OS X Mavericks :: How To Disable Modal Boxes From Agenda On ICloud
Sep 8, 2014
I try to disabled the agenda "popup" when i look at my icloud account on a mac ? If i want to see my agenda i click on it i don't need to have modal boxes with all my calendars so i would delete it but i don't know how?
Info:
iPhone 4S, iOS 7, No App Store icon since Twitter try
All my IOS devices are syncing correctly with the Exchange agenda from my work. But my Macbook also working with Lion now, and my iCloud agenda doesn't sync with that account? They even doesn't sync with my iPad and iPod touch? How is that possible?
This is driving me nuts. I'm working with a 400 page document where I frequently have to change styles. When I'm scrolling through the list, the huge styles tooltip hoverboxes pop up. They obscure 3 or 4 style options at a time, so I have to scroll farther than necessary to see them.
I've searched Words' preferences, but I can't find out where to disable the tooltips.
I had a notes section under mailboxes in mail. Within this notes section I had several named mailboxes that I used to store various emails. They are now missing from my mac when I converted to Maverick. I still have them on my iPhone.
Info: MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012), OS X Mavericks (10.9.4)
Since upgrading to Mavericks, some fonts are displaying as rows of A's in boxes, both in mail (in the body copy and any attachments) and on web pages I visit. How do I overcome this?
I used to get a dialogue box when quitting safari, which was useful if accidentally hitting 'command q', but has now disappeared leading to lost work etc. How I can get this useful option back.
I've had my mac for over a year and I still don't know how to do anything on it. I want to design my own cover for an agenda I am going to print off. And if I had a PC, id do it in paint, but there isn't anything like paint on my macbook. (I download adobe freehand but I cannot figure out how to do everything I want to do). What I really want to do is make a monogram of my initials shaped like a circle [URL] like that picture but I cant seem to find any program that will shape things like a circle. So I made one on freehand but I cant figure out how to curve lines or erase things.
I am migrating my mail and archive folders from Mail to iCloud. I moved 20+ folders and over 8k messages with no problem by dragging and dropping the folder from 'On my mac' section to 'iCloud' section in Mail. The last two folders were the largest with over 1.5k in each folder. Over 1200 of the messages in each went in to iCloud without a hitch. Then I got this error:
The IMAP command “APPEND” (to [mail box name]) failed with server error: Message contains NUL characters.
There are 149 messages left in one folder and 203 in another folder. Try as I might, it will not work. I tried Rebuild mailbox option in menu and exported to Mail and mbox format and then re-importing. Still does not work.
I recently enabled a new email address for myself and everything seems to work fine on my Mac and iphone except for icloud. I keep getting messages that pop up asking for my password to my old apple id and it never recognizes it when I put it in. Why won't icloud recognize my new apple id and password? How do I disable the old one for good? When I go into settings, the informations seems to be all correct but I still keep getting the same old annoying messages.
Or how can I at least set it to ask me before it opens itsself?
I occasionally click links such as "contact us" in websites that I expect to take me to something that shows an email address, but instead they automatically make my mail application open up, and that's just annoying as ****.
I know I can command+click to copy the email address. I don't need this alternate solution/not really a solution to this problem.
Preferences in the application is unavailable, I assume until I choose an account to add as it prompts me to do upon opening.
So how can I make it so that mail never opens just because I click an address?
How do I disable the internal mic on my iMac 27", when I use an external mic on Skype or other groups? I'm using osx Mavericks. I use system preferences to turn the internal mic volume down to 0, and every time try to make attest call on Skype it pops back up.
I am following a couple of discussions and I would like to stop receiving email notifications when a new post appears... But for the life of me I cannot figure out how to do it! The Apple Support response I found via an Internet search appears to be for a previous iteration of the Apple Support Communities.
Since I upgraded to Mavericks, my once slick and awesome appointment system has been hobbled due to the new calendar integration.... I create a new event, and try to type "conf call" into the location and I have to wait about 4 minutes whilst maps goes through its entire database of locations desperately trying to find something that matches for each and every single letter that I type. Now when I want to create a new conference call in my calendar, I type "conf call" and go get a refill on my filter coffee while I wait for it to fail and timeout looking for an address that doesn't exist.
I'm sure the feature is awesome for people that create the occasional meeting, and always have the time to wait for neat-o address magic to happen, but I'd just like to turn it off. The paperclip was a bad idea when MS did it in Office all those years ago, let's not revisit.
There appears to be some kind of mouse scrolling acceleration - how do I turn it off? It is incredibly annoying and I see lots of people like me trying to find out how to turn it off.
I have already set the default application to open PDFs to Preview by using the "Open with..." and "Change All" option.
Now PDFs open in Preview, but I have a weird side effect: when I create a PDF (from Microsoft Word, etc.) the document is created with an Adobe Reader ICON, it then quickly changes to a Preview ICON (and opens in Preview).
PDFs are doing what I want, but the flash of Adobe Reader ICON (pun intended) is quite annoying. I have searched through the Adobe Reader Preferences and can find nothing that seems related.
I am trying to log out from iCloud on Mac OS (from Settings ==> iCloud) and getting the following error: Your iCloud account couldn’t be removed at this time.Sign out of iCloud is not allowed by Parental Controls.
I have never set up any parental controls (dont have kids yet ) so not sure how to handle that.

OSX 10.9.4 iMac - When I try to sign into iCloud an old email address appears, one for which I don't remember the password. I have updated my profile under my apple account but the old email keeps appearing. This blocks my using iCloud.
I'm about to order Snow Leopard, but I saw that little disclaimer as I was filling out my shipping address. I've had packages delivered from Amazon to my mailbox before, from UPS, USPS, and FedEx Ground. Should I go ahead and have Snow Leopard shipped to my box?
Since the last OS update to snow leopard my dialog boxes have looked different. I'm assuming this isn't how they are supposed to look. Does anyone have any idea whats going on or how to fix it?
I have noticed my contacts on my macbook are not synchronizing with iCloud. I have 20 contacts more on my matchbook than I have in iCloud. Since I have more than 500 contacts I don't know which ones I'm missing.I also have double contacts in my 'all contacts' but I cannot delete them. I trust my iCloud contacts, but there are at least 20 contacts missing there.
