I'm placing images in both Quark and InDesign. When we go to preview image they appear with there alpha masks activated. Images have to be .tifs and we have to use alpha channels.
View 1 RepliesI am a recent Mac user and there is one thing that is bugging me. In Windows, if I wanted to view all the pictures one by one in a folder, I'd just double click and Windows Picture Preview will launch and you can hit the left / right arrow keys to go to the other pictures. In the Mac side, to achieve this, you have to select every picture file for you to be able to hit the right / left arrow keys to advance. You can't just open one picture and have it open everyone in the folder. Anyone know how I can make this work?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently bought my Mac Pro off of a friend. He still had it under his name, and I changed it to my name under system preferences. I think it messed up the uploading, exporting, importing, and viewing of my pictures. I can upload them to the computer fine, but when I go to export or view them in iPhoto, all I get is a black screen. Exporting, and it tells me unable to create "users/(friends name)/documents/" I don't want to lose my pictures. I've already tried to rebuild the library with iPhoto Manager and with iPhoto itself.

so i've created outlines for a bunch of animated characters- 24 frames per second, each frame is a different psd file with black outlines. I'm animating over live action footage, similar in look and style to Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
I brought them in to final cut and edited them nicely (i applied some motion effects, changing the position on a few frames) so i can work with them in after effects to track them to some handheld shots.
What i need to know how to do is to export these outlines from FCP to After Effects with an alpha background- I did the export with the animation codec and the millions+ option, but when i brought them into after effects, the frames are all black! (as they are in FCP when i get rid of the shot beneath them...(which i'm doing because i just want to edit the outlines in after effects, not them on top of the footage))

We use this at the office to communicate between systems, and often send image files back and forth between co-workers. Recently though a bug began in which images don't actually show in line, but rather simply show the filename and a link to open it in Finder.
The weirdest part of the bug is that if the chat window is open in the background the image will display just fine. However as soon as I switch to make it active in order to respond or quicklook the image it immediately becomes the filename with the magnifying glass icon to direct me to it's location in finder.
Before I upgraded to Mavericks, I always used to see a "Load Images" button above email messages. I don't see that anymore and some of my emails contain a question mark in place of the image. I've looked everywhere to try to find a solution but no luck.

I have noticed that when I insert a JPG image into a PDF file using Preview, the application inserts white padding around the image. Meanwhile, when I insert a PDF image, no white padding is added. Why is the same image treated differently based on its file format?

When opening up folders and files in Finder, is there a way that would group all folders first, then files below. When I currently view in Finder, files and folders are listed in Alpha Numeric order and are mixed together in such order.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI currently have cable TV via Cox. I have an HD DVR Converter box which enables me to see high def and non high def programs. I don't have any premium movie channels. I would like to buy the EyeTV for my Macbook but am unclear on something. I have tried researching this on their forums without luck. If I connect the EyeTV250 directly to the coax cable, completely bypassing my existing converter box, will I be able to receive all of the stations I currently receive when viewing TV normally. Specifically, will I be able to view the HD channels?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to record something on 'Quest' tonight (Freeview channel 38) but, although it's there on my TV and Humax, it's not showing on EyeTV. I've tried both a full rescan and the exhaustive scan, but still nothing. It's plugged in via a y-connector from the main wall socket (the other side going to my Humax/TV) and signal quality is 100% with signal strength being 97.5%. why it's not showing up?
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter lots and lots of reading I went for flashed Sapphire 4870 512 off eBay for my Mac Pro 1,1 running SL 10.6.2, with two Viewsonic VP2030b. The guy selling the card had sold flashed cards before and had 100% feedback, said the card worked with dual monitors and supported SL. Got the card, installed it without a problem, but could not get it to work with both monitors.
Second monitor said no signal on both DVI channels. Checked all the wires, reinstalled, rebooted, no luck. Plugged both into my 7300GT, no issues at all. At one point, I got the left monitor to boot as the extended desktop, showing the dock but not showing the HDD or icons (which should be on the right screen), but the right screen still showed no signal and was black. Used the gather windows botton in the display preferences to see if adjusting settings helped, still nothing. Detect displays button was no help either. Is this a compatibility problem on my end or a flashing problem on his? Contacted him and he said he had no issues with his MP 1,1 and two 20" Apple displays.
Question:
At the moment I've got a DualBand Airport Extreme with two Airport Expresses bridging on either the 2,4 or the 5 Ghz channel.
Can I replace them with one Airport Extreme which bridges both channels?
As in:
One Extreme transmits both 2,4 and 5Ghz networks, and the other one connects and extends both channels?
I need help in being able to have my EyeTV communicate with my ZephIR Infrared device so that the EyeTV can change channels and record TV shows by itself on my Cable Box. They're not communicating with each other at all.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have Elgato EyeTV Digital TV Recorder Version 2.5.3 (3313) running under OSX version 10.4.11 and using a Miglia TVMini (TVM01) USB 2.0 DVB-T Digital Video Recorder device.
Recently, (after no software changes except maybe a osx/safari/itunes update, but I can't imagine why this would cause a problem), certain channels now display "No Signal", and when I check the preferences Signal info, these channels have a strength and quality of 0%. This seemed to happen all of a sudden, and I now cannot get the channels working again (despite trying a signal booster, re-scanning all channels) while other receivers (i.e. a TV) seem to work fine from the same input.
A full listing of the channel titles (and numbers) which are displayed as having 0% strength and quality are: Yesterday (12), 4music (18), Film4 (15), Viva (21), Ideal World (22), ITV4 (24), Dave ja vu (35), Big Deal (32), Virgin+1 (35), Create & Craft (36), Rocks & Co (40), Lottery Xtra (45) Russia Today (85), smileTV2 (94), Babestation (96), Babestation2 (99).
how to get these channels back working again?
Someone edited a sequence for me in Premiere. The audio was recorded 4 channel on a external recorder (four mics were used). At times, he used the wrong channel in the timeline. I believe what he did was take all the channel one audio and put it on the timeline and deleted the other 3 channels. Hence In many cases, using the wrong mic.IS there a way to swap channels in the timeline? I would almost need to do a reconnect, but swap channels at the same time. I use FCP and will convert this to a FCP sequence using 7toX.

But if the same image is sent to any other PC (from the ma user) it opens OK.The added twist. If another pc user opens (which it does with no issues) then closes and sends back to the failing pc it opens with no issues!
