tried to like the new Safari, but I can't seem to generate 'affection' for the tabs. One thing especially is irritating to me. Being over the address bar is bad enough, but when there's a bunch of tabs, finding a spot to 'grab' the window to move it is difficult.
Is there a way to move the tabs back below the address window like the older Safari? I hope this hasn't been asked and answered before. I didn't see it.
my safari upon opening shows a tab for the current window. i thought tabs only appeared when you have 2 or more concurrent windows open at the same time.
is there a way to hide the tab when you only have 1 window open?

Safari had tabs yesterday. Today - no tabs nor tab bar. Nothing in Safari Preferences brings back the tabs. How can I get my tabs back?
View 3 Replies View RelatedRight now both of these keep popping up when using the Macbook pro trackpad AND the mouse. We are not using them anyway and want them disabled.

I occasionally click links such as "contact us" in websites that I expect to take me to something that shows an email address, but instead they automatically make my mail application open up, and that's just annoying as ****.
I know I can command+click to copy the email address. I don't need this alternate solution/not really a solution to this problem.
Preferences in the application is unavailable, I assume until I choose an account to add as it prompts me to do upon opening.
So how can I make it so that mail never opens just because I click an address?

How do I disable the internal mic on my iMac 27", when I use an external mic on Skype or other groups? I'm using osx Mavericks. I use system preferences to turn the internal mic volume down to 0, and every time try to make attest call on Skype it pops back up.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am following a couple of discussions and I would like to stop receiving email notifications when a new post appears... But for the life of me I cannot figure out how to do it! The Apple Support response I found via an Internet search appears to be for a previous iteration of the Apple Support Communities.

Since I upgraded to Mavericks, my once slick and awesome appointment system has been hobbled due to the new calendar integration.... I create a new event, and try to type "conf call" into the location and I have to wait about 4 minutes whilst maps goes through its entire database of locations desperately trying to find something that matches for each and every single letter that I type. Now when I want to create a new conference call in my calendar, I type "conf call" and go get a refill on my filter coffee while I wait for it to fail and timeout looking for an address that doesn't exist.
I'm sure the feature is awesome for people that create the occasional meeting, and always have the time to wait for neat-o address magic to happen, but I'd just like to turn it off. The paperclip was a bad idea when MS did it in Office all those years ago, let's not revisit.
A couple of apps I downloaded, a casino slot, want the game center to become involved. I do not want to have anything to do with the game center.
Other games e.g. solitaire card games do not cause the game center to pop up. How do I disable this?

There appears to be some kind of mouse scrolling acceleration - how do I turn it off? It is incredibly annoying and I see lots of people like me trying to find out how to turn it off.

I have already set the default application to open PDFs to Preview by using the "Open with..." and "Change All" option.
Now PDFs open in Preview, but I have a weird side effect: when I create a PDF (from Microsoft Word, etc.) the document is created with an Adobe Reader ICON, it then quickly changes to a Preview ICON (and opens in Preview).
PDFs are doing what I want, but the flash of Adobe Reader ICON (pun intended) is quite annoying. I have searched through the Adobe Reader Preferences and can find nothing that seems related.
I try to disabled the agenda "popup" when i look at my icloud account on a mac ? If i want to see my agenda i click on it i don't need to have modal boxes with all my calendars so i would delete it but i don't know how?

Earlier this week I did a clean re-install of SL and now in safari 4 I cannot remember how to get the tabs back like they where in safari 3 - under the address bar. I have search on here and also in google, but they did not retrieve much.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have just purchased the 11.6" MacBook Air and noticed the addition of the right click button at the bottom of the trackpad.
When I am in Firefox and am using an external mouse, I frequently use middle click to open a link in a new tab, followed by the use of an auxiliary button on the mouse, programmed with the keystroke "control tab" and another with "control shift tab" to switch back and forth quickly between multiple tabs.
My Questions: Is there any way to "remap" the right click key at the bottom of the MBA's trackpad and assign it to "middle click" when I am in Firefox, Safari, or Chrome (or just Firefox)? I am aware of "command + click" but am looking for something even faster.
Also, is there such thing as a trackpad gesture (or a way to program one) or any other quicker way of advancing forward though tabs besides the keystroke, "control tab"?
I just got a new MBA and I have never had a multi-touch mac before. I saw once that you can swipe finger gestures to go from tab to tab in safari. How do I do that?
View 7 Replies View RelatedOK, I'm a little stumped by this: I open a new tab that is blank...not even showing history. When I type in an address on the blank tab (2nd tab), the 1st tab changes and the 2nd tab stays blank. In order to view multiple pages, I have to use New Window. After several windows.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWell 2 things came into my mind that would make finder better:
1) A path bar that would be clickable; clicking a folder to get you to it instead of right-clicking it and chosing open
2) Tabs...
So, I have been using Safari for a while now, I like it for the most part but one thing that bugs me is how the tabs work.
I open alot of tabs, which works good, but when I select a tab and close it it goes to the tab to the left. When I close a tab I would like to go be viewing the last selected tab. Eg, if I am on tab one, and open a new tab to view something, then close that new tab, and it happens to be tab 10, I want my view to be tap 1 again. Right now it goes to tab 9 if I close tab 10
im converted to safari 4, i had a panic with it once, went to firefox but to slow, an chrome is not ready yet for everyday stuff, so since 4 is out of beta (hopefully no more system panics), im using it as my main browser,
the question is can i save my tabs, not bookmark but save when i close safari, i love this feature that all the others have.
In the new Safari 4 released today, is there any way to bring back the tabs on the title bar? I loved this because, believe it or not, that extra space really enhances my browsing.
View 5 Replies View RelatedOn safari if you open a lot of tabs they use to all compress so you can see all your tabs. Can anyone confirm on safari 4 that you can't do this anymore?
If you open a collection of say 19 tabs, you can't see them all at the same time
I want to be able to open new tabs automatically when I click in a top site link. At present it only opens the clicked website in the same window/tab. I've tried defaults write com.apple.safari TargetedClicksCreateTabs -bool true. This does nothing. It has worked before i updated to Snow Leopard. I must be missing something.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running it in 64bit in 32bit kernel on SL. I thought that only the tab would crash and not affect other tabs. I have done it before as in crashed a tab and safari give the message to close that tab without affecting other tabs, but this crashed the entire safari.
